A new patch has just (well, ‘just’) gone live, fixing several things for Pokémon X and Y. You can download it on the eShop now and it is required if you want to do online. The change log is as follows:

Patch 1.2

  • Fixes an occasional bug causing Pokémon not to learn new moves after evolving through Wonder Trade.
  • Fixes an occasional bug where certain captions for Trainer PR Videos were not unlocked in Lumiose City.
  • Updates an Internet communication issue.

What Internet communication issue are they talking about? Well, it fixes the data snooping, essentially killing both Battle Analyser and Instacheck. If you didn’t know about them, Battle Analyser allowed you to see your opponents move sets and even the move they selected that turn before you selected yours. Instacheck allowed you to see the Shiny Values of your Pokémon, essentially making you put some effort into shiny hunting again. So for all those cheaters out there: too bad!

It’s currently unknown if the update will stand the test of time but we know for sure Gamefreak is doing all they can to ban ‘illegitimate’ practices. Now we only have to wait for the patch that fixes the barren endgame.

  8. So odd for them to use Bridgette of all people from a game that’s a decade old. In fact, it’d make sense to use Amanita since she was the PC Storage Box creator/regulator of Unova/the gens that will most likely be used as a bridge for transferring to X/Y.

    So if anything, this might be a good confirmation for Hoenn remakes. Know its been discussed over and over again but it has me so excited.

  20. Wow it is kind of saddening seeing the transfer is almost back, i like seeing everyone using non hacked legit pokemon. I will also like seeing the unique pokemon.. I guess i will have my old pokemon back…
    Also another sad / fact thing is my oldest pokemon that i have is my blaziken from emerald, I choose sceptile first, but then after a long while i resetted and chose Blaziken, If i knew sinnoh would have a transfer system i would of kept my sceptile my long lost favorite buddy of hoenn…

    So here is Wurmple QUESTION TIME, What is your oldest pokemon and how old is it?

          • Lol it is okay my Sceptile is my favorite pokemon of Hoenn… but hey what are you going to do… My very first pokemon was Squirtle… but that story is kinda sad

          • So maybe two months after i beat Crystal (I still played my Red, it took me a year Red and near a year to beat Crystal imagine how close i was to my teams) My brother gave them to his girlfriend ( for his 3 month anniversary gift) because she wanted pokemon for a long time (keep in mind my brother had Blue and Silver). He didn’t even ask me and he just took them and i cried for so long, she wouldn’t give them back either. My parents said i should deal with it, so i thought every one was against me. But i had good friends who cheered me up and stopped playing their pokemon games because my games were “stolen.” Luckily soon after (2 months is a long time with no pokemon) Emerald came out. Thus begins my favorite game ever 🙂

          • I know it is terrible!!! Yea they thought it was good that it would make me “go outside more” to this day i am still mad at my brother for that. The thing is he was in fifth grade so it was just some little kid love >:( i cried so hard my eyes were probably so dry. I was mad three things

          • I KNOW RIGHT!!!! These were the highlights of my childhood but nnnooooooo HE STOLE THEM FROM ME AND TOOK AWAY A CHUNK OF MY CHILDHOOD, Pokemon emerald recovered most of that chunk but not all… I promise if he ever stole emerald i think i would beat with a metal bat, no lie, will you help me :D?

    • My Sceptile from Emerald (legally). As to how old it is, well, since Emerald came out, too lazy to do the math. Good times…

      My actual oldest and first poke would be Feraligatr in Gold. And yes, my first game wasn’t an original copy :(.
