Dae asks: What do you want to see from my XY review?

I’m still alive! I had a really rough week this week, and mostly four hours of sleep each day. I hardly had the time to check my computer, let alone do something meaningful (sleep deprivation isn’t very helpful when writing articles).

Yet, after I finish doing some important homework, I will get back to writing my XY review. I don’t plan to write a review like most gaming site do, but more of an extensive opinion piece comparing the game to the ones who came before it. I’ll write a bit about the new direction they are seemingly taking and how they try to accomplish that and will give my opinion on all the changes and new stuff to see what I think works and what could use improvement. I’ll try to only include mild spoilers, so I won’t discuss story in detail or anything like that.

That brings me to my question of today: where would you like to see me focusing on? Are there any points in the game that stood out for you, be it positively or negatively? Any suggestion are greatly appreciated :).

I don’t know when the review exactly will hit, seeing as I’m still a busy man. It most likely will be around Monday. I’m revealing new details for PJN Magazine very soon, based on all the feedback I got. I got like 140 replies, with only a few trolls, so the interesting seems to be there.

See you then. In the mean time, start commenting below. Also try to keep XY playthrough spam to a minimum, or else… 😉

  1. Your opinion. What you truly thought of the game. I want see what you thought of the Roller Skates, the battles, the 3D nature of the game, and what you thought of the 69 pokemon.

    • As for the 3d, I love the graphics but don’t use 3d. I love the roller skates, but use the bike more. Only 69 pokemon didn’t bother me too much because quality = 100 times quantity. I love all the designs. My favorite features were pokemon amie and super training.

  2. Dive into the details of what you thought of the game and the “special hints” thrown around from hoenn and the possible gen 7

  3. it’d be interesting to see your opinions on the more in depth details of the game: how do you feel about the ease of finding shinies? how do you feel about the longer campaign? how do you feel about the changes made to the type chart? things like this i’d like to see someone’s opinion on these sorts of topics

  4. The PSS, definitely this feature. It’s such an improvement over having to go to the Pokemon Center, and connects you to so many people. Would like to hear your thoughts on it, and how you think they might be able to improve it further.

  5. Online features are probably the one I want to see focus on like PSS! All of the reviews available online talk about the in-game. None of the reviewers had the time to talk about how good/bad the online features were because at the time, few people had the game. How integrated is the pokemon community through this feature? Good points, bad points and improvements you would like to see in a sequel to PSS!

    • These are really just building up and my speculative mind is just going out of control. All I wanted from this generation was a Dragon Eeveelution!! If I can get one through a mysterious method later on I will be so complete.

  6. Talking about the improvements of X & Y from older series and the new features (PSS, Super Training, and Pokemon-Amie). Talk a little bit about the story (Don’t reveal much for people who dislike like spoilers). Lastly, your personal thoughts on the game! 😉

  7. You should talk about your new favorite battle models, and your favorite song/theme, the flow of the game, and just your opinion on how good the game was.

  8. I thought of a really good move set for Hoopa, after seeing it’s description:
    Hoopa, the Sound Wave Pokemon
    Psychic/Ghost
    1’3″
    6 lbs
Hoopa are blind, and use echolocation to find their way. It sends out pulses from the rings on it’s body, which can subdue foes.
    .

    Sooooooooo:

    Boomburst
    Metal sound
    hyper voice/ perish song
    grass whistle/ sing.

    What do you think?

        • you can run, it doesn’t need to be the same pokemon repeatedly. just fish and run until its shiny. also, don’t move, and finding a shiny ends the chain. contrary to popular belief, this works at any spot you can fish. they’ll tell you it only works on spaces enclosed by rocks and such. I found: Clawitzer: middle of the sea on route 8, Seaking: Parfum Palace courtyard, Gyarados: in a stream on route 22, and Basculin: on the shore of a river in the pokemon village.

  9. ok, shiny mega gyarados is all red. every detail other than its tan underside and white wings is just different tones and shades of red.

  10. If GameFreak really wanted to turn competitive battling on its head, they’d introduce a limit as to how many times you could withdraw your Pokemon during Wi-Fi battles.
