If the reveal of a new season in Pokémon GO wasn’t enough for you, we now have details about what events to expect in the month of December as well! Read below to see what’s in store.
Just My Cup of Tea event starting December 3
Sinistea and Polteageist will be making their GO debuts in an event running from Tuesday, December 3, at 10 a.m. to Saturday, December 7, at 8 p.m. local time! The following event bonuses will be active for this special “tea party”:
- 2× friendship bonus damage in raids.
- 50% more Stardust from completing raids.
In addition, Incense will attract the following Pokémon:
- Oddish
- Miltank
- Combee
- Gothita
- Litwick
- Spritzee
Wild Pokémon spawning include:
- Slowpoke
- Taillow
- Slakoth
- Duskull
- Starly
- Greavard
Sinistea will be appearing in One-Star Raids.
Aspiring Dragons Research Day on December 7
Players who love Dragon types won’t want to miss this limited event on Saturday, December 7, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time, during which special Field Research tasks can reward encounters with Dragon-type Pokémon!
Pokémon that can be encountered from Field Research task rewards are:
- Horsea*
- Trapinch*
- Swablu*
- Skrelp*
*Increased chance of being Shiny
Wild Pokémon that will be spawning during the event include:
- Spearow
- Yanma
- Carvanha
- Dwebble
- Ducklett
- Binacle
Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day on December 8
New to GO, Gigantamax Lapras will get its own Max Battle Day on Sunday, December 8, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. The following bonuses will be available during the event:
- Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
- All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
- Power Spots will refresh more frequently
- 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
In addition, Max Mushrooms will be a new item that can be used for Max Battles. Using them “temporarily amplifies the Fast Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Max Move attacks of your Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon in Max Battles.”
Necrozma Fusion Raid Day on December 14
Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma will appear frequently in Five-Star Raids on Saturday, December 14, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. Players will have a greater chance to encounter a shiny Necrozma and the Raid pass limit will be raised to 20!

Players will be able to encounter the following Pokémon at increased frequency from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time on the following days:
- December 3: Sableye (Double Stardust)
- December 10: Murkrow (Double XP)
- December 17: Slugma and Bergmite (Double Candy)
- December 24: Delibird (Double Candy)
- December 31: Togetic (Double XP)
