A number of reveals were shared during the closing ceremony of the Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco. They include updates for Pokémon Champions, Pokémon GO and the Pokémon TCG and the announcement of a new Pokémon movie!
In case you missed it, Pokémon TCG Pocket also announced dual-type cards and Pokémon UNITE announced four new characters!
It was also revealed that the 2027 Pokémon World Championships will be held in Singapore from August 13-15.
Pokémon Champions to add Z Mega Evolutions
New Z Mega Evolutions such as Mega Absol Z and Mega Lucario Z will be coming soon to Champions! They will be available starting in Regulation Set M-C which begins September 9.
The trailer also confirms that Mega Absol Z has the ability Sharpness, which powers up slicing moves.
Pokémon GO
Mega Evolved Pokémon will soon be able to take part in the GO Battle League in Pokémon GO. They’ll also be able to get a third Charged Attack when certain conditions are met.
Armored Mewtwo will also be making its long-awaited return soon during the Pokémon GO Fest Mega Finale taking place on September 5 and 6.
New cards may shake up the Pokémon TCG
Z Mega Evolutions will also be coming to the trading card game, as well as a new card type: ex★! You can see Mega Lucario Z’s card in the trailer above.
Pokémon: Wild Card movie announced
After a long hiatus, a new Pokémon movie is coming — but this one features the Pokémon TCG! A short teaser trailer for Pokémon: Wild Card can be watched above; the movie is slated for 2027.
