An unknown source has seemingly started to leak a handful of new Pokémon from Sun & Moon. These leaks are currently unconfirmed but appear to be source from an online video.

The more I look at it the less ugly it looks. The video helps a lot imo. They should’ve done something with the eyes, but apart from that I like it. This guy and especially Bruxish feel new in a different way… They’re weird for sure but not that horrible.

I know the first time you see them you probably wont show all your love, but I’m seeing risky designs here. Those electric bugs are kind of cool in terms of form (so polygonal) and color. The blind dragon couldnt look more mysterious, as if it was made of waves. The guardian one simply rocks; reminds me of a better worked line of pokemons like hitmonchan or hitmontop. It’s body simplicity could be inspired in these dark, schematic despictions of humans in prehistoric art.
They’re putting a lot of work here. Spread the love, don’t hate! Even the rodent has a nice vibe with that sparky hair.
Comments like this really help me look at them differently. Maybe the dragon is not that bad 🙂

yeah I was pretty shocked with the fish and the dragon’s design at first, and so if these were their official design then I probably need to get used to them lol and I think that all the other ones looks great, especially the electric bugs and the small bird haha

I seriously don’t like any of them… The only one that looks half decent is Tapukoko. The dragon… That weird fish… I’m not sold yet. This gen started off truly amazing with Pokemon like Rowlet, Nekkoala and Pikipek, but these designs are not “simple” and they don’t appeal to me. I hope they’ll grow on me, since they’re 95% real.
We already had weird-looking (and this is a nice way for me to put this) Pokemon like Binacle line, Basculin and Purugly, I’m sure we’ll be fine!

I feel like these might be fake, but hey I could be wrong–videos are convincing evidence. I just think the beetle evolutions (especially the middle one) are VERY lack-luster and have a lazy “let’s program this fast to mess with people” fakemon vibe. (watch these be real and I’ll just be floored). The fish, hedgehog, and fly look gamefreak enough, if not a little silly. (But who am I to talk, Garbodor is one of my favorite Pokemon.)
The dragon thing is growing on me quickly though… I think I’d name him Falkor ; )

Yeah, it seems to be that way. I guess I’m just surprised that the beetles are designed so… plainly? Grubbin looked like he had so much potential with that orange and yellow shield on his head and they just drop that idea and color scheme? idk
It’s the Metapod, Kakuna, Sil/Cascoon, Spewpa, Swadloon version of Grubbin. What would you expect?

I didn’t expect a lot to be honest but yeah x D I’m just saying, seeing their designs from before on other route 1 bugs to cacoons, this one seems really weird
they usually at least keep a design trait if not a color scheme down the line, and even if they don’t (which happens), the personality-dry design seems really boring. Even Matapod and Kakuna have personality! Vikavolt is fine I guess, nothing really ground-breaking, just but fine (seems really dry after Heracross but maybe we needed a tougher new beetle?)
I don’t hate it or any of these, don’t get me wrong, it just seems awkward and rushed ?

So now that Tapukoko is revealed, it means that the secret the starters and Iwanko are holding is not them being the guardians.
I don’t think anyone suspected that in the first place tbf. The starters and Iwanko are Alchemy silhouettes, so they’re probably linked to the legendaries somehow.

Charjabug/Vikavolt: Clearly grubbin evos. probably Bug/Electric, charjabug is a plug while vikavolt is alligator clamp/jumper cable.

I’m honestly just so happy to see new pokemon. None of the designs are bad in my opinion but I still don’t see myself ever using any of these guys. But I like them, except for grubins cocoon stage.. Wtf is that? A fucking block? I know it’s based on an electrical plug but come on? Wtf?

Mixed feelings about these but I’m sure they’ll grow on me.
I love minimalism but in all honesty, I want…less softer colours? Like Drampa, Togedemaru (what is that name btw) and Bruxish are all quite pale, while Vikavolt is lacking some striking yellow. I’m happy with simple but hopefully there’ll be more where the colours do stand out!
Thinking back at now I wonder if this is what they meant with going back the to basic because I mean some of the first and second gen Pokemon were kind of simple and didn’t stand out that much

the rest are pretty heckin lit though, especially the totem guy and the lil buggo thing. the flying bug looks a bit shape-y, but in this case it works in favor if its design.
Well, to be fair, the mid evos of bugs are usually cocoons or pupas, and they’re supposed to be protected and not move around.

Bruxish’s ability blocks priority moves that’s really interesting. Whether it evolves or not it might get some competitive usage since priority moves are common as hell.

I must admit that after seeing the official artworks and the official video, I love them a lot more! I love the typings and God, I couldn’t be more blessed with all these electric types (it’s my favourite type) I hope there’s a lot more of them coming. I withdraw what I said earlier, I actually like those pokemons a little more :p
