Plans for launching our first Official PokéJungle Tournament are moving along swiftly, and we’re steadily laying down ideas behind the scenes ready for a full summary and rules set soon. While the majority of the organisation for this tournament is down to us staff, we still want some key input from our readers and potential competitors. As such we have created quick survey for our readers to fill out, the results of which will shape how this tournament will work, so please answer as best you can! Once we have received a reasonable amount of replies, we will review the results, finalise the tournament rules and publicly open sign-ups. So waste no time in getting your responses in!

          • Yeah that’s good. I don’t have everything down for awakening but for the others I think i am good. Like mani katti and sol katti and durandel

          • My path of radiance and radiant dawn is pretty rusty at the moment but awakening is still fresh. I’m curious what is your opinion of Lunatic/Lunatic+

          • I have tried lunatic on the demo. I played my first time on normal mode. Then the next two I played easy for the fun of the game and easiness of raising characters. Have you ever tried playing with the old characters?

          • I actually never use them because there is no support conversations, I wish they put them. I love the story so I get more attached to the actual characters more than the older ones. I think Lunatic+ is ridiculous, and Lunatic forces you to abuse specific characters more than others. I like to use every character equally and enjoy the story as well, so hard classic is my favorite one!

          • Yeah I played radiant dawn a lot so I would try to use every character. I have a file with all old characters. And yeah it is hard without support. But I like that we got them even though North America never got some of the games. I really want a remake of sword of seals (the one with Roy)

          • Yes I agree. I haven’t played that one and I really want to. But it’s really hard to play older games now after getting used to graphics of 3DS, Wii, Gamecube xD

          • Yeah I got sacred stones from the ambassador program on the 3ds. And it stinks because I started another file then accidentally saved over my best file that had Lyon after beating the lagdou ruins three times and buying items to max his stats. I want them to remake all the ones North America didn’t get

  8. hm.. how exactly do you get hidden ability pokemon? o.e thru friend safari? i keep trying to find a hidden ability roggenrola or his other evos, but no luck so far x:<

    • Pokemon through the Friend Safari have a chance of having their Hidden Abilities. They have a higher chance if the person who’s Safari you’re in is also online. Additionally, Pokemon encountered in Horde Battles have a chance of having their Hidden Abilities.

  15. @regi, Do you know if Xenon has any item on his Talonflame at all? Is he just all in for the Acrobatics? Or does he have a Berry for safe measure?

    • I don’t know too much about his team. But I love the way he thinks and plays. Every move he makes is well thought out. I admire his battling skill more than his team xD

      • Hahaha xD I’d love to see a battle between you and him. I’m just so curious if he just goes with no item on Talonflame. I keep running into other Talonflames now, and it’s usually a they hit me first, I take them out, and I die from recoil. I don’t really understand why so many people are putting so many Speed EVs into Talonflame, but hey, to each their own. But I need to consider now if Acrobatics is a better option now to preserve my Robin against these other damn Talonflames.

        • I think it has no item. I don’t think he has IV bred anything yet! And at the moment he’s just testing things. But give it a few months, and he will have a very unique team. It maybe for things like Jolly Excadrill, where flare blitz is your only option. I think a little speed to outrun specific things, and the rest in HP.

          • Well that shows it’s the trainer making the decisions that wins most battles, outside of luck every now and again xD What’s an ideal EV spread for Talonflame then to outrun specific things? What are the more veteran competitors saying?

          • 92 Evs are good because you outspeed all neutral natured 105 base speed at level 50 by one point. You can do a bit less. Use that damage calculator I gave you!

          • I have a little over 100 Speed EVs, damn people are really feeding Talonflame the Speed EVs then.

            I think I’ve made my decision, and will edit this in a bit after your thoughts. But I’m thinking of going with Will-o-Wisp, Flare Blitz, Acrobatics, and Swords Dance INSTEAD of Will-o-Wisp, Flare Blitz, Brave Bird, and Roost.

          • Gah, but the only thing is I can’t recover Stealth Rock damage…I’d have to really predict when that’s coming and send out Saikou in order to protect Robin.

  19. besides attack, what other thing should i super train kangaskhan on? o3o her nature brought her sp def down a bit so i was thinking that butttt… opinions? recommendations? xD

    i ask too many questions LOL im sorry. i just dont get what to focus on when it comes to super training

  20. So I wanted to give a very important tip to people fairly new to battling in making teams that I feel is probably the most important. If anyone would like to know please ask!

    • Alright so the single most important tip is called “synergy”

      What this means is that you have pokemon who’s weakness are resisted by another pokemon you can switch into:

      And Example:

      Hydreigon Dark/fighting

      Weaknesses: fighting, ice, dragon, bug and fairy

      So you want to have a pokemon that resist’s all of these weaknesses so you can switch in in once and pokemon threatens hydreigon.

      Doublade/Aegislash is perfect
      Ghost/Steel
      Resists: ice, dragon, bug and fairy
      Immune to fighting

      Now take a look at Doublade/Aegislash’s weaknesses:
      Dark, ground, ghost, fire

      Hydreigon Dark/Dragon resists dark, ghost and fire while being immune to ground due to levitate

      SO these two pokemon have perfect “synergy” as you can always switch one out for the other and don’t have to worry.

      When team building try to find pokemon that pair well with your pokemon by looking at it’s weaknesses and strengths. Try to go for good synergy! It doesn’t have to perfect but good.

      • So you can get even fanicer and use three pokemon that “synergize” well. For example: Fire/Water/Grass

        Also if you have high defensive pokemon with low special defence you want to pair it with a pokemon that has high special defence and low defense. If their types “synergize” well then you have a strong “core”!

        • Like you said, Chesnaught and Slowking. I’m getting it now. Switching is so important, need something that can take the hit, and works together with your other Pokemon’s weakness to be able to.

          • Yup! This is probably the most important thing I found in team building! EVs Nature and all that are important, but this is probably the one that has greater impact!

          • I just started getting into it since coming here and seeing everyone talking about it I thought what the heck I want to try didn’t think much of it before and never thought I would but I feel excited and you helped a lot 😀

          • To be honest, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher! I used to tutor a lot of people in school. And realized that I really enjoy it! Although I’m not professionally one, I love to teach! xD

          • Thats why I love PJ as well I found out about it earlier this year but I didn’t make an account till almost 2 months ago I just wanted to make sure before I created something I use to go on serebii and pokebeach still do sometimes but something about this site just clicked everyone has been really kind.Thats great I think you do amazingly at teaching 🙂

    • Oh, I’ve decided I will try the other Robin moveset. It’s probably best to try it in battle, this way I’ll be able to compare it to the other moveset based on results.
