In the preview for next week’s Smash, the narrator  teased us with “a new secret truth about Mega Mewtwo!” On a side note, the smash crew is seen talking about the Kalos starters in the preview as well; could it be leading to the starter evolution reveals…?

Pokémon Smash will be airing soon in Japan, this episode we’re not expecting much in terms of news, and as such we will not provide live coverage, a stream will be available below, however.

Corocoro Information

We know our readers are eagerly awaiting the latest issue of Corocoro and while there’s a little longer to wait, we thought we’d remind you of what you can expect this month… Rather than the usual few pages featuring new X & Y information, the issue this month will feature a separate booklet alongside the usual published pages.

The separate publication will contain information on new Pokémon and is said to feature a “newsflash” on Mega Pokémon. Somewhere in the issue the update type-chart for X & Y will also be published, meaning we will finally learn where Fairy-Type fits into the least of weaknesses, strengths and resistances!

We’re expecting all this information to hit around the 11/12 of this month, so keep your eyes on the site for what’s looking to be a huge X & Y scoop!

  1. So I’m guessing whatever the “new secret for Mega Mewtwo” is the “newsflash” for Mega Pokémon in CoroCoro will explain it! Can’t wait to get more details!

  5. I got Charmander, Squirtle, Mudkip, Cyndaquil, and Chimchar ready to be raised in Kalos! Along with about 50 legendaries that I could never part with, my shinies, and some other rare finds.

  6. Also, looking at some pics, I noticed that Shokotan, or “The KAWAII Girl,” seems to be battling Masuda! We should probably expect some battle footage next week too 🙂

Guys, I think there was a revelation about sylveon´s base stats, being Sp Def 130, Sp Atk 110, HP 95, Atk 65, Spd 65 ,and 60 Def. since you can deduce it from what is said from the effort o meter part of http://www.pokemonxy.com/en-us/whats_new/super_training/ and this pic. This is knowing that eeveelutions all have 130, 110, 95, 65, 65, and 60 of base stats spreaded across their stats. If its the same with sylveon, it mighy be this 🙂
    I really cant imagine whats going to be revealed in this corocoro, im super excited!!!!!!!

    • Well, this definitely confirms thing. We had seen some stuff that suggested high HP and Special Defense.. but the special attack actually surprises me, I thought it was seeming like it might have had a low one. Shame it’s so slow though.

      • I know!!! It´s super sad sylveon has low speed, im glad for the high spatk and spdef. I just didn’t want it to suffer the same disgrace as glaceon (my fav eeveelution and pokemon), they have great spatk, awesome type (love ice and fairy types), nice moves (probably), but bad speed, which does not exploit their potential :´( I still hope for sylveon to be useful competitively, and im sure it will be fun to use in game 🙂

        • Yeah, it is sad! That will make it almost unusable competitively!!
          Also, high SP Atk.. I wonder if all Fairy Attacks we have seen so far (and the majority of them) will be SpA Based.

          • Well it still has a really high special defense and good HP, and a very usuable special attack. So it could definitely come in and wall Special Attackers, forcing switches and threatening with really powerful hits. It just won’t be a sweeper at all. But, not all Pokemon have to be a sweeper.

          • True, it will definitely see some use, specially if they are immune Dragon attacks.. Coming in one of those two (SpAt or Dragon) using prediction. Let’s hope it gets a good recovery move.

      • If the type was introduced during the physical/special split, then yes, it would be special.

        But if you mean will fairies only be loaded with special attacks in their movepool, no. They will also have physical fairy type attacks. An example is “Fairy Wind” and “Moonblast” being special fairy type moves, while “Geomancy” and “Drain Kiss” are physical fairy type moves.

    • Despite the fact that fairy was introduced after the Physical/Special Split, I always thought of it as a Special Type. And now Sylveon’s stats confirm it.

  18. So question for everyone! If all starters get a Mega Evolution, which I’m pretty sure they will, which one (that has not been revealed yet) are you looking forward to the most? If not, which one is your favorite so far? Me? MEGA EMPOLEON!!! 😀

        • Exactly and I’m sure Shokotan’s reaction wouldn’t be that much after seeing Mega Mewtwo a ton of times. It has to be something new. Also I think the starters evolutions are going to be shown. ALL BOARD THE HYPE TRAIN I made a theory a long time ago that there will be a form for each gameand since this Mega Mewtwo looks more feminine and females have the XX gene the next form could be a Y form (XY)

          • I would actually love the current Mega Mewtwo to be “Lady Mewtwo”, and a new one being more like the original.

  21. MegaPokemon by Gen. so far: Gen 1- 5, Gen 2 – 1, Gen 3 – 3, Gen 4- 1, Gen 5 – 0…I find it weird and a bit annoying that NO Gen 5 Mega Pokemon have been shown yet

  24. Well, that’s nice that Pokemon Smash wasn’t a complete waste of time. Providing some intrigue, and that the Mega Mewtwo 2 may actually exist after all. And all but proving that we should be getting Starter Evolutions in Corocoro too, so something else to look forward to. Just hope University won’t be too heavy this week, I want to be able to eagerly scan for all news possible.
