This year was certainly a memorable one in the Poké-verse. Almost a full year ago we were treated to a Pokémon direct that revealed Generation VI of the main series. Many had wondered what other colors or gems there were left to use for their names, but The Pokémon Company surprised us all by announcing Pokémon X & Pokémon Y. These two new games boasted features fans had only dreamed of, including 3D graphics, trainer customization, and a global release. Then came the 9 months of waiting for them to come out. We all persevered however and everyone was kept up to date on all the minute revalations right here at PJN 😉

Along with Generation VI, 2013 also saw a new Pokémon movie, Genesect and the Legend Awakened, as well as a new anime season featuring the cast of Pokémon X & Y. New TCG sets based on the game also debuted.

Staff: Favorite Moments of 2013

PJ: My favorite Pokémon memory of 2013 was probably getting to go to the Pokémon Game Show. It was a first for the series and the event was super fun. I also got a chance to play Pokémon X & Y early which was a blast (but made me even more impatient)! Obviously another great moment was the release of X & Y. They’re great games and being able to start my own adventure was something I had waited to do since they were announced. Lastly, I’d just like to say that 2013 was a year of exciting growth for this site and it really has been a privilege to deliver news to all of you and read your comments on all our posts. I’ve also really enjoyed working alongside all of the staff here. Here’s to a great 2014!

moving: 2013 has been a pretty big year for me. My activity and work on the site increased hugely and it now feels like I’ve become a proper part of the site (hopefully the other staff and visitors agree!), and I’m proud to say I’ve been a part of PokéJungle.nets biggest and busiest year yet. It’s difficult to fit all of my highlights of the year into a couple of sentences, so I won’t even try… However one of my favourite moments was in the week before X & Y released, the staff were all up in arms about who would be doing what and who would get their copy of the game first. Then, two days early I received my game shortly after Sammydodger and properly kicked off our in-depth coverage. There’s absolutely loads I could pick, but that will do for now, perhaps more in the comments… 2014? Bring it on!

Looking Forward to 2014

A new year means new possibilities. We already know of one release we’ll get: Pokémon Bank. After it’s rocky launch and subsequent removal in Japan, only time will tell when it will be released worldwide. Hopefully soon though! The next year could also bring new surprises for fans. Spin-offs? Remakes? Who knows what will be announced. One thing’s for sure though… we’ll do our best here at PJN to report it first! So we hope you’ll stick with us and come along for the ride 😀

  3. Why we will be getting two (possibly 3) more regions for 3DS

    NEW REGION

    -It will be east of kalos
    -NPC that gives you strange souvenir wants you to check out his Champion of his region which implies it’ll have 8 badges.
    -Train in Lumiose that we don’t have the ticket yet for extends through East Kalos through Couriway (“a town connecting differences”)
    -NPC”s in the game tell you Kalos had a falling out with its neighboring region
    -Kalos has Luvdisc, Other region has Magikarp (as confirmed by NPC in couriway)
    -Other region has Moondial (Kalos has Sundial) confirmed by NPC in Anistar city
    -16 badges total, since we’ll be able to take train through Kalos/New region.
    -New region will have a new shape in the summary instead of a Pentagon
    -If Kalos is known as the beauty region, is it safe to say its neighbor is the ugly region? Cause of its magikarp
    -NPC in Couriway talks of a waterfall that flows backwards somewhere in this world, she says THIS world, not the distortion world. Another NPC in the same town talks of Magikarp being able to climb waterfalls (it can climb waterfalls cause the waterfall flows backwards)… Since the other region has Moondial, its safe to say it could also be a gravitational force that pulls the water upwards.
    -Event Shiny Dialga/Palkia/Giratina may unlock something in this region, since a Pokebank banks have the summary of “traveled through time and space” and elite 4 Dragon lady talks of her grandpa using Dialga/Palkia before or something.
    -East Gastrodon (blue) is missing from the game
    -Sycamore’s left a letter on one of the benches in Couriway next to train station adressed to his future self
    -Shauna tells you she can’t wait to make memories in another region.
    -Memory Girl in Anistar tells you your pokemons memories.
    -Old man in scary house tells you a story about a “HORDE” of faceless men that attacked him somewhere faraway. Horde is keyword here, a new feature implemented in the games.

    HOENN

    -The official guide talks of 14 berries being unavailable in XY and can be available from other regions. Plural, with an S. More than 1 region. We can’t transfer the berries through bank cause items aren’t transferable.
    -NPC says her uncle lives in Hoenn if we ever meet him tell him she said hi.
    -NPC says she swam all the way to Kalos from Hoenn
    -NPC says his anniversary with his wife is 40 ruby, 45th sapphire
    -Lumiose Museum has paintings of all 5 regions, no painting of Hoenn region
    -Only Hoenn painting is of Mr. Briney and his infamous Wingull ‘Peeko’
    -Bridgette returning in Bank
    -Lots of hints in B2W2 that point towards it. Lots of NPC’s that I won’t dwell on.

    ORRE
    -Orre region is definitely going to come at some point.
    -If it doesn’t come as 3DS title, Orre will definitely be a Wii-U title.
    -If its a Wii-U title, Certain event pokes will be transferable back to your XY games.
    -Proof in this is that, Orre region Pokemon have a Circle Shape in their summary in XY games while Kanto through Unova didn’t get a shape. (Kalos has pentagon, Orre has Circle).

  5. havent anyone else experienced:
    being in a battle and trying to find out what the pokemon youre fighting is .. but since it’s nicknamed, you don’t even know and cant remember LOL;

    • I honestly didn’t think Gen 6 would come so soon. The announcements came 2-3 months after B2W2 released and everyone was getting ahold of their gen 5 dreamworld pokes.

      Rumors suggest we could be getting another 40-70 new pokemon soon, i think they divided gen 6 in two parts to have longevity and allow us to get used to the new pokes little by little instead of dumping a total of 850 pokemon on us and having us have to catch them all..
