Although I’m covering this news story, it’s by popular demand. I don’t believe any of this and I highly recommend that you do not either.
The site DualPixels (which has since crashed) claimed to have gotten “information” from a leaker about Generation VII. They claim:
- Two new games are codenamed Pokémon Plus & Pokémon Minus, could be final
- The battle system is going to be re-worked completely and simplified
- New region is based on Southeast Asia, may have islands
- GameFreak is trying many new ideas out that they’ve been holding onto
- “Three new starters with no names: Water evolves into Water/Steel and is a squat, teardrop shaped humanoid that has a jar filled with on its head as it evolves it grows taller and the jar bigger until it needs another set of arms to hold it on it’s head. Fire evolves into Fire/Fairy and is a tiny cute goat with fire blowing out of its horns, it’s horns and look evolves more menacing until it has curly ram like horns and a motorcycle hot-rod-like look. Grass evolves into a Grass/Electric and starts with a leap for a face with a nubby root as a body and evolves until it grows into an electric producing palm tree with each flower petal having a different face.”
- “The main legendary for Pokemon Plus is a Shi Foo Lion-looking Psychic/Ground-type that has multiple faces, the Pokemon Minus legendary is a Ghost/Fairy type that has two dashes for eyes and is a hurricane-like appendages with many arms and hands.”
- “The new “Team” villains are described as a bunch of “Sohei Zelots”-types who have discovered the player’s best friend as a reincarnation of a special type of person who only is alive every 100 years. They believe the old system where people were given a Pokemon egg and they stick to that Pokemon until they die and who’s function in society dictate what role that person is. They are against the “modern” trend of Pokemon Trainers and capturing multiple Pokemon and are making a holy pilgrimage to evoke the old Legendaries to turn everything back to normal. They keep the player away from their friend, saying the special one (who can do amazing things like mega evolve Pokemon without the use of a mega ring) only love is that of Pokemon and not people. It is planned to be reveal later that for the special one to fulfill their role in society they must be mortally sacrificed to awaken the legendaries.”

Pokemon Plus and Pokemon Minus sounds like such a genuine official title(s) though. Someone could’ve possibly found out the name of new pokemon titles coming this year and probably added their own fan fiction ideas to it.
Can we just go back to gemstones, like Amethyst and Opal? That would be nice.
I figured they would go back to colors since they wanted to simplify things.

They should make the games Super HD but the 3D’s limits this… but no matter what they do they should keep the cell shading.. the Pokémon have Never looked realer.. other than things like fire and stuff

I’m listening to this guys video. I like the idea of having multiple Bank’s throughout this new region that allow you to stop there and import your pokemon from the past.
and Pokemon Band… linking up with friends to create music ! sounds cool. obviously fake but I love new ideas.
sounds too complicated.. I prefer being able to do it as easy as I can battle or trade in the current games, When I want to… not when I reach a destination in the game..
yeah I would prefer they stick to types instead of “type of pokemon”… that doesn’t sound simplified

according to this video that I’m listening to the new graphics are so advanced in cell shading that it has more of an anime feel lol. God if this games turned out to be true… I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. I’d be too excited to talk tbh

something that always has bothered me was the fact that is Gold/Silver/Crystal and Diamond/Pearl/Platinum instead of Gold/Silver/Platinum and Diamond/Pearl/Crystal

She was the first playable female character for Pokemon, right? That seems logical, but to have Suicune as a mascot over the other 2 seems unfair, but alas, what’s done is done.

Originally, before the original Red and Green were released, Gamefreak has already designed more than a 1000 Pokemon, and only a selected few made it into the games. It’s not far-fetch to say that there are already ideas for new Pokemon, but for a complete rework of the game, something X and Y has done, (or at least set the foundation for) is improbable. Even though Black and White were already in development in Gen 4, they were still the sprite based system, with few changes. I’m still having trouble imagine the grass starter as stated in the rumors, because all that pops in my mind is an electrifying Exeggutor.

Yeah but do remember that game freak seem to work on many game sat once I forgot what was released but at the time they had half one team working on platinum and the other half on black and white so they aren’t strangers to multitasking and I remember at the time of the Pokemon movie with lucario and mew there was a scene that showed a “faraway” region that clearly looked like unova. But I do say myself this game rumor has no logic.
Pokemon Band sounds like the type of gimmick they would include with RS remakes that would make it cost 50 bucks lol

yep thats probably what they meant by simplicity. Its the reason why my 25 year old brother stopped playing Pokemon (during DPP) era. He didn’t like the whole thing of breeding for IVs etc.. he really missed enjoying just catching a pokemon and leveling it up like in RBYGSC.
The IVs get the KOs though, they make the difference between having a good chance to win or having a bad one.
Change it back to how it was in generation one.

This is just what it felt like to me but as soon as I read about the water starter I knew this was fake. And after reading over it again it seemed un-Gamefreak-like and there were quite a few stupid decisions in there like somehow simplifying battles and not saying it’s stupid or anything (which it isn’t at all) making a main story Pokemon game for the Wii U. Usually Gamefreak releases all the side Pokemon games on the Wii probably because the 3DS is cheaper than the Wii U and thus, gives more people the ability to play the Pokemon game.
Well what we do know is Nintendo is planning on revealing something Pokemon related … as seen from that instagram picture a month ago
I mean the guy who reported the titles is pretty credible for reporting details on Castlevania: Mirrors of Fate, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix, and quite a few others that came true. So yeah I’m just gonna go on ahead and believe that the titles Plus and Minus are real, and that the details added with them are fake.

Now, I know it’s highly unbelievable. (And just so soon after XY?! That just is weird to me) But I do love that little tidbit of story. I dunno why, it sounds so cool. If this is true, that story would be quite acceptable (and a nice change of pace)
The starters types sound nice and unique (except Water/Steel….sorry but you can’t beat Empoleon for me) but the designs sound weird to me. The legendaries’ inspirations sound nice, as well as the typing.
The name of the game sounds meh to me, but oh well.
But having that South Asian setting is kinda cool, and I liked the theme/team because they reflect the culture there, and it sounds like it is focused on India (but I dunno for sure, I could be wrong). And having islands also reflect India and Indonesia and so on (I’m also not good in geology
Overall, if these games are in fact real, which right now I doubt, but who knows for sure, it would interest me 😀 But these are my opinions, you have every right to.

True, but from what I read about the theme and role dictating, it reminds me of Hinduism, which is very prominent in India (but once again, I really don’t know my geology and/or my countries so forgive me) But I assumed it would be a mainland with islands, but that’s just me

This seems plausible but doesn’t if that makes sense. The story, from what has been said seems a tad complicated (or it’s me who has just woken up and is very tired)

Obviously the mascots would be the Ultra-Super-Mega Evolutions of Plusle and Minun. Therefore this is fake.
Well it would only be the Gen Directly after the introduction of Mega Evolutions so only add on the Super…. Ultra is for later ; )

I wouldn’t be surpirsed at all if this turned out to be true because x and y were soooo featureless the games felt half made and looked like they were missing something plus that odd note added on the pokemon guide that says “another 14 berries are not obtainable in x and y and must be obtained from trading with other regions” isn’t that a bit odd? If it meant other country’s it would just say trading with trainers playing x and y in other countries so…. Either way I reckon that if this isn’t real something to do with x and y partnering it will release soon.
