I really like Aegislash, but ever since I saw it in the shield form, I can’t immediately see the purple tip on its sheets as being the “hands” (which are holding the shield), they just seem to be part of the shield itself. So I see the “hands” as being behind its head, so it’s like “nah man, I’m just chilling here, resting my head upon my hands like I just don’t care.”

so, if you use king’s shield and the opponent uses feint, do you think it’s attack stat will still drop?
Feint wouldn’t even work because it’s a normal type attack, and Aegislash is a ghost type.
very true – but, assuming a non-ghost type got it, or the attacker used foresight?
Well, if it used foresight, I dunno if it’s attack stat would drop or not, but it would still go to defense mode, and then feint wouldn’t do much damage against the steel portion of it. But chances are, no, their attack wouldn’t drop, because it’s a protect like move, and feint goes through those.
Yeah…I was just wondering how that will work. I guess the same for Spiky shield. Maybe they are trying to help feint out a little, ha ha.
Well, they did help it out a bit last gen by allowing it to do damage regardless, but they also weakened it tremendously as a result.
They did, but it’s still a very specialized move, best used competitively…at least now it has even more applications.

Goomy has done for me what literally no other Pseudo has done for me before. I have never felt the desire to, for example, train Deino into Hydreigon, or Dratini into Dragonite. This is the first time I’ve really felt the drive to evolve Goomy all the way into Goodra.
My Brother only wants a Goomy to stay a Goomy, he won’t evolve it

No, but it does evolve at an insanely high level, and initial numbering seems to suggest it’s BST is 600, which puts it right where it needs to be as a Pseudo Legend.

This generation is my favorite so far. While upsetting that there are less pokemon, it is also an advantage of X and Y. GF didn’t have to sit there and come up with the generic cave back, and the generic normals you constantly encounter. The designs are clean and to the point here, and almost everything feels necessary.
Not to mention almost every “bad” pokemon this gen redeems itself with its evolution. (See: doublade and binacle)
every new generation is my favorite…because it’s NEW! ha ha

5th was cool at first but later just started to feel like a generic rehash of gen 1.
It literally felt like they just took every pokemon and painted it over.
It is a good gen with a lot of Pokes though, Hydreigon being one example. *I have no intention to start a Gen war*
I still like a ton of pokemon from Gen 5, but I just felt overall they were underwhelming.
Admittedly, they were in the beginning. Then they started getting good around Pinwheel Forest IMO

I only know new pokemon too. I don’t want to have the region spoiled or plot. For me, the region is the best part of any pokemon game. I want to discover for myself the cities to explore.
I feel the same exact way. Somebody posted a tour of the region yesterday, refused to watch it.
It wasn’t a tour actually. Just a 3 minute video compiling some 20 second videos from a spanish review. Didn’t spoil much, but if you want to be entirely spoiler free I wouldn’t recommend it. If you just want a tiny taste for some gorgeous music and locations, then I would recommend it.
Oh, see I thought it was a tour the moment I saw him walk out of his house xD I then closed it and said not watching this. Now that I know, I still don’t want to watch it haha.

Well I can have it the earliest on Saturday or Sunday. I planned on playing Y that weekend on my XL. I’ll be playing X on my regular 3DS. Since I don’t take the XL out of my house because that’s my favorite system, I was going to play X on the bus on the way to and from school, and so Monday was when I initially planned on getting the Kanto Mega Stones.

Oh! I hadn’t considered playing through the game with only Grass types, but it sounds like an awesome idea! I might do that in one of my playthroughs of X 😀
What I meant though was that I’m working on a Grass type team of my favorites. So far I have Sceptile, Breloom, and Cradily. Chesnaught is a lock for number 4. It’s just so hard narrowing down the last two!

Even thought mega evolution is a big deal but I felt like Gamefreak sort of gotten lazy at finding new inspirations of making new pokemon for the Kalos region.

The amount of new evolutionary lines are almost the same of the generation IV; you just have to change the cross gen evolutions of generation four for megaevolutions and you’ll obtain the same amount of new Pokémon

Overall the whole E4 looks classy, beautiful and majestic. This games are so fabulous that I’m drooling all over myself

E4 types r sick, however i can’t tell how challenging it is, no knowing some of their pokés stats…

This is BY FAR the best Elite 4 lineup ever! Defensive steel type, Specially offensive fire type, Powerhouse dragon type and the bulky powerhouse that is the majestic water type <3

Well, every single one of these guys are using nothing but their type, and the water guy even uses Clauncher’s evo. I’d say there is a very strong possibility of it being Poison/Dragon.

Well, if she’s the final battle then Goodra is definitely the pseudo-legendary (common trend in pokemon is that the final boss has a pseud-legendary) although it does deviate from other pseudo-legendaries. It has no immunity and is more defensive.

If anywhere it would be Unova since an npc said Unova and kalos were once connected so if that train at the side of the map is going to another region my guess is anville town. But tbh i highly doubt well get another gen 2 style post game here considering how big kalos is itself.

Actually, there is an NPC in game who states the regions used to be connected. He says this while standing in front of a Zekrom Statue.
Then you obviously havent heard of the CHANNEL lol… quite a modern masterpiece of travel from France to London so u never know. and there is a train station at the east of the map.

I’ve already stated it. I don’t think it could be any amount of time passed since BW2 for N to be a crazy old Hobo man, but plenty of time for an already older Ghetsis who was said to have gone completely nuts after the end of the game to go white from age and stress, and let his hair grow out during this. And HES the one who named N that name. And why can’t we see his right eye? The same eye Ghetsis always had obscured by his monocle. Only kicker is how does he have the ability to mega evolve THREE Pokemon, but then again, maybe his insanity ended up granting him his path to redemption to bond with Pokemon as he never could before. That’s my angle. Plus, someone else noted that AZ are hte first and last letters of the alphabet, and N is the middle. And Ghetsis was N’s beginning, and he was certainly going to be his end had things gone as he had planned.

The problem is, most of us are already expecting to see a Z legendary. But don’t keep your hopes up. We might not see anything. There’s still a possibility that there is but there’s still a possibility too that we may not have it. Just don’t expect much co-trainers, ‘coz higher expectations lead to higher disappointments.
If not I expect Mewtwo as our “Z Legendary” !
That’s what I’m thinking as well. Xerneas and Yveltal are #148 and #149 that’s why Mewtwo can be the #150 in the Kalos Dex since he is already confirmed to be catchable in-game because of the version exclusive megastons.

How can you be sure that Yveltal is the last one in the Dex? They could’ve changed the order around so that the Pokémon you catch post-game come after Yveltal in the National Dex.

Just because the Pokedex ended with Yveltal doesn’t mean there aren’t any Pokemon after it, the player just haven’t encounter and register it yet. Yes, even though 3-5 pokemon might exist after 717, bring it up to 70+, but hey, the more the merrier right? Watch as they blow your mind just as they did with Mew in the beginning.

mega evolutions hardly count, though, because they’re only during battles :(. it’s a LOT more exciting to get new pokemon you actually keep outside of battle, imo. i’m pretty disappointed by only 68ish new pokemon, too. older generations always had around 100-130 new pokemon and yes, i include new pre-evolutions and new evolutions to old pokemon because it’s still /new/ and you get to keep them outside of battle.
i’m still excited for the game, but hype has decreased a lot thinking there’s only 68ish new pokes. the excitement in new pokegames, for me, was always seeing the new pokemon over everything else. new pokemon are just exciting. i can never have enough, there are tons of cute and cool designs that could be made. and i want them.

Gen 1 didn’t have postgame at all.
Gen 2 had going back to Kanto, I’ll grant you that. But by the time you got there you outleveled everything like fuck and could power through Kanto in like 40 minutes, and you could already catch most of the pokemon there.
Gen 3 had Battle Frontier.
Gen 4 had a couple of pretty short routes, and Battle Frontier.
Gen 5 had a couple short routes, an empty bridge or two, and what is pretty much battle frontier.

While I’m definitely not boycotting these games, they look amazing and I need my Chespin…I do have some disappointments.
Unlike a lot of people, I don’t care about the 69 new Pokemon. That makes me pretty happy because it’s getting to be a lot, and I think GameFreak realizes that. I also love just about all of the new designs. Then you take into account that this total doesn’t include Mega Evolutions, and it’s well over 69.
What I am unhappy about though in regards to the new Pokemon is there’s only 1 new Poison type. As a person who really hasn’t liked too many of the previous Poison types, I was hoping there’d be a wider selection of them to choose from this time around since they were getting a buff with the advantage over Fairy.
As I’ve voiced here before, I really hate the direction GameFreak has been going since Generation 5 began. Gym Leaders should not be restricted to 3 Pokemon, where’s the challenge? And now I find out the “Elite” 4 are restricted to 4 Pokemon, c’mon man. Winona had more freaking Pokemon than the Elite 4, and she was a 6th Gym Leader!! At least let a Challenge mode be available from the beginning for us more experienced players, but unfortunately that’s not the case =/
Some Pokemon are getting Mega Evolutions when they could’ve really used a regular Evolution first. I love Megalutions, but I don’t like it as a replacement for regular Evo’s.
Poor Goomy remains a pure Dragon. It looked like it had so much potential to be Dragon/Poison or Dragon/Fairy….I still love it though!! Just disappointed by the final typing.
Last, but certainly not least, the apparent lack of a post-game. I would hope we can re-battle gym leaders, but I doubt it.
The only other thing that could disappoint me at this point would be if the Z legendary isn’t at least part Poison type.
Now that I look over this, it looks like I’m just hating on the games. But I’m not! I think they’re still going to be really good, this was just some of my personal disappointments from expectations that I had.

In terms of the number of new Pokemon this gen- I think we all have to remember that GF promised us this game was going to be different, they were changing it up. If that means better Pokemon designs and sacrificing the amount of designs, then so be it. I’d much rather see great Pokemon that will become my favorites than just have 30% or more of this gen’s pokes be filler pokes.

That is true. The closest to filler in this generation are the single stage Pokemon, which there aren’t a lot of anyways, and each of those generally have a unique elemental combination, mainly fairy ones, and then Furfouh has the customizability and a really awesome ability.
If Pokemon continues for 100 years and introduces 120 new ones every 5 years, they’re be 2400 new Pokemon in 100 years. Maybe they’re putting the brakes on the series a little to strengthen the longevity of the series, and I don’t mind it.
filler pokes term shouldn’t even excist and there shouldn’t be any filler pokemon it makes no sense for the games itself, and Im going give this gen credit only once, if GF don’t put 50new pokemons from different part of Kalos or something to pokemon Z, then I’ll not buying first games from generations anymore, because everything what is good is in last version and in remakes.

Let’s not forget that there are undoubtedly hidden Pokemon, the event-exclusive legendary types. Keldeo, Meloetta, Shaymin, etc… we all knew about those immediately because we dumped the game code, but we weren’t supposed to know about them until they were revealed, sometimes /years/ after the game release. This time around, Game Freak’s able to keep them under wraps.
Sure, this isn’t going to elevate the count significantly, but there’s still more out there that we have no clue of, and probably won’t for some time.

It used to be at least. Just like it used to be a requirement for Attack to be the highest stat, but Hydreigon destroyed that requirement as well. Goodra is almost assuredly our Pseudo Legend.
Hydreigon had a high Special Attack, so it more or less kept the tradition with high attack, just special.

I saw the types of the Gen6 Elite 4 types (Steel, Fire, Water, Dragon) and saw a thin thread of connection between them, a sort of little story. Check this.
Take Steel. Make sword out of it by smelting in Fire. Cool the metal by dipping the sword into a barrel of Water. Stab Dragon. Then rescue the damsel in “distress”, the female Champion whose trump card is a Gardevoir.

kinda hard to explain, but its a way to exploit the “randomness” of the game by doing things at a specific time, down to the millisecond. you can guarantee shinies and decent iv’s this way.
So we don’t get to choose the order of the E4 this time around? that’s a relief, unova’s E4 was completely… pathetic with everyone the same level and whatnot. kinda wish they’d have 5 pokemon per team again though… guess beggars cant be choosers, these games will be amazing regardless!

Actually, the color scheme makes perfect sense. The beige coloration came from the inside of the shell. And since the whole Chespin line is based on Chestnut, having a shell is only natural. If you’re going to criticize, at least be reasonable.

So just to update you guys,
-Skrelp might evolve by leveling to 37 while having the move Camouflage.
-Josh is currently at the 6th Gym, and he will try to either power-level a new Skrelp or go to a move relearner after the 6th Gym.
-He is also leveling up his Flaaffy, because he was given an Ampharosite, and he is leveling up his Flabebe as well.

I’ve been avoiding the internet for a while because of the rage going around…”OMG THERE’S ONLY 69 POKEMON” and “OMG THERE’S NO POST GAME CONTENT”. I really don’t care. I would much rather the immense beautiful content that has been put into this game rather than having 30 additional unmemorable Pokemon shoved down my throat. I’m not sure about the no post game stuff (Pokemon has always had shitty end game features) but honestly, this game looks fun as hell.
In other news, I went to NY today. I couldn’t go to Nintendo World. The line was ridiculously long holy shit. I did go to Toys R Us though. I got a little Fennekin plushie. <3 I love it.

Yes, unfortunately. WTF is it…doesn’t look legendary. Also they went the Groud-Kyo-Rayquaza route…one legendary that ‘silences’ the other two.
It’s the Yggdrasil Wyrm that gnaws at it’s roots, Niohoggr/Nidhogg, and is the third creature associated with it, the other being the Stags and the unnamed eagle. And a Wyrm is thought of being something like a dragon, but they obviously made it more… worm/snake like than traditional dragon.

The ability of the Z Legendary seems pretty useless if it only effects 2 pokemon.

As a Naruto fan I can say this is Storm 3 all over again… People expected too much from this game (calling it the best game ever and so on..), but when info starts leaking, they get dissapointed.. Guys, just be happy that Pokemon are still here after so many years of FANSERVICE (Yeah, I’m also a Yu-Gi-Oh fan xD)

There are none. Only Pokémon that evolves from a previous generation is the Evolution Pokémon, Eevee.

I’ve thought this from the first leaked stuff that came out last Tuesday! It was conveniently right in the evening and from two random countries supposedly and the day before a big announcement. I telling y’all Nintendo and game freak are upping their social networking skills this round they learned from the last game. It doesn’t mean it had to all be fake but even in the videos Nintendo and game freak release it says “actual gameplay may differ/change” they could have sent out demo/review copies with an incomplete game and maybe even some fakemon of their own just to throw a fee curve balls to all of us fans that would go so far as to release the leaks a two weeks early. Why does everyone say it would cost too much money to do this !?!? You send out a hundred or less demo/review games around the world or just America and the rest is free publicity. In the big scheme it probably is going to make them a bigger deal for the big joke they pulled on all of us! And that means more publicity and more fans and more sells! Just sayin
