Pokémon GO announces Valentine’s Day events for 2020

What’s better than chocolate? Catching more Pokémon! While that may be debatable, the details for this year’s Valentine’s Day event in Pokémon are not. Niantic has announced what will be coming up for trainers on their official site:

Love is in the air! Our annual Valentine’s Day event is back. From Friday, February 14, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. to Monday, February 17, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. in your local time zone, pink Pokémon will be appearing more often in the wild, in raids, in Eggs, and as Field Research encounters.

Audino, the Hearing Pokémon, and Alomomola, the Caring Pokémon, will be making their Pokémon GO debut! They’ll be appearing in the wild and hatching from 7 km Eggs. They’re rare though, so you might encounter them only if you’re very lucky! Audino and Alomomola will remain available (and incredibly hard to find!) in Pokémon GO after the event ends.

Regular Lure Modules activated during the event will last six hours, and you’ll receive a 2× Catch Candy bonus. Pink Pokémon—like Lickitung, Porygon, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Luvdisc, and Happiny—will be hatching from 7 km Eggs. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Chansey in the wild or hatch a Shiny Happiny!

Celebrate the lovely occasion with Valentine’s Day–themed avatar items like the Luvdisc Top, Ripped Luvdisc Jeans, and Luvdisc Shoes. Get them in the Style Shop!

Lickitung Raid Day

To continue the pink Pokémon festivities in celebration of Valentine’s Day, there will be a Raid Day featuring Lickitung on Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone! Lickitung will be in four-star raids and know Body Slam! You can receive up to five Raid Passes at no cost during the event by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms. You cannot hold more than one of these Raid Passes at once, and they will not be available after the event ends. Lucky Trainers might encounter Shiny Lickitung!

Have a happy Valentine’s Day, Trainers! Be sure to follow us on social media, opt in to receive push notifications, and subscribe to our emails to stay updated. Let’s GO!

  1. Ok WTF I’m reviewing the TR list for the Home Mons AND EMOAR CANT GET CLOSE COMBAT COME ON

And Garchomp can’t get Dragon Dance which is fine-ish that kind of power is too much

It can’t get a simple move while Raikou gets scald

  2. We know the popular mon changes so let’s talk some other interesting ones:

Scizor gets Psycho Cut which is cool I guess, wish it got Close Combat or earthquake.

Lycanroc gets Play rough and Close Combat which is gonna be crazy with Tough Claws.

Me: *steps outside of train station and see Alomomola silhouette at pokestop 2 minutes away*

  4. Alright, so it looks like you cannot rename pokemon transferred to SwSh through Home. Was wondering if you could considering they changed that you can rename traded pokemon once.

  5. Is it wrong that my favorite features of Pokemon HOME is mass releases? That should be a feature on the game, releasing one Pokemon at a time is tedious when you have whole boxes full of breedjects.

  6. Im not necessarily asking for a direct, but if they could just give us a bit more information on New Horizons in like a longer trailer I would be so happy right now

i’d love a direct, but a general one. i dunno what more there is to say about animal crossing, and i also don’t know what else nintendo’s putting out this year. the only things i can think of offhand are metroid prime and breath of the sequel, but i can’t help feeling like those are a long way off. will we get a star fox? Splatoon 3: Pearl Says Fuuck? is pikmin 4 dead? is kirby getting that Silent Hill crossover i’ve always dreamed of? does Yoshi finally do his taxes??

  7. I really like the HOME summary screen, doesn’t have as much wasted space as the Let’s Go games, and while it isn’t as clean as the SwSh one it requires less button presses to see the full info.

  8. Big McFakies from McSpankies…Mon tyme

    Junkernaut
    Steel/Fighting
    Heavyweight Pkm
Iron Fist/Guts HA: Weigh In (If the user outweighs the opponent its attack raises but if the opponent is heavier it’s attack lowers)
This gargantuan metallic Pokémon resembles a ultrabuff humanoid with robotic features mainly a massive upper body and hunched back that have markings similar to a wrestling singlet, it has a massive underbite with zigzag teeth and beady eyes atop its small upper head with a round sphere on the very top, it has massive forearms with heavy fists of solid metal with small fingers it can barely use, its torso thins out at the waist showing off its stubby but sturdy legs, from behind you can see a series of bolt like lumps reminiscent of a spinal cord
“Junkernaut wrestle one another with their powerful grapples and blows. They never fight underhanded no matter what”
“Their steely bodies are built up from eating discarded metal, Junkyards keep them around to break down discarded debris and eat the leftovers”

I’m debating if I want to make Junkernaut come in three forms one for lightweight and Mediumweight and lastly the standard Heavyweight because I feel that unless I make their weight more reasonable the ability would be flat out broken but how do you make a rock em sock em behemoth scrawny

  10. I need something to take my mind off sh*t….like a project, a game or extremely heavy medication the kind used for subduing multi-ton African wildlife

Lately I’ve been just using my new Wii console (The Cursed Garbage Halloween one)
And so far the only gamecube game i really tested it out on was Thousand Year Door because perfection I bought a 1000 block Memory card and brought down all the best Gamecube and Wii Titles (or at least ones i like, which can be hit or miss)

    -Thousand Year Door
-Wind Waker (which i’m debating if i should do Gamecube or HD because Swift Sail)
    -Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom
-Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
    -DK Jungle Beat (With Bongos)

    • The catch rates are too low on G-Maxes, it’s not even that’s more challenging so much as annoying. Also you can’t really use the ball you want unless you’re the host or RNG finally shines on you. Repeat is best for most providing you’ve caught the ‘mon before and it rarely fits anything aesthetically. Took me near 50 tries to get that skyscraper dragon in a Timer ball.

  12. You get to be a gym leader of two types, and your ace must be a Pokémon with a dual type. What’s your team of five, and what’s your ace?

    • Poison/Dragon salamander
      Psychic/Grass meditation flower
Cloak Ghost which I kinda feel could be Fairy too
Water/Dragon longboat plesiosaur (even though I dislike type overlap on my teams both these Dragons have designs I really like).
      Ice Luxray
      Regional bird

I really like the way the Fly line evolves, but the typing is too common imo. I’d say you can just give it Stench and maybe Poison Touch and have a different type, Seismitoad has Poison Touch for example. I’d make it a bit taller, is it based on a waiter?

  14. Just wanted to briefly gush: I finally got my shiny Galarian Ponyta after 304 eggs. It’s my first successful Masuda Method hunt since Cyndaquil back in Y. The IVs aren’t great, but that’s ok.

Now, to choose my next hunt target and continue trying to find shiny Wooloo in the wild. Any suggestions for hunt targets? I have a lot of foreign Pokemon but also a foreign Ditto.
