  1. Well, I’ll be at school when the news comes out. It’s my last day. Guess I’ll just have to wait till 2:30….

    • One time some news came out when I was at school.
      This was me.
*looks around sneakily while on the phone looking up info*
To be fair, the teacher liked me and I was doing my work too so xD

      • You lucky fool. 🙂 But then again smart phones didn’t exist when I was still in elementary and high school and college…

By the time my post-grad rolled around, teachers don’t care what you do (even sleep!) as long as it isn’t disruptive to the rest of the class. After all, it’s very likely that you paid for your own education by that time and sleeping or goofing off is the student’s loss.

      • Well, we get in trouble if we even have our phones out of our lockers during a school day. My teachers like e, but they won’t let me use my phone.

        • That’s why you keep them concealed and hunker into a restroom and look up por- I MEAN INFO, yeah info

          Reply
        • Ah, that’s so strict! I mean, every school hates phones, but that’s way worse than over here. You just get your phone taken away for the period/day/whatever if the teacher feels up to it.

          Reply
          • Well, yeah. That’s what I meant by get in trouble. Our phones are just taken away for some time.

          • We were allowed to have our phones out. If you were on your phone, it was your own responsibility.

          • My school is kind of similar, but not to the same extent — It really depends on the teacher. Some don’t care what you do, and know you’re on your phone, whereas others will simply tell you to put it away. I rarely see a teacher take someone’s phone.

  2. oh boy we are just hours away until we see some new info on Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon the hype-train is all fueled up and ready to go!

  3. Im in class but I really dont care… Always a real of Pokejungle since they started posting about XY. Sooo hyped???

  4. I is here, and sadly have no net here due to a Sand Storm (Hurrah!) so I’m praying my 3G lasts till I see the new info or my wifi kicks back on soonish!

  5. Also as a theory, and bc of all the hype and build up it has (and the new Animation) I think the fan termed “Synchro-Evolution” will be revealed for Sun and Moon!

  6. I now have all the relevant windows open. Pokemon YouTube channel in English and Japanese, as well as the two main websites. If anyone needs a link, I have you covered.

  7. So whats everyone doing to pass the time? I’m here playing Sly 2 Band of Thieves on my PS VITA, great piece of hardware btw, its like a portable PS2 which is TOP! Too bad SONY killed it off 🙁 Would have been nice to see more PS2 love on it besides God of War, Sly, and Ratchet and Clank on it.

    • Eh, I think we got just the right amount of awesome info. I’m happy they seem to be taking it slow for the moment, I really don’t want them to repeat the awful amount of overrevealing in XY and ORAS that just killed the joy of discovery.

  12. It’s funny how when reading the list of things we know, I got most excited for the professor being Kukui and not the fat guy :/

    • Hala though is important, he is the one giving you the POkemon.
Definitely for sure a retired Professor, Like the Cedric Juniper in BW and BW2

Weird Rotomdex but that sounds cool, Pokemon and people coming closer together
Nobody saw those legendary typings, especially Solgaleo

    Reply
  14. Since ancient times, Solgaleo has been honored as an emissary of the sun. It is referred to with reverence as “the beast that devours the sun.” Solgaleo’s body holds a vast amount of energy, and it shines with light when it’s active. It has a flowing mane with a remarkable resemblance to the sun. Its signature move is Sunsteel Strike, an attack that charges at an opponent with the force of a meteor, disregarding the target’s Ability.

Solgaleo’s Ability is Full Metal Body, a new Ability that no previous Pokémon has had. With the Full Metal Body Ability, a Pokémon’s stats will not be lowered by the effects of an opponent’s moves or Ability.

Since ancient times, Lunala has been honored as an emissary of the moon. It is referred to with reverence as “the beast that calls the moon.” Lunala is constantly absorbing light and converting it into energy. With its wings spread to absorb the surrounding light and glittering like a crescent moon, it resembles a beautiful night sky. Lunala’s signature Moongeist Beam attack releases an ominous beam of light that disregards the target’s Ability.

Lunala’s Ability is Shadow Shield, a new Ability that no previous Pokémon has had. With the Shadow Shield Ability, a Pokémon will take less damage from an attack that lands when the Pokémon has full HP.

  15. Really didn’t see that psychic typing coming on Solgaleo but it’s still a cool typing either way and Lunala’s typing wasn’t too surprising. It just sucks that steel types aren’t resistant to ghost types anymore because now Lunala has a type advantage against Solgaleo.

  17. Meet New Pokémon Using the QR Scanner!
In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, there is a QR Scanner function that allows you to see information about Pokémon when you scan QR Code patterns. With the QR Scanner, you scan in a QR Code and check the information about the Pokémon that corresponds to that QR Code. There are QR Code patterns in various places all around you, so try scanning them.

  18. Professor Kukui
Professor Kukui is the Alola region’s dependable Pokémon professor. He lives near your home and looks out for you. He’s passionate about his research into Pokémon moves and has sometimes taken direct hits from Pokémon when there was something to be learned from it. Sporting a white lab coat slung casually over his bare torso, he shows off his own unique style.

  20. Theory: OK since Hawaii is off the coast of USA, and Unova is similar to the US (NY and etc.) I think Alola will have us return to Unova, and that Lillie is related somehow to N. As for the mysterious artificial Island, maybe its the main base for the villainous team? And to add, I think since we see BIG ports, we will go to each island via boat, and I’m 100% sure we will have a Water-Type gym before our first boat ride. Just a theory btw! Cheers!

  22. Solgaleo has Full Metal Body which is basically Clear Body

Lunaala has Shadow Shield which is basically Multiscale

  23. Anyone else notice the Fortress like place on the rightmost island of the region? Its at the top of the island if that helps. Now I’m curious! I’ve never seen a town or city in game with such a large wall!

  24. tbh I always thought the sun legend had a mecha kinda feel but I didn’t see it becoming a steel type. I’m really excited about the moon legend being ghost type though, its my second fav type, now if these games introduce a ghost/fairy pokemon then i will be so happy 🙂

  29. The lion not being a fire type at all was a big surprise, right? It’s nice that it’s not obvious, however it’s’ the sun pokemon after all, so it’s weird at the same time.

    Reply
    • Yeah I don’t really understand this descision. If they’re were ever a reason for a fire type, the sun Pokemon should’ve been it but I don’t really care either way because I never use legendaries
I more so upset that there will never be a cosmic type :'(
But maybe one day they’ll still do a cyber type:D

  30. Just a minor nitpicky opinion I have is that I would’ve preferred them to have chosen “Lunaala” over “Lunala”

    Reply
  31. So now we have two steel type legends for sun/moon, which is cool because the only other steel legends i can think of are jirachi and genesect

  32. The region looks better but it’s’ oddly empty, don’t’ you think? Kind of too clean and no people walking around. Apocalypse confirmed?

  33. I don’t see any mega key stones anywhere on the character, only those weird new bracelets. Post game only maybe?

    Reply
    • maybe they’ve gone to the point where there are to many mega stones in the game that you only need one to evolve any pokemon that could mega evolve

      Reply
    • Ash-Greninja has something to do with, not them in general, but the transformation. Did you happen to have seen today’s episode? Ash-Greninja had a new animation (same energy beams as when a Mega triggers) so I’m thinking we’ll have something similar in Alola (anime) and the games. Being able to Mega/Synchro evolve without necessarily needing a stone.

  34. I feel like that big ass tree on the back of that big west island is going to have some significance, also do we know what that like man made island in the middle is? could it be where Magearna is?

  35. WAIT GUYS Professor Oak having a Rotom makes sense now! He is gonna let Ash use it as his Pokedex! OMG THIS WAS PLANNED SINCE GEN 5 YOOO!!!!

  36. I’ve been waiting for a professor that specializes in Pokemon moves for a while now and I like how Kukui is willing to take an attack if it means learning something from it. The four main islands of Alola look great and the artificial island in the center of the region looks interesting. Overall I’m really satisfied with today’s news.

    Reply
  37. You know what there is a boxed up walled city at the back of the southeast island and the Magearna takes place in a walled city right? so maybe thats where it appears also the big blue building on the mountain right next to it could be the pokemon league maybe? I’m just tossing around ideas 😛

  38. Not sure if people said anything about this, but the aquarium in the first video has a luvdisc. So now we have luvdisc and meowth in this region!

  39. The islands look amazing!
I assume the left one is where the league and Legendary plot will happen.
The 2nd left one which was first introduced to us will probably be the first one we meet.
The 3rd has amazing pool systeme, water gym happening.
Love the Volcan as well seems powerful.

  41. I love how lunala gets a full rotation of its body yet songaleo doesnt it’s like they trying to convince people to like it .must say I do like the typing for it

  42. According to serebii Solgaleo: With the Full Metal Body Ability, a Pokémon’s stats will not be lowered by the effects of an opponent’s moves or Ability.
and Lunala: with the ability Shadow Shield. With the Shadow Shield Ability, a Pokémon will take less damage from an attack that lands when the Pokémon has full HP.
these r the same effect of Multiscale and Clear Body just y they would revel the same ability with different name …..it’s not first time though Reshiram and Zekrom have ability with dame effect of Mold breaker.

    Reply
    • I think their abilities have additional effects. Like maybe Solgaleo can absorb fire moves to boost his own attack/special attack and the same for Lunala with Dark moves.

  43. So the colour behind the hp/lvl bar is the same for everyone. It’s just light blue. Maybe we can change it in options?

  44. I hope this game is more on the heavy side of new Pokemon. Kukui said in the trailer that the region was full of rare Pokemon, so that could be a good sign. Also what is MeleMele?

    Reply
    • Wow! If you zoom up on it, you can see a yellow gem like in the Japanese logos!
What does this mean for Mega Evolution?

  45. I dunno if anyone brought this up, but I was watching the trailer again, and after the show the Alola map, with the characters walking around and stuff, you can see the tall grass. Looks nice, in my opinion.

  46. It would be so amazing if we could travel back to the Kalos region and face new gym leaders with an extended post xy meta game for Zygarde complete form!!!

      • I was thinking more along the line of something like soul silver and heart gold where you can explore two regions instead of just one, but with the Alola region and Kalos Region

        Reply
        • It makes sense, since XY were spiritual successors to Red and Blue, Sun and Moon would be the spiritual successors to GS.

          Reply
        • Because Kanto and Johto are literally connected with one another. Judging by Alola’s map, its not even remotely close to Kalos.

          Reply
          • Or simply boats. We still have the couriway train station, so maybe Kalos travel will be a available in a different game.

          • I felt like it was to quick of a game but I love the pokemon in Kalos, they were lacking in quantity but they’re quality of chose were surprisingly perfect imo

          • The Pokemon for the most part were amazing, and the region was beautiful, but because of the low difficulty level and the shortness of the game, I tend to overlook things about the game.

          • I hope they change to champion of we get to region hop to Kalos as a plot twist type of thing. I also want a Red-like superboss.

          • yeah, although I embrace new ideas and new pokemon unlike the Gen Oners, I really miss those difficult opponents :'(

          • Pokemon these days is more geared toward children, so it is easier. They could fix this with a difficulty slider though.

          • It could be Alola is located south of Kalos (because judging by Kiloude City, South Kalos has a more tropical vibe) so perhaps we will be able to travel to Kalos after beating the Alola league.

          • That would make sense as well. Plus, the SUNdial in anistar city has some story that went untouched, so yet another loose end.

    • Zed is dead. Bring Zygarde 100% in alola just to jam as much stuff in this game as possible. THAT can be the post game

      Reply
    • They always give the rivals different gym badges then Ash to show that there are more than 8 gym leaders and that the path Ash takes isn’t the only path.

  47. Hype level is over 9000! I’m so confused about these typings though. I wonder if there’s more to them than just those. Solgaleo’s just makes zero sense to me. I do love Lunala’s typing though! I’ve been dying to see a new Ghost legendary since Giratina.

  48. The official Artwork for the Male trainer shows him wearing something on his wrist. At first I thought it was his keystone, but it has a yellow gem In it which is exactly the same as the one in moon’s Japanese logo

          • Remember how Mega Mewtwo Y appeared in the Genesect movie, BEFORE megas were officially announced? Also, Jarvis from the upcoming Magearna/Volcanion movie has a similar diamond in his staff.

        • Its not a Mega bracelet, so what else could it be? And Ash-Greninja was revealed roughly at the same time as Sun/Moon reveal in February, you honestly think its not connected?

          Reply
          • Similar to how the Red and Blue Orbs were in the Logo

I’m not going to let synchro evolution be a thing

Besides its just a Mega Watch until they say otherwise

And how many times do I have to tell you Ash-Greninja is an anime Mechanic

    • I’m not quite sure what Synchro Evolution is but in the new pokemon movie, the antagonist mega evolves without a mega stone for any pokemon that can. Maybe, thats what the bracelet is for

      Reply
  49. I’ve mapped out how I think we’ll travel through the Alola region. I tried to identify where the gyms will be by finding similar buildings in the cities/towns, but I could only find 4 (and even that I’m unsure about). Also, sometimes it seems that there’s more than one way to go, so I just chose what seemed best.
There are some places to note. First, the area boxed in maroon on the 2nd island is the hotel we’ve seen. Second, the area boxed in pink on the last island is where I think the encounter with Lillie, and there’s a bridge behind her.

    Reply
    • Is a little non linearity too much to ask for.

We should get to decide which order we want to explore the islands, with the trainer and wild Pokemon being adjusted accordingly.

      *Sigh* One can dream

      Reply
    • I hope the game lets us choose where to go, and isn’t linear. The trainers could have levels based on your badges or something, idk.

      Reply
      • I think it’s a possibility, but not complete freedom obviously. You’d run into problems such as really high leveled Pokemon knocking the hell out of your starter. Unless they implement some sort of flexible level system that takes into account how high of a level your Pokemon are or something like your badge idea, or even just limit the type of Pokemon you can see depending on your gym progress.

        Reply
        • They could make the levels on island 2 even out and yoy can choose between choosing gym 4 or 5 first and than cross to the other after beating the 1 U choose first. and do the same for island 3.
The way we hit islands should be detemebt but the gym order could vary and that would be neat.

I can’t wait for the 15th and 16th now!!!! I want new Pokemon to push this month to the MAX!!! lol

  53. Speculation: Because of the animations and names of the signature moves, do you think that Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam are dual-typed like Flying Press?

Considering that no “it’s not very effective” on Salamence appeared disproves that, but Moongeist Beam can be either Psychic or Ghost, as Gengar is weak to both, but ‘geist’ in the name leans more towards being a Ghost-type.

  54. Hau is cute ❤️

But fr tho I’m gonna need more than 81 new Pokémon this generation and for Rowlett to remain Flying

  55. But with all that water and having to use surf to get anywhere I’m sure that trying to move while wild (water) pokemon pop up each 10 seconds is gonna be a nightmare. Prepare to spend all your money on repellent, guys.

  56. Is it even possible that we could have synchro? They would need to have a model for every single 719 + Pokemon mixed with not only your trainer character, but potentially others in game. But if it was only for certain Pokemon, like Megas, wouldn’t it be a little overkill/ making Megas obsolete? I mean, Megas were just introduced!

    Reply
    • At this point, I just don’t want Synchro/synergy whatever to be real. It just feels off to me. I dunno.
It make more sense in the anime, and it feels more like an anime function.
At the end of the day, I’ll end up probably tolerating it, but I still won’t think it’s the best idea.

      Reply
    • I agree. If Synchro works In the games the same way as it does In the anime it isn’t really possible. Considering Character Customization, the different protagonist of future gens, and the number of pokemon it wouldn’t work.
Honestly, they should stick to Megas

  57. So another rival who’s pretty much going to be your best friend, stupid typings for the legendaries that don’t make any logical sense and a pokedex which is going to be guiding me on what a pokemon is and how to catch one. Great to have new info I guess but this isn’t blowing me away

  60. What I still don’t get is why does Hai use the Starter weak to ours?

Will we get another Rival Later on who uses the Starter that is strong against ours? Or is GF changing the Formula completely

    Reply
    • That’s what I am pondering right now. Maybe, due to his personality, he feels that a starter weak to yours will be a challenge?
I know some people theorized that he might be late to choosing the starter (hence him rushing in and stuff) so maybe that’s the last starter left?
I’m just wondering who gets the other starter. Lillie or someone else?

      Reply
      • The Official Website says she doesn’t like to battle.

So there are only 2 possibilities,

Either No one will get the other starter, Or we are going to get another ‘asshole’ rival later on

        Reply
        • That doesn’t mean she won’t get it. She is next to you when they show the starters (you can see the hat), so maybe she gets the starter, but doesn’t battle you often. In Gen 4, Dawn/Lucas got the starter that no one else picked even if no one battled him/her.

  61. I pray that the trainer battle intro thing isn’t just exclusive to Hau or other main characters… Tbh I felt that using the Sugimori art of trainer classes instead of models was a little lazy

    Reply
      • But imagine all those models that would have to do. So much space, so much time. Maybe not lazy, but it would have been too time-consuming considering that aren’t ones you battle over and over (Sorta)

        • I don’t know… After they animated every Sprite in BW2 I’m convinced they can do anything if they can dedicate time to it

          Reply
          • But those weren’t super long animations. Plus 3D model animations take up a ton of space.
I dunno, I’m just bringing up something to consider.

          • No don’t worry I agree that it’s plausible that there’s space conflicts regarding making a Pokémon game, but hopefully this time around GF can make the game more… Aesthetically pleasing

          • I think they will. It already looks like an improvement to me, but we’ve only got so much to look at so far.
We won’t know until it gets closer to November.

  62. Alola looks way bigger than Kalos! I am extremely pleased with this morning’s presentation. They didn’t reveal too much, but just enough. Unlike ORAS *cough* But I feel we’ll get a lot of information on June 15th. The few concerns I have is the Rotom Pokedex that guides you around on the bottom screen to your next task and acts like a Town Map. It sounds like it’s GF doing the hand holding treatment again. Also, the male protagonist had the yellow crystal from Moon’s Japanese logo inside it, so I am a little bit concerned about that…

    Reply
    • To ORAS’ credit, we knew what was going to be in the game anyways. 🙂
And I think it will act how in other Nintendo games (I’m thinking of Zelda) you just ask them or tap a button and they’ll guide you, not automatically. Heck, maybe you can turn that aspect off.
However, I agree with you on the crystal thing. I don’t like what that might be implieing

  63. I’m most impressed we get to have 7 Pokemon with us. .. though I’m sure we can’t use rotom
This must be why the professor was so interested in Room in the anime.. they think of everything..

    Everyone: You wish!
What I really think: It could be a redesign to the keystone, but activates in a different manner. Maybe you can only use ME at full happiness with qualified Pokemon and no need for stones, which makes sense, but again unlikely.
    One can dream.

Just look at Rayquaza. Same BST as both Mega Mewteos but so much more powerful because of that item slot.

      • I commented on your last comment.. I feel that would be a downgrade… players don’t want to wait for a mechanic all they need is a stone and evolve. Plus I don’t feel they will dedicate the new mechanic to something not new

        • If Burst Evolution is its own concept, which it very well may be, I don’t think we’ll fuse with the Pokemon, but they become stronger with the bond of the trainer, i.e. frienship.

I’d say it’s Mega Evolution done right, but that’s me. I’m still unclear how BE works, no matter how much I look into it.

          • If you think about it, GF wouldn’t want to keep making each individual Mega Stone for future Pokemon, it adds up. They need to come up with a way that eliminates the stones.

They could just used keystones, but they already established that it tunes to the Pokemon’s mega stone to work.

          • No.. the stone is such a small piece of information.. it’s like adding a new pokeball or potion.. the real work comes with actual evolution

  66. im still hollering about how we completely ignored solgaleo typing because we were 100% sure that is going to be fire and it ended up being psychic/steel ( which makes sense because his body is based on astronauts/spaceships and lunala is just the moon)

          Ash-Greninja

Plus, Ash’s Greninja takes on a mysterious new appearance in the latest season! Ash-Greninja is the form that Greninja takes when the bond between it and Ash is raised to the limit. The strength of their bond changes Greninja’s appearance, and it takes on the characteristic look of Ash’s attire. This phenomenon is also said to have happened just once several hundred years ago in the Kalos region, but it remains shrouded in mystery.

          • Google the word synchronize. That’s just a name fans have given the name for the bond transformation between ash and greninja.. nothing else

          • Nothing about that post says it’s Just Ash and Greninja.. in fact..it even says it’s happens before. .. .
I’m going to quote you to death when you’re proven wrong lol. I’m waiting

          • It happened to the OTHER Ninja Hero’s Greninja

It’s so damn obvious that Ash’s Greninja is either a descendant of that Hero Greninja or it’s the Reincarnation

And it’s a marketing scheme to give ash a Pseudo-Mega to complete the Mega Triangle with Alain’s Charizard and Sawyer’s Mega Sceptile ergo Grass Fire and Water Megas

          • I think Armageddon just said all I was gonna say in response to this.
Plus.. you countered speculation with even more abstract speculation..

          • Like Mewtwo Y in the Genesect movie, that was before megas were announced, so explain that?

          • Yes, and we saw Mewtwo Y before they announced megas. Introducing future game mechanics in the anime isn’t exactly a new thing, they have done it before.

          • I still believe it was just movie magic that allowed them to do it without officially doing it

But wildly speculating something as asinine as Synchro in a main game all because of a damn watch bracelet is really jumping to conclusions

          • While I do agree Synchro should remain anime-exclusive, It wouldn’t surprise me if they do incorporate it in the games somehow (like maybe through Pokemon Amie or something, and make it exclusive to starters)

          • Oh, and Obviously Ash Greninja is specific to Ash.. they may give it out at an event.. but Our Pokemon would look more like us or how we want it..

          • What you don’t understand is that the anime is first and foremost a marketing tool for the games.
Answer this, why the hell would they market Ash-Greninja So much if it’s not going to Be a mechanic in the game.
Synchro-Evolution may not work EXACTLY like it does in the anime.
Remember when the Genesect Movie was announced with Mega Mewtwo Y but no one called it a mega and Mewtwo transformed into it without a stone? A similar thing is happening here, they aren’t going to fully reveal synchro in the anime obviously, but Ash-Greninja is only there to advertise Synchro in the games.
Plus with the yellow gem in the bracelet instead of a keystone, it’s the only logical explanation

          • Feh I put it the opposite
I believe that the only true canon is the Games

I’m still infinitely against Syncho Evolution in and main game and I’m not going to wild speculating based on a single image

          • Dude you gotta relax damn every comment of yours contains shouting, calling names and/or acting annoyed.

  68. I have Absolutely 0 Hope for this..
But someone below said what If the league is on the center artificial island..

How is a Pokemon based on the SUN and has solar in it’s name not a fire type? And I was hoping the moon legend was fairy. DEATH at there abilities basically being renamed versions of clear body and multiscale. Competitively speaking I don’t think either will be top tier in ubers especially with knock off running rampant. DEATH at them including that pokedex feature like it’s that important. Overall this info was very underwhelming, but it’s still pretty interesting.

      • Unless their movepools are abosulte garbage like kyruem black I don’t see it. I think the moon legend will be better than the sun legend because of it’s knockoff multiscale and psychic, ghost is a great offensive typing. It does look extremely frail

        • They’re both awesome abilities, but yeah, they are ultimately knock off’s of Clear Body and Multiscale.

Unless, there’s more to them than we know right now. I’d be really surprised if they gave us these new, rather cool named Abilities for Legendaries and have them do the same as a couple other, basic abilities.

      • Kiiiii. I mean the games are named after the sun and the moon and the box legends look like the sun and the moon and the box legends have solar and Luna in there names which are other ways to describe the sun and the moon. If it looks like a duck, acts like s duck it’s a duck

        Reply
    • Hahaha, I’m not huge on the Lion’s typing either. The way it’s described though, it makes some sense as to why it’s this typing and not a straight up Fire type.

It is referred to with reverence as “the beast that devours the sun.” Solgaleo’s body holds a vast amount of energy, and it shines with light when it’s active. It has a flowing mane with a remarkable resemblance to the sun”

It has more to do with it’s resemblance and it being the “messenger” to the Sun and it’s ability to hold a shit ton of energy from “devouring it” than it actually representing the Sun.

  83. Info from official site:

    Solgaleo
    Sunne Pokémon

    Lunala
    Moone Pokémon

    Alola Region
Your new adventures in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will take place on the tropical islands of the Alola region! The Alola region centers around four islands rich in natural beauty and an artificial island. Many Pokémon that have never been seen before occupy these islands.

    Lillie
Lillie is a mysterious girl who assists the professor. This young girl is about the same age as your character, and she’s working as Professor Kukui’s assistant for personal reasons. She’s not fond of making Pokémon fight in battles, but she loves reading and has devoured many books. Lillie will play an important role in the story of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

    Hau
Hau is a Pokémon-loving young boy with a big appetite! He’s the same age as your character. When you move to the Alola region, he makes friends with you right away. He has a real weakness for malasada, a famous treat in the Alola region, and he is always in search of malasada shops. He is a big-hearted boy who really loves Pokémon.

    QR Scanner
In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, there is a QR Scanner function that allows you to see information about Pokémon when you scan QR Code patterns. With the QR Scanner, you scan in a QR Code and check the information about the Pokémon that corresponds to that QR Code. There are QR Code patterns in various places all around you, so try scanning them.

By scanning in special QR Code patterns you can register Pokémon of the Alola region to your Pokédex and find out where they live. If you scan in the QR Code for a Pokémon that you haven’t yet caught, you can check its habitat and search it out.

You can display the QR Code patterns for Pokémon you have caught in your own Pokédex. If you and a friend show each other the QR Code patterns for Pokémon you have caught, you can both register the Pokémon in your Pokédexes!

    The Rotom Pokédex
The Pokédex is a convenient tool that records information about the Pokémon you see and catch during your adventure. In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, your character receives a special Pokédex from Professor Kukui to support you in your travels. It’s known as the Rotom Pokédex, and it’s inhabited by Rotom, a Pokémon with the power to reside in various electronic appliances. It does much more than record Pokémon info—it sparkles with its own personality. The Rotom Pokédex shows your current location and your next destination, and it also gives you advice on where to go next, based on the conversations you have with others! It’s likely to be of great help to you in many parts of your adventure.

The Rotom Pokédex is an extremely rare device. There are only a few Trainers that have one, even in the Alola region.

It is beyond a waste of time
We already have a game shifting mechanic that is literally the same exact thing
But people are so caught up with wild accusations to see clearly

Mega Evolution and this so called Synchro evolution is literally the same thing, unleashing the bonds between trainer and Pokemon to unlock a new form and enhanced abilities and strength, but you see the word synchro and go nutty, Mega Evolution may even be this synchro evolution in the Alola region, maybe it doesn’t exist at all, I’m saying just because we have a Bracelet on the protagonists you all just went synchro nuts and flew to conclusions when it could have nothing to do with it all. So in conclusion please just try to stay level headed and think rationally about this

  102. O.K Well I guess I owe everyone who was saying that Alola region was more than one island, an apology. So here it is, I’m sorry I was very wrong and you were very right.

LOL I was actually starting to get really annoyed with people who were saying that it had to be more than one island, because the island looked way to tiny to be the whole region. I was thinking that I would be laughing when we found out that, the small island was all that we were getting, and I personally didn’t necessarily care about that little detail. But now that I see this I fully admit that I was wrong, and I think that this is totally awesome, and I am even more excited to play this game. XD

    I actually think that the island on the left, (the one that has all the rocky formations on it) may be my fave island. (wont know until I actually play the game. 😀 ) But the reason being a really silly one. LOL When I first set my eyes on that particular island my first thought was a very derpy one of, “OMG Its pride rock, and the pride lands” Major brain farting/fan girling in action there XD. OMG I sometimes worry about my thought process’. ^^;

    • Most legendaries are. I’ll still think of them as male and female, because male lions have manes and Lunala looks feminine. The names end in -o and -a, masculine and feminine spellings respectively, and then there’s Apollo and Artemis. Yin and Yang symbolism etc.

Heh, that reminds me of when I watch the Diancie movie: I was surprised that Xerneas spoke with a female voice. I always thought of Xerneas as a male because of the antlers.

  103. Okay, I like the fact that Solgaleo’s types is Steel/Psychic and Lunaala’s types are Ghost/Psychic. One isn’t more powerful than the other and it’s different (at least different than what was expected). Lillie is creepy… If there are only hear islands shown I like that there isn’t too much surfing to do and there will be more than one gym on each island (at least one island). I think that Kukui is new to the Professoring world and the older dude is his dad. I wonder if the rivals name will be changeable? I know in X and Y we were stuck with those names but I always like picking a name that is a real rival to me. Anyways… I’m happy and we got more than I thought we we’re getting. Now we just have to wait for Nov. 18 to roll around.

I’m getting both. Cosimo will be my Sun character and have Litten and Aurora will be my Moon character and have Popplio

          • I’m getting both version cause I always do but I’m gonna start with moon so that’ll be my base game. I think I’ll choose Rowlet as my first starter for Moon unless it turns out lame. Then I’ll go with Litten for Sun

          • Yeah. I’m actually torn between Popplio and Rowlet. I’ll see what they turn out like. I just think Popplio is cute and I always go for the fire and water starter. But maybe it’s time for a change.

          • Cause Litten is my main one. Im for sure picking Litten for my Sun character. I meant I’m not sure about Popplio or Rowlet for my Moon character. Litten is the best.

          • Ohhh okay. I’d say wait to see if you like Rowlet or the regional bird better and then maybe choose based on that.

  104. AnyTways I hope the character customization is more in depth this generation, like allowing you to change your hair style and color later on, color contacts and change facial features maybe? Cause Idk about y’all but I have yet to meet a black girl with itty bitty nose and fish lips with BONE straight black hair that bounces unless it Remy. No bitch, we rocking Jackson five nostrils with baby hair Afros. But I wouldn’t expect a Japanese company to put that in there games anyways ??? get it together Nintendo.

It’s nice a female character finally gets something as distinct as that to pair with Brendan’s weird but also awesome hat. It’s a bit annoying the tradeoff for customisation is the base protagonist losing any semblance of aesthetic personnality. They even seem to have foregone names this time around. I don’t see why one should come at the expense of the other, but this is typical gamefreak thinking :/ .
I’m also kinda dissapointed they went with the lightest skin tone again for the base art, a little variety would be nice, and Hawaii is a fitting region to start that with. Yeah I know your character is moving in so that’s less relevant, but it doesn’t remove the fact they went for the old boring choice.

    • I’m also kinda dissapointed they went with the lightest skin tone again for the base art, a little variety would be nice” hmmm I wonder why ????? 107. I’m very happy with the amount of info we got and if anything no new pokemon reveals is great as far as I’m concerned. My biggest fear is that they conserve the insultingly stupid promotional ethos used for XY and ORAS, where we respectively got over 70% of the pokedex and every single mega revealed before release, sapping an unfair amount of joy out of discovering the games when they finally came out.

And for all you people dissapointed about no new pokémon, with E3 around the corner seems to me you’ll only need to wait a few weeks before a mini-blowout 🙂 .
Last time for XY we got standard things like Vivillon and out of nowhere cooler later dex mons like Noivern. We also got Skrelp, Clauncher and Talonflame.
Just hoping they act wisely they keep the reveals until launch moderate.

      • Hahaha maybe you should calm down for the sake of your own sanity, we literally got info TODAY. I can completely get the hype, but IMO I’d rather we got this sort of thing once a month and no more.

    • Oh my bad you basically said the same thing I said above lol. I wouldn’t mind if they just do small news releases every 2 weeks…better than something big every month, imo.

          • I’m kind of sad about that actually, I loved the anticipation, the format of the corocoro reveal, and the second salva of translated news a few days later.

          • That was nice, but it kinda sucked when we hyped it and they didn’t give us much. At least when nintendo announces it we know we’re getting something

    • I think that’s sensible. I didn’t get into Pokemon until just about the time ORAS was announced, so I was both spoiled and unspoiled in XY: I could look up a walkthrough, but though I knew the names of the Pokemon on a route, I didn’t know what most of them looked like till they appeared. (I was mainly focused on catching them all.)

  108. I wish every time you played the game, it was randomized. So every time the Pokemon in the routes would be different from the time before. You’d never know which Pokemon you would encounter on your journey. Now of course Fire Pokemon would be in a volcano and Ice Pokemon would be in the snow, but other than that it’s completely randomized. It would make the game more diverse and maybe even harder. Sadly this will never happen in the near future, but it’s nice to dream big 🙂

The aesthetics, the artistic leaps, the architectural beauty, the vast array of environments, the character designs, the overall atmosphere, and the stunning islands are AMAZING! I cannot wait to venture into a world full of new Pokemon, old Pokemon, new characters, old characters, and see the amalgamation of 20 years of what is possibly one of the greatest game franchises of all time! Beautiful and the trailers truly brought out a sentimental side of me that made me realize why I love Pokemon! 😀

  110. I really hope that with the new Rotom Pokedex it means that they’ll possibly start adding new forms/evolutions for older Pokemon. I’ve said it before, but I like the idea of cross gen evos. It allows me the chance to use both old and new Pokemon technically. It scratches both itches so to speak lol

    Reply
  111. I am now purely hyped for Pokemon Sun and Moon. We already knew the Alola Region will be an amalgamation of islands, so those details weren’t new. I’m believe Solgaleo will an extremely overpowered legendary. Full Metal Body would cause moves like Overheat to never lower it’s stats; just image it with Calm Mind! Lunala kinda got the short end of the stick, yet I’m still picking Moon Version.

Anyways, the new characters seem interesting. I’m assuming Lillie will pick the starter that’s stronger than yours and she would grow to become a strong trainer, while Hau will pick the weaker starter based on previous information. Additionally, I’m wondering what the “band” around the trainer’s arm is. I think it’s just a new way to do Mega Evolution and it retaliates to the legendaries in some capacity.

I love the new battle UI. The colours and splashes of paint look nice. I just wish the opponent’s side was orange to push the colours of both games. Also, I honestly hope all trainers get introductions and different skin tones similar to Hau’s. That would add a lot of personality. Lastly, the Rotom Pokedex was something I was not expecting. It’s going to inhabit the bottom screen of the 3DS and I’m guessing it will control Amie and PSS. I hope Rotom has a lot of character to it!

    • You do realize that the sun does not actually contain fire right? A common misconception people tend to make. There’s not enough oxygen in space to create flames.

      Reply
          • So? That doesn’t mean a sun-based pokemon should be a fire type. Like I said, the absence of oxygen in space makes it impossible to create flames or fire.

          • The sun is mostly helium (He – which is flammable). The gravitational force works against the force that’s “flinging” particles. This generates friction which generates heat (release of energy from frictional force). That’s just for one atom of He. Now, multiply that by the volume of the sun. All that friction and heat will make flames (fire).

O2 isn’t required as there are more flammable elements out there. O2 is just versatile as it has a high electronegativity.

  113. Which starter do you think is gonna be Ash’s in the anime? Since the water one is basically out of the equation I think he’s coming back to the good ol’ fire type.

I spent a whole hour studying the high quality large image of the islands, and I was using my minds eye, to try and figure out just how big the islands really were, by using a mental image of the playable character running around the islands, and I came to the conclusion, that they are probably going to be MUCH larger than they appear in the picture. 😀

    • There’s no doubt in my mind there will be islands post E4 as well. How could GF not capitalize on that? Also you can see some islands hidden by clouds. I also feel they’ll have some big questline like the delta episode, people really liked that

In all main story pokemon games you have never been able to name a female rival

I also am looking forward to all these new pokemon since Kukui said it’s “full of nothin’ but rare pokemon.” Hopefully that means at least a lot of new pokemon.
My statement still stands that these islands look small and empty to me. I know normally GF hides post game places by clouds, so there is probably more to it. I just hope the game has a good pace and plenty to do after each gym.

        • It was good until the end of the intro. Then it was disappointment. Tbh Ive never played a game with the Frontier aside from SS so it never really mattered to me. • I honestly like the battle tower feel. I felt like a Pokémon master when I discovered it in Crystal.

    • My top favorite music track from X an Y was the little tune that played in the path way between the town you start your game in, and the town where you get your first Pokemon. 😀 I sat for like a whole hour just listening to that tune. XD

I personally don’t care if it gets much bigger than it is. What I have already seen so fare is good enough for me for exploration, now I’ll just sit back and wait for them to reveal all these “Super rare new Pokemon” I am totally hyped about this, (all Pokemon games really) new game. 😀

      Reply
      • I loved that tune, too, but hated how they made that route sooo insignificantly short. It was literally the length of a driveway. It needed so, so much more especially with that great tune playing.

        Reply
    • Well, first off I LOVED X and Y music. All the crazy unique melodies that make you want to do the waltz. And then you have that rocking Lysandre theme. And of course who can forget Professor Sycamore’s theme. It’s one of the few things that I really liked about Gen 6. The music is orchestral, and holds some of my favorite of the whole franchise.

As for the islands I think that if you look really deep into the whole region you can find a lot of neat things and there’s a TON of exploring to do between gyms (probably :D). But the post game is almost definitely shrouded in clouds, like always.

I really hope the post-game isn’t just Battle Maison or some poop like that. I hope it’s full fledged exploring of a new island maybe, or something like the Delta Episode but longer and not spoiled before we get the games.

    • I mean don’t get me wrong I love Solgaleo’s design but I get a Power Rangers Tigerzord vibe but I also very interested in Lunala, I mean it’s just very unique to me

But honestly the version exclusives are what really matters

      • What about a geyser Pokemon
        Either water/ground, water/rock, or Water/Fire but it’s a stretch

I see a cross between a Graveler and a Loudred, with a port on its head and a wide mouth, its body stores high volumes of water and forcefully ejects it to ward off opponents, these blasts can blow apart a house

  140. Lunala is the GREATEST Legendary i’ve ever seen and I think i have a few gyms down Fire(near volcanos), Ice(atop the mountain), Dark(Charred black area of the island with the alter)!

    • That doesn’t necessary mean they are gyms. The brown roof buildings have been rumored to be the actual gyms. I do love the vibes of the Alola Region.
