This is now our X & Y coverage post, while we’re still covering, below will be a compilation of all our discoveries and findings from the game, which will later be compiled into our latest project (stay tuned)! It’s worth noting that we’re taking our time with the games, we’re keeping an eye out for interesting changes and updates, and we also have a full team of staff working away in the background gathering information for our upcoming project.

Remember, if there’s anything you’d like us to check out please let us know in the comments, and feel free to talk to us in the PokéJungle Chat (or access it by clicking the green tab in the bottom left of this window) as well as Liking us on Facebook, Following us on Twitter and registering on our forums. Please remember to follow our Community Guidelines too!

Oldest updates are at the top of the list, and latest at the bottom – the second spoiler contains story details.

NOTE: Disqus comments have been fixed again. Hooray!

UPD: We’ll continue our coverage starting next week. Most of the staff have beaten the game and expect opinions article to pop up the coming days. My very own review will hit around Wednesday. Also, keep your eyes out tomorrow October 20th for a very special announcement regarding Pokejungle. It’s the project I’ve been teasing for a while (unrelated to the other mysterious project). What could it be? The first person guessing right in the comments (I won’t tell if it’s right or wrong though) will earn a special prize. See you tommorow. ~Daedardus~

Story

• The Laverre City Gym is run by Leader Valerie, who specialises in Fairy Type Pokémon, she awards you the Fairy Badge and TM99 Dazzling Gleam. She uses the following Pokémon
• Mawile Lv.38
• Mr. Mime Lv.39
• Sylveon Lv.42
• After defeating the Gym your friends tell you to meet them in the Poké Ball Factory to the north, Shauna and Trevor are then chased away by the Team Flare Grunt who was previously blocking the gates to the factory
• When you enter the factory Team Flare are occupying it, Serena says she will take care of the first Grunt and you should head further into the factory, where more Grunts are waiting to challenge and dispose of you. NOTE: The Poké Ball Factory features 3D
• A woman in a small room on the top left of the walk way will heal your Pokémon for you. You must reverse the direction of the conveyor belt so you can access a room in the top left of the walkway. When you access the room Team Flare Admin and Scientists are found harassing the President of the Poké Ball Company
• First Team Flare Admin challenges you to a battle, followed by a double battle with you and Serena VS Team Flare and Celosia and Bryony. When you defeat them the President will award you with a Master Ball and a Big Nugget. Before you leave the factory your friend appear again and tell you that Dendemille Town is the next place you should visit. Finally, as you exit the factory a Holo Clip is received with an emergency announcement that the Poké Ball Factory has been attacked
• As you progress along Route 15, you will eventually receive a Holo Clip from Lysandre, who poses several questions about the theories behind Mega Evolution. Even further along the route the player can explore the Lost Hotel
• When you enter Dendemille Town Professor Sycamore and Dexio appear and begin talking about Xerneas or Yveltal and then leave. Trevor then appears hoping to have caught Sycamore, but then travels to the Frost Cavern in search of Pokémon
• Next the player heads north to the Frost Cavern, where they encounter a Mamoswine that seems to sense something is amiss in the Cavern
Dae’s notes:
• The hairstylist in Lumiose only has three (male) options the first time you visit. Very Short, Short and Medium. If you get around ten haircuts, she’ll comment how fabulous you are consequent times you visit and you’ll unlock a new hairstyle: Medium Perm. There are bound to be more haircuts, but they are kinda hard to find. I experimented a bit and will let you know when I found out more.
• Not sure if we mentioned it already but there must be a coupon for shopping clothes somewhere. Some people mention it but I have no idea where to get it. The plot thickens…

1. Are we any closer to getting Disqus back?

2. I have a question… I saw trainers on GTS requesting for a Darkrai , Deoxys , genosect or for others starters like trecko , piplup how they saw that pokemon in X or Y?

3. Is it worth it to keep my Helioptile as it is for a while or would it even matter if I evolved it? I’m just wondering if it learns any worth while moves as a Helioptile.

• I kept mines as Helioptile until Lvl: 58 then evolved it….my moveset is Parabolic Charge, Air Cutter, Thunderbolt and Surf. So really as soon as you learn Parabolic Charge id say its fine to evolve it since TBolt is by TM. However it is pretty decent as it is if you give it the Eviolite like i did.

• Helioptile is frail in the physical department, but has amazing stats with speed, Sp. Attack, and Sp. Defense. I recommend keeping it, but Super Train it if you have to. And wait till you get the Thunderbolt TM, then it’ll start getting better. And it learns Surf 🙂

7. Hey guys, I need some help. Does anyone know what video editing software guys like JWhittz, MunchingOrange, ArticLightningLPs, Dookieshed, or anyone else use? It’s a long story as to why, but I’d appreciate your help.

I know that I am late to this whole add me thing but I didn’t have reliable WiFi during the initial post. Sorry. I just got X and I want to have some people to trade and battle. Sorry that I am so late. Gomen nasai, Gomen nasai.

10. @TCMets, yes Sp. Attack as well. I recommend Sp. Defense over Sp. Attack because Sylveon has higher Sp. Attack than my Greninja.

• What I found is that your team is better leveled the earlier you get all six. And Greninja has a small, but amazingly versatile moveset. Hydro Pump, Dark Pulse, Ice Beam, and Extrasensory is a fantastic movepool in my book XD Annnnnd it learns Nasty Plot.

• Awesome haha, but then who has Surf? As for me team, currently it’s Quilladin, Female Meowstic, Pancham, Pikachu that knows Volt Tackle, Fletchinder, and Vivillon. Quilladin, Meowstic, and Pancham are definites on my team. The other 3 most likely I’m gonna replace. I’m thinking of Dragalge, Amaura/Sylveon as possible replacements. But I need a flyer. I don’t know if I want to keep Fletchinder or go with Charizard. My team has no Megalutions lol =/

Reply
• Heliolisk has Surf, along with Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, and Protect. If you have X, then go for Charizard, otherwise keep Fletchlinder. Sylveon has amazing stats across the board, and Amaura if have yet to use. Use Dragalge if you don’t use Charizard X. 😀

• Aha, Heliolisk. I just caught a Helioptile a little while ago. What moves does it learn before evolving?

I’m playing Y, but I’ll be trading over a Charizard X Mega Stone tomorrow so I have it in my game. I’ve really liked Fletchinder so far, but I really want to use a Megalution xD If only the Mawile Mega Stone was available before the post-game =/

• Greninja doesn’t learn Nasty Plot by level up or Egg Move. People tried breeding a male nasty plot slowking with female froakie. Doesn’t work!

11. Okay so i have come to the conclusion that Doublade is actually better than Aegislash! Crazy you may say but let me explain…
My Doublade is holding an Eviolite so its stats are as follows:
HP- 167
A- 173
D- 369
SA- 82
SD- 150
S- 77
However Aegislash (i evolved after saving but i think i will revert to Doublade) has these stats in its Shield/Sword modes:
HP- 168/168
A- 94/226
D- 246/101
SA- 89/221
DS- 234/102
S- 107/107
So in reality even in Sword mode it doesn’t gain much more Attack power that warrants such an enormous drop in Defence… Sure it gains in speed but Speed really isnt even worth talking about with this pokemon. I mean i get that Aegislash adapts to it’s circumstance but i have to wonder if the gain in attack everytime you attack resulting in it losing its amazing defensive power is worth it when in reality a swords dance or two would pretty much equal it…the only real loss is in Special Attack but Aegislash isn’t really a special attacker movepool wise.
So what do you guys think? Should i keep Aegislash or go back to Doublade? Any advise would be greatly appreciated 🙂

12. @TCMets, Helioptile doesn’t learn very many good moves before evolving. He’s really frail, but has those good Sp. Stats and Speed. Luckily, we get Thunderbolt pretty early in the game!

• So far I have: Moonblast (BEST. MOVE. EVER.) Calm Mind, Shadow Ball, and Cut. I have Cut because of my desiring will to get the Dark Pulse TM. I plan on removing it sooner or later. I am hoping Sylveon learns Psychic and some kind of Special move.

• Was just browsing Smogon, so far they’ve uncovered this for Sylveon:

Level-Up Movepool

Lv09 – Fairy Wind
Lv13 – Quick Attack
Lv17 – Swift
Lv20 – Draining Kiss
Lv25 – Skill Swap
Lv29 – Misty Terrain
Lv33 – Light Screen
Lv37 – Moonblast
Lv41 – Last Resort
Lv45 – Psych Up

TM & HM Compatibility
Psyshock
Calm Mind
Toxic
Hidden Power
Sunny Day
Hyper Beam
Light Screen
Protect
Rain Dance
Frustration
Return
Dig
Shadow Ball
Reflect
Facade
Rest
Attract
Round
Echoed Voice
Giga Impact
Flash
Sleep Talk
Dazzling Gleam
Confide
Cut

• Lol, there are so many Pokemon I want to use, I can’t figure out who I want to make the final cut. I’ve been sitting here revising it now on a sheet of paper.

Now I’m thinking:
Chesnaught, Meowstic, Charizard X, Lapras, Pangoro/Sylveon/Doublade/Aegislash.

Reply
• I wouldn’t use Pangoro because of Chesnaught. But I cannot decide between Doublade and Aegislash. Sylveon will be a valuable member of your team, especially against Team Flare.

Reply
• But I really like Pangoro ;( I’m thinking of having a moveset of Poison Jab, Crunch, Sky Uppercut, and Strength (for the overworld) on it.

As for Sylveon, outside of Moonblast and Shadow Ball (which my Meowstic will have), I don’t see any other good moves for it. Maybe Misty Terrain? What’s that do again?

13. @TCMets I have yet to dive into super training…. terrible i know but i will wait til post league to delve into that particular area of the game. Will just need to grab a hold of 6 of those “revert to 0 EV’s” training bags if i can get a hold of them lol
With Aegislash i have to wonder if there is a trick to it since low speed upon entering would result in taking the attack in shield form then you attack and change to sword mode then next turn use King’s shield which has +4 priority to revert to shield form and protect yourself as well as potentially lowering the foe’s attack and then starting over again from there so really taking very little damage while dealing out masses yourself and also potentially lowering the opponent’s attack….maybe Aegislash could work out after all? What do you think?

• I was mauled by one in a Link Battle. I think it’s very great! What level does it evolve at? It doesn’t look so bad either…

Reply
• You have to use a Dusk Stone… but yeah the more i think about it the more i think it could actually become a destructive tank…. unique in that it can serve both needs at once. I have decided to just go ahead and evolve it but will see about getting some reset bags first and super training all my pokemon before the league.

Reply
• Yeah what do you think of these EV’s for each pokemon:
Greninja: 252 SA, 252 S, 4 A
Charizard X: 252 A, 252 S, 4 SA
Doublade/Aegislash: 252 D, 252 HP, 4 A
Sylveon: 252 SA, 252 HP, 4 SD
Auroris: 252 SD, 252 SA, 4 D
Heliolisk: 252 SA, 252 S, 4 SD

Reply
• Nice! I have been unlucky with reset bags and haven’t been able to EV train my entire team yet. Just Venusaur and Sylveon.

Reply
• Yeah i heard they are rare. Do you just get them by completing levels of super training over and over again?

• You can get reset bags but just mashing that default black bag. Random bags will appear, and eventually you’ll find reset bags. I’ve gathered 3 already.

14. @Pipealex, I don’t where the Manectric stone is…. But I can give you the Charizardite X on Friday-ish, and you don’t have to give me anything in return 😉
