Mega Evolution: Who’s Next?

This post contains spoilers for Pokémon X & Pokémon Y. The comment section of this post will also contain spoilers for the upcoming games. Do NOT proceed it you wish to avoid details on the game.

When Mega Evolutions were revealed a couple of months back, fans were taken totally by surprise wondering what exactly we were being shown. Now that we understand just what Mega Evolutions are, we’re all guessing what Pokémon could be one of the select few to receive a Mega Evolution.

A while ago our close friend AAPF began researching trademark filings for Pokémon names. This research has previously uncovered Pokémon that have since received Mega Evolutions, and it seems highly likely that more Pokémon from this list will receive a Mega Evolution.

The following Pokémon have all had trademark registrations made for their names since the release of Black 2 & White 2, following the trend of other Pokémon with their names trademarked again there is a possibility these Pokémon will receive Mega Evolutions. Pokémon with a * next to their name have recently been confirmed.

  • Gengar*
  • Jynx
  • Gyarados*
  • Scizor
  • Tyranitar
  • Gardevoir*
  • Medicham
  • Banette
  • Abomasnow*
  • Kyogre
  • Kecleon
  • Latias
  • Latios
  • Pinsir
  • Aerodactyl*
  • Houndoom
  • Groudon
  • Aggron
  • Plusle
  • Minun
  • Sceptile
  • Rayquaza
  • Absol*
  • Heracross

It should be mentioned that this list is not a definitive list of Pokémon that could receive Mega Pokémon, that actual list could be a lot larger, or significantly smaller and we won’t find out until the games release. What Pokémon do you want to receive a Mega Evolution? Let us know!

  1. Hey pokejungle, for celebration the release of pokemon x y on the 12th, could you replace the sewaddle with goomy? It would be awesome!

        • Sewaddle is the cutest and objectively best first stage worm/bug thing of every gen, it will straight up slap your shit, and its little hoodie is edible, how baller is that?

Then it evolves into Senior Grumpy Dumpies, this bro is constipated all the time, which is cute, and it’s a great change of pace from the standard sentient cocoon, though it has less moves than Flareon.

And it evolves into Leavanny, this b***h wears the swaggest leaf ensembles ever created, even its arms are leaves, it don’t get fresher than
          that!

Plus it wrecks shit, have you ever gotten your ass handed to you by someone wearing a victorian-era dress made out of leaves? You can’t just look a brotha in the eyes
after that, nobody wants to be known as the guy that got wrecked by a b***h wearing pantaloons.
It doesn’t just beat you, it breaks your spirit.

    • It kind of is weird, especially because you can catch it so much earlier than you ever could Deino. Plus, in a way, it’s almost REASONABLE, because you might actually naturally hit 70 right before you hit the CHampion, as opposed to you are entering your 50s, thus Deino’s FIRST form at the end of BW.

“If there’s much more to see, the game isn’t doing a very good job of signaling that it’s there.

    A couple of standing mysteries:

Multiple alternate doors to the Kalos Power Plant that I don’t know how to open.

The sundial in Anistar City looks super pretty and important but hasn’t been used for anything.

The Sea Spirit’s Den is an empty cave at the end of a Surf route that serves no apparent purpose.”
