[SPOILERS] Pokémon X & Y Details Leaking

THIS POST CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR POKÉMON X & POKÉMON Y

One lucky(?) fan has managed to get their hands on an early copy of Pokémon X. The individual has began posting images of the game on his private Instagram profile, revealing tonnes of new information about the games. All images below were taken by “Kosthedin”, open the spoiler to see gallery:

Below is a summary of all the details revealed by the individual.

  • That player has a Wii U in their bedroom
  • Chespin is the Spiny Nut Pokémon, its Pokédex entry is “The quills on its head are usually soft. When it flexes them, the points become so hard and sharp that they can pierce rock.“
  • There is a special shop that sells only Poké Balls
  • Fletchling #014, the Tiny Robin Pokémon has to evolution stages — “These friendly Pokémon send signal to one another with beautiful chirps and tail-feather movements.”
  • There are shops that specialise in hats and accessories, you can change your clothes in the Pokémon Center
  • Caterpie is #023 in the Kalos Dex
  • There is a Hiker who will trade his Farfetch’d for Bunnelby
  • You receive the roller skates before the first Gym
  • Viola is the first Gym Leader, she gives out the Bug Badge and TM 83, Infestation.
  • Vivillon is #022 in the (Central) Kalos Dex, Litleo is #057 and has one stage.
  • Quilladin #002, “It relies on its sturdy shell to deflect predators’ attack. It counteracts with its sharp quills.”
  • TM27 is Return
  • Seems you will get a Kanto Starter after defeating Professor Sycamore before second gym
  • Quilladin stats level 19 -> HP (53), Att (37), Def (43), SpA (31), SpD (30), Spd (26)
  • Seems a city blackout will prevent you from going somewhere
  • Day/Night cycle seems to return
  • Rollerskate park shown
  • Skiddo X dex entry: Thought to be one of the first Pokémon to live in harmony with humans, it has a placid disposition
  • Pancham X dex entry: It does its best to be taken seriously by its enemies, but its glare is not sufficiently intimidating. Chewing on a leaf is its trademark.
  • Bunnelby X dex entry: They use their large ears to dig burrows. They will dig the whole night through.
  • Furfrou X dex entry: Trimming its fluffy fur not only makes it more elegant but also increases the swiftness of its movements.
  • Pancham (level unknown) Atk: 26, Def: 21 SpA: 13 SpD: 19 Speed: 17 HP:37
  • Bunnelby (level unknown) Atk:14, Def:14, SpA:13, SpD:12, Speed: 17, HP:28
  • Skiddo, lvl11, Atk:21, Def:18, SpA:18, SpD:19, Speed: 20, HP:38
  • Snorlax is blocking a bridge
  • Kosthedin has stated that he has finished leaking for the night
  • He’s back, has leaked #114 Espurr (the Restraint Pokémon; The organ that emits its intense psychic power is sheltered by its ears to keep power from leaking out)
  • Key items in XY: Town Map, Adventure Rules, Roller Skates, Exp Share (grants exp to ALL pkmn in party), Lens Case, Spinklotad, PokéFlute

UPD1: Below are leaks that were found on 4chan and aren’t associated with the Instagram account. Take these with a grain of salt (not sure why, but some of the images stay flipped no matter what we try).

  • Fletchling’s evo is Fletchinder, Fire/Flying-Type. Atk: 36, Def: 36, SpA: 25, SpD: 32, Speed: 34, HP: 58 at lvl. 20
  • False Swipe is still TM (TM54), along with Protect and Hone Claws
  • Infestation is TM 83
  • TM screen now shows you what party members can learn selected TM
  • Insect badge revealed along with silhouettes of of a few other badges
  • Your ID now features how many PokeMiles you’ve walked
  • Some key items revealed: Town Map, Holo Caster, Adventure Rules, Roller Skates, EXP Share, Lens Case, Sprinklotad

  16. It’ll be interesting to see how the Pokedex varies throughout the regions in Kalos. Does Farfetch’d’s (?) return to a region’s pokedex mean he’ll be receiving an evo?? Really hope so! 😀 Also, Infestation sounds like a really cool bug move! Can’t wait for the games!!

    • This guy does seem to be very careful about posting stuff that we don’t know about, maybe he’s going through a spoiler riddled zone.

      Either that or he’s taking loads of pictures and saving them up so that he can post them all at once. If he does that then that would be his last act before being found out by Nintendo.

      • I don’t think they can since technically he now owns the game and is publishing pictures on his own personal account… its like when a book leaks…the publisher can ask them not to reveal anything but they can if they want to- freedom of speech and knowledge.

        • They can because it’s causing harm on the company by releasing information that the company does not want revealed yet. Doesn’t mean they will do it right away, and no court case is definite. However, they can threaten to sue and Nintendo has enough money to scare anyone off.

  164. The pictures of the dex are not looking good for there being only 70 new Pokemon. I’m seeing way too many old Pokemon than I would like. :/

    My favorite part of any new Pokemon game is training new Pokemon. I don’t want to train old ones that I have used a hundred times before, so having mostly older Pokemon is kind of ticking me off.

    • not unless hes grinding….basic to 1st is easy before the 1st gym but 1st to 2nd can take a bit more time…..usually around the 3rd or 4th gym depending how many pokemon you are training early on…

As much as I want to see EVERYTHING he leaks, I don’t know… for the first time, I’m actually considering trying to avoid all of this and be amazed when I’m actually playing the game myself.   434. While we wait… What is your favorite new feature so far? Mine is the customization! It looks so awesome and you can even have facial hair! It also lets you give you and your opponent a sense of what you are like. Also it gives a sense of realism. You shouldn’t be wearing the same clothes your whole life protagonist!

        • My main reason is because Hoenn is my favourite region and there are so many places in the game that deserve the updated graphics. Also, the games were before the Physical/Special change in Gen. 4 so they’re kind of annoying in that sense

          • Sure they were original in some aspects but when you think about their goals especially Archie’s they just sound stupid. He wants to expand the sea with Kyogre’s Drizzle but with the water cycle in effect it does nothing and just gives back to the sea from the sea. Maxie’s sounds more logical because he wants to get rid of the water in the sea causing death to tons of Water-types and giving more to civilization at a cost.

          • You Hoenn remakers are fucking retarded. It won’t happen because a.) the basis of all Pokemon games today is Gen III. Gen I and II was completely cut from it because of the re vamped system. b.) You can transfer a Pokemon from Gen III all the way to Gen VI unlike Pokemon from Gen I or II games. c.) They will always add something new to Pokemon games. It’s not a good enough reason for a remake of an old region that doesn’t need. If you want a Hoenn remake because of the phys/special split then I want another Kanto and Johto remake because of the Fairy type. See how retarded you sound? d.) anyone with half a brain would want the franchise to move forward instead of a constant cycle of remakes.

I guess some people are disappointed due to the lack of new Pokemon but the one leaker did clarify a lot of juicy information like stats and images. Now fakers have something to base off of though so be careful.

    • I’m not sure about the legal implications of it, but apparently Nintendo placed an embargo on revealing some info (new Pokemon, Starter Evos) until release date. I’m no legal analyst, so I don’t know if this applies to the public or just reviewers and professionals.

      Serebii and Pokebeach got sent cease and desist orders from Nintendo when BW came out, so nothing is out of the question. Fingers crossed for Chespin v.3 tomorrow though!

  893. Seems there are 17 Cities/Towns. And we can confirm the Pokemon League is that Castle near the center of the map that many speculated on. It does bring a nice nostalgic feel with Victory Road being right by a Town early in the game….Viridian 🙂

      Gym Leaders now run actual gyms where you train your skills.

      The Evil Team is Team Lucky, and their goal is to have the Game Corners put back into the Pokemon games. They constantly break the fourth wall.

      The only new Pokemon are your choice of starters which are Fairy, Dragon, and the new Mystic type, and the mascots a Steel/Fairy Pokemon based off of Titania, the Fairy Queen and a Mystic/Dragon based off the Ouroboros.

    • I think the reason they only let you have one save slot is so you don’t have a way of getting multiple event Pokemon for yourself. Or something. I mean, obviously you can get more by trading, but there’d be a lot more event Pokemon around if they let you get two per DS. you know?

          • Its not the point of hate. Its the point that he’s caught a few Pokemon and we can see how/when they actually evolve. Like he caught a Litleo pretty early in the game, Does that mean he has a low level requirement or does he need a Fire Stone? I’m also surprised he hasn’t seen Flabébé or Swirlix yet. Those are other Pokemon I wish to see the stats or abilities (in Flabébé’s case)

          • He also has yet to shown you rivals partner Pokemon as well. Does Serena get the advantage or does Shauna?

          • Hmm… I think Serena might get the disadvantage.
            If ya look at it this way, in the anime it seems obvious that Ash will get a Froakie. Serena was shown with a Fennekin in a scene so she might end up obtaining one. If the anime is following that logic, in-game Serena will have the Pokémon that’s at a disadvantage to the protagonist’s choice. That would explain why the Instagram leaker has a Froakie seen in his Pokédex. Well, that’s my theory.

          • Same. I feel like Bunnelby would be one of the quickest to evolve. I’m still wondering about the Beedrone as well as seeing how/when the Pokemon that have been released evolve

          • I don’t understand GameFreak’s bias against a Dark Type Gym. Ever type has had a Gym, with the exception of Dark and Fairy. Hell Fairy may even get their own gym this Gen. There are now more than enough Dark Pokemon to make a competent Gym. Not like back when it was introduced (Sup Jasmine and your three steel Pokemon lol)

          That being said, Clemont can throw us for a loops and be a Fairy Type gym leader, since Dedenne is both Electric/Fairy.

  959. So I have been asking my brother who studied business especially in the gaming community about this whole issue. He said most likely Nintendo is pissed off as no company likes a product sold before release date, it can hurt sales. Launch day sales are important for marketing and showing owners the ROI. Therefore, games sold outside of what was expected will be counted as lost sales. Nintendo doesn’t really lose literal profit but it does hurt them in other ways.

    We also most likely won’t get the game any earlier. It would be best to stop bugging companies, ratting out the stores, or getting involved with the feud at all. There are obvious procedures to be followed, as in they can’t just release a game whenever they want to. Just food for thought.

        • This happens all the time with local aussie games, a CEO of a games company confirmed it with a game that came out last year, a month ago the same thing happened.

          • I suppose it is not as enforced in Aussie but in other countries, specifically in the US, laws are very enforced. However, considering this is Nintendo, I don’t see them just allowing stores to break street date and fucking up their sales.

          • That doesn’t mean Nintendo doesn’t enforce anything. You said it is for competitive purposes but then Nintendo gets shit end of the stick. They’ll most likely pull the games from the stores.

            It can’t work like you insinuated otherwise stores would be abusing the shit out of it without retribution. Some stores leak for various reasons…from they made a mistake to trying to make a name for themselves….but it doesn’t work the way I think you think it works

          • Honestly i don’t get your attitude at all. What Tales is saying is that Big Companies (Such as Walmart, Gamestop/EB Games, etc) will not risk having the God hammer that is a Gaming Industry. Nintendo or Game Freak has full rights to prevent or ban a retailer from their list. If they don’t ban, they’re certain sue the pants off of them. Yet smaller franchise, such as the one that leaked in Canada, have some wiggle room to do it because they aren’t on the spotlight like bigger stores.

            He’s not saying no other store will do it, he’s saying that its fucking stupid to do so. The store might get a profit in the short-run. However, economics needs to be thought of in both short-term AND long-term. In the long-run, Nintendo could pull their products from their shelves or even sue the company for a good chunk of the profit it could had lost.

          • How should I know? I just disagreed with you in that once one store breaks street date they all can. Some might risk it. Most don’t. I doubt Nintendo handles things like this lightly.

    • only a few stores broke the release date, and only a few had the chance to pick them up before the stores stopped selling them, and only a few of the ones who managed to pick them up want to/are capable of leak.

      • Oh I’m totally fine with a more Fleshed out story.That being said, there are 16 towns/cities (includes the Pokemon League) and 14 points of interest (includes Victory Road). Which makes 30 all together.

        Half of thoses cities have gyms (8) than the League (9), and one is your hometown (10). So there are 6 cities/town that are left to explore and then other 14 points of interest.

        Unova is probably the biggest Region of the gens. In BW (BW2) there are 14(19) cities and towns. Yet, 22 (34) points of interest. That brings the total to 36 (53)

        • While i don’t lke to refer back to Gen 5 (note ive never played the sequels, heard they were much better) i generally hated how linear Black and White felt to me. the story was cool but it seemed…rushed. i would take fewer locations if it meant those locations actually played a role in the story. there was a desert and a construction site in black and white, both of which looked pretty interesting but were out of place and had little to no actual content within them.

          that being said. im sure most of these people are starter grinding because im sure youve seen everytime they post an image “LOL WHERE MY QUILLADIN EVO< WHAT LEVEL IS QUILLADIN WHI SINT IT EVOLVED YET”

Anyway, So we know Viola, Grant, Korrina are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gym (Respectively) and Clemont is the 5th.   1002. So far we know 42 Pokemon in X and Y. (inc. Fletchinder and Espurr). Hopefully later we’ll get to see Oorotto’s English name and more Pokemon. I know rumors are saying there’s 70 new Pokemon, but I think there will be more than 100 new Pokemon.

There are some people that enjoy seeing this information before they play so they know a little of what to expect so those people look for what they can find. If you don’t want to see it, don’t read it or look at the images. It’s as simple as that, dumbass.

  1015. Potential new info, no images, first of the potential leaks IMO that should be taken with a huge grain of salt, especially since the person mentioned Sylveon’s ability being Marvel Scale (even though it’s been confirmed to have the Cute Charm ability).

    – Doublade learns a move called “Chain Slash”.

    – When you groom Furfrou, it’s speed will increase and it’s defense will decrease due to weight loss from the fur being gone.

    – Flying Press is a pure-Fighting move that super effective against Flying-types. Pangoro can learn it. (and Hawlucha if it turns out to be legit just like the move)

    – If you show Professor Sycamore both Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y, he hints that there could be yet another roaming around Kalos. (Mega Z?)

    Sounds a bit too good to be true, but I’d love a Mega Mewtwo Z for the eventual Z version.

    Livestreamer picked Bulbasaur, didn’t get a version specific Mega Stone. So no version exclusives for the other starters. (Another leaker got a version specific Mega Stone when he picked Charmander)
    Charizard X can still be used in Sky Battles, despite loosing its Flying-type and not having Levitate… Hmm…

  1072. Damn! I was hoping Mega Charizard X would stay Fire/Flying. I dislike the typing a lot, but at least he’s better than Reshiram. I love him, and I’m so glad i picked X. Though, i think a physical charizard would have done better droping fire as a type, and becoming Dragon Fighting. I also hope that if Blaziken get’s a second Mega Evo, It becomes fire Psychic, ghost, or something cool. Mega Lucario Y, if we haven’t already seen it, should have a similar typing, or it should drop fighting and become Steel/Psychic
