Pokémon X & Y Coverage (UPD)

This post contains spoilers for Pokémon X & Pokémon Y. The comment section of this post will also contain spoilers for the upcoming games. Do NOT proceed it you wish to avoid details on the game.

This is now our X & Y coverage post, while we’re still covering, below will be a compilation of all our discoveries and findings from the game, which will later be compiled into our latest project (stay tuned)! It’s worth noting that we’re taking our time with the games, we’re keeping an eye out for interesting changes and updates, and we also have a full team of staff working away in the background gathering information for our upcoming project.

Remember, if there’s anything you’d like us to check out please let us know in the comments, and feel free to talk to us in the PokéJungle Chat (or access it by clicking the green tab in the bottom left of this window) as well as Liking us on Facebook, Following us on Twitter and registering on our forums. Please remember to follow our Community Guidelines too!

Oldest updates are at the top of the list, and latest at the bottom – the second spoiler contains story details.

NOTE: Disqus comments have been fixed again. Hooray!

UPD: We’ll continue our coverage starting next week. Most of the staff have beaten the game and expect opinions article to pop up the coming days. My very own review will hit around Wednesday. Also, keep your eyes out tomorrow October 20th for a very special announcement regarding Pokejungle. It’s the project I’ve been teasing for a while (unrelated to the other mysterious project). What could it be? The first person guessing right in the comments (I won’t tell if it’s right or wrong though) will earn a special prize. See you tommorow. ~Daedardus~

Story

• The Laverre City Gym is run by Leader Valerie, who specialises in Fairy Type Pokémon, she awards you the Fairy Badge and TM99 Dazzling Gleam. She uses the following Pokémon
• Mawile Lv.38
• Mr. Mime Lv.39
• Sylveon Lv.42
• After defeating the Gym your friends tell you to meet them in the Poké Ball Factory to the north, Shauna and Trevor are then chased away by the Team Flare Grunt who was previously blocking the gates to the factory
• When you enter the factory Team Flare are occupying it, Serena says she will take care of the first Grunt and you should head further into the factory, where more Grunts are waiting to challenge and dispose of you. NOTE: The Poké Ball Factory features 3D
• A woman in a small room on the top left of the walk way will heal your Pokémon for you. You must reverse the direction of the conveyor belt so you can access a room in the top left of the walkway. When you access the room Team Flare Admin and Scientists are found harassing the President of the Poké Ball Company
• First Team Flare Admin challenges you to a battle, followed by a double battle with you and Serena VS Team Flare and Celosia and Bryony. When you defeat them the President will award you with a Master Ball and a Big Nugget. Before you leave the factory your friend appear again and tell you that Dendemille Town is the next place you should visit. Finally, as you exit the factory a Holo Clip is received with an emergency announcement that the Poké Ball Factory has been attacked
• As you progress along Route 15, you will eventually receive a Holo Clip from Lysandre, who poses several questions about the theories behind Mega Evolution. Even further along the route the player can explore the Lost Hotel
• When you enter Dendemille Town Professor Sycamore and Dexio appear and begin talking about Xerneas or Yveltal and then leave. Trevor then appears hoping to have caught Sycamore, but then travels to the Frost Cavern in search of Pokémon
• Next the player heads north to the Frost Cavern, where they encounter a Mamoswine that seems to sense something is amiss in the Cavern
Dae’s notes:
• The hairstylist in Lumiose only has three (male) options the first time you visit. Very Short, Short and Medium. If you get around ten haircuts, she’ll comment how fabulous you are consequent times you visit and you’ll unlock a new hairstyle: Medium Perm. There are bound to be more haircuts, but they are kinda hard to find. I experimented a bit and will let you know when I found out more.
• Not sure if we mentioned it already but there must be a coupon for shopping clothes somewhere. Some people mention it but I have no idea where to get it. The plot thickens…

• I hate Close Combat too xD I don’t want to lower Chesnaught’s defenses :O
And thanks! Sylveon’s moveset probably isn’t final.

• Hey TC, sorry about the wait. For some reason the website wouldn’t let me reply. So I ended up getting a charmander female on GTS already. But I’m all out of female chespins at the moment. Give me some time I’ll breed another one for you, but do you happen to have a doduo, abra, bagon, smeargle or electrike? I’d give you chespin female for any of those.

3. Do we ever get to battle Serena (Female Rival, think it’s Calem if you’re playing as the Female in the first place)? I feel like I missed an opportunity to battle her back near the Battle Chateau. She said let’s all have a battle, and I clicked Yes, and so it was me and her vs. Trevor and Tierno. I wonder if she would’ve been my opponent had I clicked No…

• That made me laugh sooooooooooooooo hard when she said that. Much more of a funnier noob than Bianca was. But Bianca did become rather *ahem* sexy and smart in B2/W2.

• I facepalmed lol. I was like, not another idiot. It also annoys me that she loves me. I thought it was Serena that would confess her love at the castle. But nope, I got the dumbazz instead.

• Yes and soon but it may include spoilers so I’m not going to tell you 😛 She wouldn’t have been your opponent since it was set to a double battle.

• @Arcehops127 I cleared the Power Plant so what do I do now?

@TCMets I see people walking past him and behind him also the lights are on I’m like “where is the blackout??” XD

• I have no idea why the website won’t let me reply to your previous post. But yeah bagon’s great. I’d prefer a female, but I really don’t mind. I’m on the job for a second female chespin. I still haven’t gotten the 2nd badge xD. I think I’m just going to breed for a while!

• awesome. Oh btw so I heard Chespin’s hidden ability is bulletproof. It protects the pokemon from “ball” and “bomb” moves. In other words it’s immune to Sludge Bomb and Shadow Ball……looks like we have our Gengar counter in the wakes xD

• I think it’s great! Because most of those are very common moves and TMs plus they are special (chespin has good defense but not sp.def). I’m hoping that it’s also immune to “blasts” like focus blast. It would make sense. Having an immunity to probably sludge bomb, focus blast and shadow ball…is AMAZING! Because then it flat out puts a full stop to Gengar and Mega Gangar.

• Great to hear! I love Quilladin! But I was scared when I first heard it. Wasn’t expecting its cry to sound so deep xD Went from high pitched Chespin cry to this deep sound lol.
What’s Chesnaught’s stats?
My Quilladin’s stats are:
79 HP
66 Attack
78 Defense
36 Special Attack
57 Special Defense
45 Speed

• 4296-2994-0883. Also, I’m getting some hidden ability Pokemon from the Friend Safari, just caught a female Fletchinder, for instance, maybe for some breeding in the future. I also got a female Xatu with the hidden ability too. Still working on others.

4. I’m not sure if anybody said this already but for those of you asking about Psychic… The TM is in Pokemon Village! UP the waterfall next to Mewtwo’s cave and to the left!

5. Okay, so…I haven’t been around here very much in the past few days, mainly because I was playing X all the time (Me and my friend did 18 hours straight). Anyways, I already finished every part of the main game. Now, I just have to catch Mewtwo and, frankly, them all.

To the people I battled against: Thank you everyone for asking me to battle! It helped me coordinate my team, which is now in amazing shape. I just got Noivern and Aegislash to complete my list, and I couldn’t be happier! I will perfect strategies and movesets later on.

To everyone: Overall, this game has been incredible! Not exactly the most memorable story ever, but I did get emotional at the part with (SPOILER) “AZ” getting reunited with his Floette (/SPOILER). My favorite themes so far are the Victory Road theme, and the Couriway City/Town theme! And when I went into that one house in Snowbelle and talked to that random person…hearing the Jubilife City theme made me cry nostalgia tears.

I will be playing whenever I get the chance for the coming months, so whenever you guys want to trade, battle, game chat, whatever, hit me up.

Now, onto the more important topic: WHERE IS DISQUS? WHAT IS THIS CRAP?

6. Has anyone figured out exactly what was supposed to make shinys easier to find? Like percentage increase wise? The first Pokémon I ran into after getting surf was a shiny tentacool. Just curious. Plus did I miss all the friend code exchange. – A guest poster and daily visitor 🙂
