I still remember the first year the 3DS launched. It was one rough year, with barely any worthwhile games released for the system. After half a year a massive price cut was issued and people thought Nintendo were doomed forever. Nintendo put all their effort in making the 3DS the success it should have been. After a lukewarm 2012 Nintendo tried to hit back with big hits in 2013, one of those being Pokémon X & Y.
People were saying for over two years that they would never the failure that is 3DS, but the tides seem to have turned looking back at the recent hardware sales. Now I ask you: did Pokémon pull you over? Or did you already have a 3DS well before Pokémon was even announced? Or were it multiple games that made you buy it but Pokémon was the decisive factor? Tell me all about it in the comments!

I bought it for Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts 3D, and Kid Icarus Uprising. Plus, the fact that it’s a Nintendo system means that it will end up having a great library.

I seriously have no idea how many 3DS games I have… I never took the time to count. BTW SSB3DS better be just as good as it’s WiiU counterpart.

I bought the 3DS very soon after it first came out. I didn’t get it for Pokemon though, I knew that would come in due time. I just got it because it was Nintendo’s next handheld system. The thing is, I hated the 3DS after using it. Turning the 3D on would make these lines appear on my screen that I’d have to rub to make them go away, the whole thing felt made of cheap plastic (especially the D-pad and L/R buttons). The stylus was in a stupid position. Etc. But I tolerated it because I enjoyed playing games like Mario Kart and Mario 3D Land. Eventually the XL came out, but didn’t have enough money to purchase it. Spent some time watching a bunch of reviews, and fell in love with the system. After saving up, I purchased it and its become my favorite handheld system. Stylus is back in the right position, The L/R buttons felt better, the control pad felt A LOT better, I didn’t get any stupid lines when turning on the 3D, etc. Now I’m enjoying playing Pokemon Y on it ^_^
YES somebody else with that problem when you turn 3D on! I thought I was going mental!
My L button barely works due to Kid Icarus: Uprising… And I have those lines when I turn on the 3D which I never do since it drains battery.
I got my purple 3DS as a limited time bundle on QVC earlier this year that comes with Sinnoh Stylus Starter Pens, and Super Mario 3D Land. But “X” is technically the first game I bought for it.
Also put one my shiny electrodes up on GTS for a Zapdos and got one in about 5 mins lol, japanese/rash natured.

90% of the time you can get one from GTS by depositing a starter pokemon lol. I bred a froakie and put it on GTS and got a japanese ditto.
IMO its easier finding shinies in safari then breeding them though
But does safari raises chances of shiny?
i think safari has same chances of masuda breeding if not HIGHER. I noticed that when the owner of the electric safari I was in was online I found shiny luxio 8 random encounters later.

lol yeah a friend of mine is getting jealous and thinks im hacking them – i’m like – don’t get jealous because i catch 1-2 shinies a day. I can’t help that I like grinding in the safari til I find one lol. Seriously, its impossible to hack shinies to this game.
I once heard if your trainer ID ends with 8 it makes it easier to find shinies but I just debugged this myth cause mine ends with 4. It may just be my luck or it may have something to do with my trainer ID lol. I found it in 40 mins.

i havent tried chain fishing for shinies yet – but someone here has about 9 shiny fish so it should be easy. I have to give it a shot.
