      • Ive come to the conclusion that I’ll get y and my lil bro will get x. Hell get charmander with the megastone and trade it to me. Then he’ll start again and get his squirtle, then I’ll give a charmander back. Its a little long but in the end he gets a squirtle and charmander and I’ll get a charmander wih a choice of megastones!

  1. Am I the only one who actually prefers Charizard Y? It seems much more
    like a natural evolution, I don’t like Charizard X that much, it’s
weird. :/ I also don’t like the fire whiskers… And the colour scheme, meh. I
like Charizard the way it should be, Orange! That’s why I prefer the Y
version… Also, I like Y’s design better (even if X’s had the same
colour scheme). It’s Blastoise X that I’m worried, I bet it’s going to look
    awesome!

  2. I’ve already pre-ordered Y (basically for Skrelp) and now I’m kicking myself. SCREW YOU, SKRELP, YOU AIN’T NOTHIN’ COMPARED TO MEGA CHARAIZARD X.

  3. You know it’s obvious that charizard having all these mega egos is to lure back gen wunners into the games and buy the game merely for charizard I personally think he’s way to overrated but I do really like this mega Evo anyway I’m glad I’ve preorderd x even more now

  4. I wonder though if we can just trade MegaCharzardite Xs… or whatever haha, to get the X and Y version of it respectively

  5. Wow, jut when b think they can’t pull a fast on on us! I’m getting Y but I might have to get X as well if all Megas will have two forms! Also, what would a shiny Mega Charizard x look like if it’s already black?

  6. Streamer picked Bulbasaur, got a Mega Stone with no X or Y, so I’m guessing that Charizard will be the only of the three with a branching evo like this.

  7. how can it be in a sky battle if it’s not a flying type or the ability levitate? i know it has wings but i thought it also had to have one of those two things

    Reply
    • I think it was mentioned that certain Pokemon were able to be in Sky Battles aside from Flying types and Levitators. Or maybe it MegaEvolved in the Sky Battle.

  8. Okay, well they must know this obviously isn’t fair for Pokemon Y. They must have something just as awesome as a blue and black Mega Charizard Fire/Dragon type poke for Y- they wouldn’t just give one version what everyone has wanted without doing something for the other version.

    Reply
      • I know, but the average Pokemon player isn’t always going to care about the abilities- MegaCharizard X looks so different and awesome compared to the Y version for some people, so they may feel slighted for having chosen Y to preorder. I bet there’ll be some other awesome MegEvolution with a cooler form in Y to make up for this.

  9. Everyone is saying that you can just trade the X or Y megastone to the other version, but it might be the same stone that changes depending on the version it’s in.

    • This is what I was thinking initially but Mewtwonite comes in X and Y forms, leading me to think that there may be X and Y forms for other megastones too. But who knows, this may just extend to mewtwo

      Reply
      • Yeah, but if you transfer a megastone X to a pokemon Y game, it will become a megastone Y. So it’s impossible to ever have an X form in a Y game

        a theory, anyway

  10. thats it i am done, hype level just reach new heights after coming down i was onm the fence about mega evolutions but this is making me like them more, thats it i am done i see you guys next week with Y

  11. WHAT?! I never thought that they would be able to shock me again with something from X & Y, but they did. On top of that, they really outdid themselves: this is an amazing, exciting, and very satisfying reveal! I am so glad they did this, this has to be the biggest, best piece of fanservice the series has ever given us. Oh, and now I’m probably going to get X way sooner than I would have otherwise.

  12. I don’t know if this is just me but unlike Quilladin the Mega Charizard X in game model doesn’t do it enough justice

    • It looks like it has some trouble flying. XD
That’s what happens when you loose your flying typing.

But you’re right, I also think that it looks a bit better in official art than it does in game.

  13. I wonder what a shiny mega charizard X looks like then if a shiny charizard is already black? I’m feeling a dark purple or blue

  14. Someone live streaming the game, Frogadier’s stats at level 18:

    51 HP
    33 Attack
    29 Defense
    37 Special Attack
    27 Special Defense
    43 Speed.

  15. I really like Charizard X but what the heck happened to its wings?
I mean they are cool alright but he goes from having dragon wings and then get bird wings when he turns into a dragon? XD

  16. I was getting X anyway but this is just unfair to people who are getting Y. This would have also been a really cool separate Pokemon.

  17. Preordered Y, I dont care if I get banned for this. Nintendo, eat a bag of dicks!!!!! How dare you reveal this thing so late!! No, man thats going TOO far! I was pretty pissed when MegaMewtwoX was shown, but this! GAWD!!

  18. Seems not every trainer has a 3D model. Many of the NPC’s you battle only have that sprite-like model that talks before and after.

    Reply
    • They just don’t have a 3D intro. Everyone has a 3D model, that’s what’s running around in the game. They just don’t have the larger more detailed models like the main characters do.

  19. TM’s are seemingly in Gold Pokeballs now to differentiate them, I think. The stream is kind of fuzzy, so Im not sure, but I didn’t see any red.

  20. Now I’m wondering if the other Kanto Starters get two mega eves … or do all of the starters get two mega evos!?! I doubt it personally but I’m not a fan of all this inconsistency. Charizard X should have been the only Charizard mega evo.

  21. If you are watching the stream, take note that the frogadier has a lax nature, which decreases sp ef and increases physical def. Or is it the other way around, which higher special def than physical, cuz in that case, frogadier has a gentle nature. Also, people said that he ran away from a Shiny Pancham, but i missed it.

  24. Blastoise and Venusaur better get mega evolutions for Pokemon X too, it would be ridiculously unfair if only Charizard gets it, I know he is a fan favorite, but the other 2 have fans too.

  25. remember when mega charazard came out and people were like WHY IS HE NOT A DRAGON TYPE………………. troll freak strikes again!!!

  26. Okay I didn’t watch the Anime cause was in sixth form, can anyone tell me how Red mega-evolved his Charizard? (cause obvs he doesn’t have one of those mega bracelets)

  27. I think it’s said to say that game freak has done it again! NONE of us saw this one coming! However I know a dragon charizard is exactly what a lot of us wanted. This is so crazy

  28. This changes everything for me. I was sure I was gonna get Pokémon Y because I’m in Love with Yveltal but Charizard is my favortite Pokemon ever and this Mega Evolution is just amazing!! Well I guess I have 10 days to decide.

    • I know the feeling I was torn between the because I wanted metwo y,but I also wanted xerness……………. charazard is awesome the choice has been made

  29. Well… that’s unfair. I mean Mega Charizard X is quite impressive and I love the blue flames but it looks like fanservice to me. Everybody wanted a Fire/Dragon Charizard and now they have it. But what about Blastoise and Venusaur? Charizard ALWAYS gets a special treatment and is one of the most popular pokemons ever :(. Again not fair, not fair.

Oh and this is my first comment here (hope it’s not met with rage).

    • just wait man, did they say they weren’t gonna do Blastoise or Venusaur? No, so calm down a little. Personally I hate Charizard but I’m sure they’re aware of Venusaur and Blastoise’s popularity.

      Reply
      • This is what they should do… but so many mega evolutions :/ I thought that Mewtwo would be the only one with 2 mega evolutions but now it’s the same thing for the starters? I’m not even sure if all of them will get this treatment and we don’t know if this is only Charizard’s case.

        Reply
        • I don’t think charizard would be the only starter with this special treatment. At least I’m hoping. Venasaur mega evolution isn’t too different from normal venasaur.

  30. How can Mega Charizard X participate in Sky Battles if it’s not a Flying type and doesn’t have Levitate? And please don’t say because it’s freaking Charizard!

    Reply
    • Normal charizard is, however, and the mega-evolution doesn’t occur until it is selected within the battle. The pokemon eligible for sky battles are those “capable of taking to the skies,” as officially stated.

      Reply
  31. Also how is Charizard in a sky battle? He doesn’t meet the requirements! He’s not part flying anymore and he doesn’t have the levitate ability! whats going on?

  32. It was all a brilliant tactic. GF made the X exclusive Megas so much cooler (design and type wise) because they knew more people would want to get Y because of Yveltal!

    Reply
      • Sorry it’s just me speculating, now that it seems likely each mega will have an X form and Y form. And kind of going off over what goes with that pokemon Mewtwo y is psychic and Mewtwo x is psychic/fighting Mewtwo is a powerful fighter like in super smash bros. Charizard has always been a fire/flying/dragon now he gets the recognition y is fire/flying and x is fire/dragon. So I was thinking everyone wants a mega dragonite, I know I do, and to me dragonite isn’t the normal angry fire breathing dragon but more of a happy, tiny winged, dragon with antenna on its head. It made me think of a dragon fairy type. It’d be cool.

  33. I’m back on the site, but I’m steering clear of leaks and rumors for the time being. Seeing as this was officially revealed by Nintendo, I don’t feel quite so bad about being exposed to it (given that I saw it for the first time on Facebook, when I was caught unaware by the official Pokemon page…)
I have to say, X seems to be getting the really awesome version-exclusive Mega Evolutions. Say what you will about Mega Mewtwo X, but this thing is exactly what fans have been begging for: a Fire/Dragon-type Charizard with an incredible design and, from the looks of things, amazing stats.
On the topic of avoiding leaks, I would have appreciated if the evolutions of Swirlix and Spritzee were marked with a Spoiler image so that I didn’t accidentally run into them. PJ, I am disappoint 🙁

  34. Do we know if there really are different mega stones? Like a Y stone and a X stone? Has that been officially stated? I’m wondering if it is only determined by the game you are playing. You have the X-nite mega stone attached to X-pokemon and because you are playing in the Y game it changes to Y form and the same for playing in X version it would change to the X form. I watch both the Mewtwo video and the Charizard video and neither say you need a different only that one is on game Y and one is on game X when you use the mega stone in them. Help me understand please!

  35. I just want the rest of the kanto starters to have Version Exclusive Mega Evolutions aswell, I just think that too many over rate Charizard

  36. GF don’t make Kyurem the only member of the tao trio to have a unique type combination. Give us another Ice/Dragon Pokémon please.

    • I’ve yet to see an Electric/Dragon Yet. >.>. Also I don’t count Mega Charizard X because its just battle only. So Techincally there isn’t a Fire/Dragon either

      • I was about to say that Mega Ampharous ruined Zekrom’s unique type combination, but then you said that you don’t count Megas. I see your point. However, I’m still counting them anyway.

        Reply
        • I wouldn’t because they aren’t permanent evolution. I don’t even count formes has unique types because they formes of the same Pokemon

          Reply
  37. I thought not many people would get X because Y seems so much better because of Yveltal. *Hugs Masuda* Never have I been so wrong.

    Still getting Y though.

  39. He barely even looks like Charizard anymore but boy is he cool! Not to mention dragon type! Now Venusaur and Blastoise should get alternate mega evos of their own, or they can fuse into Venustoise!

  40. Am i the only one who really doesn’t like this? Charizard was never my favourite, and with these mega evolutions. What i dont get is, mega x is almost a new design to Charizard, where mega y is Charizard, but with a few more spikes… As long as Charizard doesn’t get preferential treatment and is the only one who gets this out of the kanto starters, i dont know what to know about it…

  41. High Attack + Tough Claws + STAB + Swords Dance + Outrage. I think we’re kinda in trouble, that is Charizard doesn’t faint before it has a chance to Mega Evolve.

    • Go, fairy type. Immune to outrage, Charizard is locked in outrage. Nowhere to run… But in all seriousness this thing’s a beast.

  42. even though i’m getting X, i still dont know whether or not i’m going to get charmander, i dont need 2 fire types(meaning torchic as the other)

  43. Now is that Mega Charizard X’s actual color or did Nintendo use a Shiny variant because I think that a Shiny Charizard is that color

    Reply
    • I’ve heard some people speculate that X will concentrate on strengthening the Mega’s new type and Y will concentrate on improving the Mega’s existing types. So Mega Ampharous is proabably Mega Ampharous X and Mega Absol is probably Mega Absol Y. I don’t know about Mega Mawile though, it just got a new type added, I don’t see it getting a Mega X forme, but who knows. Maybe Mega Mawile X will be Steel/Dark or revert back to Pure Steel.

      Reply
      • Aaah I get you….. But don’t you think it’s a bit unfair? I think X is getting the better deal? I mean take mega mewtwo x it’s typing is brilliant where as mega mewtwo Y just has boosted speed and special attack…. Which doesn’t make much difference you’d still use the same tactics to defeat it!!

        Reply
        • Y has Yveltal as well as Skrelp and Spiritzee. I think the games are even when it comes to popularity. Also, some people prefer the Y versions more because they look more natural.

          Reply
  44. Well, in a game that brings to the table a counter to the dragon type, I still openly prefer the Y version’s Mega Charizard, since it’s fire typing gives it a good resistance against the fairy. There would be no point in just go all the way to transform charizard in MCharX and have it stomped by a fucking jigglypuff. Even though it’s fire typing still eases the dragon’s weaknesses against fairy, the only fisical fire type attack (dragon attacks don’t hit fairy) worth a try is flare blitz, and to me it just doesn’t fit charizard too well, since it’s bulk is not that impressive. I’d rather keep a strong special sweeper, with a nice ability and that resists a type that will be a common sight in future metagames, assuming that people will be scared of dragons, thus bringing in their teams cute and bouncing pink balls (God, this simple thought is utterly disgusting)…
