The mobile game Pokémon GO is expanding how players can participate remotely! Learn about the changes, as well as May’s Pawmi Community Day and Machop Community Day Classic, below!
Shadow Raids and Max Battles go remote
From May 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. PDT, players will be able to take part in 10 Remote Raids per day! This will also soon include Shadow Raids and Max Battles, which had previously been in-person only.
Shadow Raids can be joined using Remote Raid Passes starting with the Crown Clash: Taken Over even that begins on May 13, at 11 a.m. PDT, and that will be a permanent change to the game. Using a Remote Raid Pass will count towards your 10 Remote Raid daily limit.
Max Battles will be able to be joined remotely starting from May 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. PDT, ahead of the Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day event. Remote Max Battles will still require Max Particles, but the maximum that can be held will increase from 1,000 to 1,500. In-person participants will receive more rewards such as additional Premier Balls and XP than players joining remotely.
