A rarely mentioned topic on our site is the TCG-side of Pokémon, but I think it’s more than worth talking about occasionally. Pokémon recently announced details about the English release of the X&Y TCG expansion which will be coming on February 5, 2014. Fairy-type has been added to the cards, as well as a new Mega Pokémon mechanic.
Personally, I’ve always been more of a “collector” type when it comes to the Pokémon TCG. My three sisters never had any interest in battling when I was younger so even if I had made a competitive deck there wouldn’t have been any way for me to test it out. Luckily, children growing up in this online era have the Pokémon TCG Online game in case they have no interested siblings or nearby events. I don’t have much time for it, but I do really enjoy the TCGO game so if you haven’t checked it out I recommend that you do!
Looking forward to reading the comments about what you’re doing TCG-wise right now 🙂

Haha 4 days? Nope. People like IntimidatingWurmple, etc. have been using the Masuda Method for about a week now. I did give TCMets a shiny Whiscash yesterday because I didn’t want to leave him empty-handed though.

The highest chain i got was 30. It’s not too bad but it does get annoying when you run into the wrong pokemon.

omg i am glad i am not the only one, i was chaining last week i didnt even get to 30 i was on chain 10 the music change i didnt get it no one told me that it does that when you get close( atleast i think it does when you about to encounter a shiny) then all of a sudden ruined it with bunnelby, the rage i felt, one for being so close and i didnt have to chain all the way to 40 and two for not knowing the music changes when you are close

After 3 days of searching i found a shiny horsea 😀 male, sassy natured, above avg sp atk, It took 13 chains and i found it during lunch at school followed by high fiving my friend who was next to me.

Doing all of this drawing and coming up with ideas makes feel bad about all of the work Game Freak does and then the Pokemon they create get criticized.
We’re doing this because we love pokemon and are inspired by them to make our own pokemon and this is also non-profit so it doesn’t hurt them at all :3

any of you hear of my Reformed Criminal Police Chief Dark Type Gym leader?

I agree it really fits a dark type gym leader!
He used to use devious Dark types commit crimes but after being beaten by the Police Chief he had an Epiphany and decided to use his Pokemon to stop crime, by joining the police force and becoming the Chief and Gym leader
It works. The Fire typed E4 member worked for Team Flare and some of the kanto gym leaders worked for rocket.
