  1. Hopefully I will have finished UM by Christmas. I just defeated the 6th Trial. It took me two tries! The first time that I actually lost against a trial. I needed to use a Z-move and two Max Revives. Either my team could not handle it or they made the trial that much harder.

    My team was:

Bewear the Dunk Ubear (Lv. 36)
    Varazzless the Salazzle (Lv. 36)
    Punk the Glaceon (Lv. 37)
    Astolfo the Primarina (Lv. 37)

Even with the level advantage it was a very close and tough battle.

  2. I should own a few Nintendo ornaments but alas I don’t like to invest in such luxuries only because they would be at risk of breaking and my mother wouldn’t like seeing them on the tree

But the holiday season is dwindling on my family, we’re treating it as a nicety that we gotta trudge through, most of my relatives and cousins are grown up and spaced out or dead and we’re at the age where giving and receiving gifts is more of a ordeal then a special occasion

  3. I’ll make time to finish Ultra Moon first of all, because I just haven’t been motivated to do it lately. It really is SO similar to the base games that I can just turn off my brain (so to speak) and play, which can only be so fun. However, I would like to get to the Ultra Wormhole hunting, so that’s my main incentive to finish up Poni Island and all of the other stuff.

As for festivities, we have nothing set up and don’t end up doing anything until nearly the middle of December, which is really lame. It really pulls me out of the Christmas spirit, but I don’t have enough time or energy to do it all myself. I can’t wait to live on my own and be much more festive than my family is.

    • Totally understand. Up until I had finished Po Town I really had to push myself. The little changes are cool, but not enough to drastically keep me interested, so I just pushed through until then. It’s about there you start to notice bigger differences, and then once you finish the Dragon Trial things change quite a bit. I really enjoy the story after that, and the ultra wormholes are fun, so keep pushing.

  4. Well I since the ice appreciate barely got any ice comments I will go through share my opinions on both
First off, I am not doing anything Pokemon related. I may get UM for Christmas but IDK if I can playthrough Alola a 4th time in about one year… I’m just sharing Christmas with my family. As per usual

    Ice:
Ice is easily the most neglected type by GF. Ice types lack any positives defensively. They are always a negative to have an ice type Pokemon. If anything everything uses Ice type moves before an Ice type. There aren’t even 5 viable ice type pokemon. Alola Ninetales was the best thing to happen to ice types for a looong while. I think DESERVES buffs. Personally I believe it should resist Fairy, Flying (Bug and Grass maybe). Fairy is a very powerful type so a resistance would be amazing. Flying Bug and Grass make logical sense none of those 3 handle ice in real life. Also it needs a boost in hail. It’s the only type weather that gets no specific boost in weather. I believe the defenses should raise x1.5 in the hail (or at least just Defense)
Ice is my favorite element in real life. If I had powers Ice would probably be my number 1 choice, but GF makes it hard to even appreciate Ice types. My favorite Ice types of each generation are:
    Articuno (beautiful birb)
    Sneasel (cool design)
Sealeo ( favorite ice type. It’s adorable!)
    Glaceon (such a slick design)
Beartic (love the giant polar bear)
    Aurorus (beautiful)
    Crabominable (cutie)
I love Ice, and if it is majorly buffed it would easily be my favorite type.
Using ice monotype is the hardest but the most rewarding. Never forget my battle with Ice Vs Fire.
Final Thoughts: Ice is Nice, but be ready to pay the price
Ice is amazingly beautiful and majestic, but you better be ready to lose a lot!

  6. My holiday plans video game wise are split between shiny hunting in Pokemon Ultra Moon and playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Both of which are great.

I managed to get a shiny Poipole fairly quickly, and then I found a Regice in a wormhole and figured whats more appropriate for winter than shiny hunting a sentient block of ice!

I’ll be getting my woman some Pokemon related stuff for Christmas as well, probably Kantonian and Alolan Vulpix plushes and some clothes, etc.

Other than that, just spending time with family and house hunting.

Sam (moving) you never told us what you were doing, come on man, get with it 😛 nice to see you again.

  7. So if the info is correct:
Pokemon Switch will come out in 2019 (probably early)
The Starters are: A Racoon, a Wolf and a (Mountain) Goat

    Am I Correct?

  8. My assumptions based on the leak
Gen 8 games come out early 2019
The Region is based on Canada
    The starters are
Grass type Racoon (could evolve into Grass/Dark, probably kinda Feminine)
Fire type Mountain Goat (could evolve into Fire/Rock or Fire/Steel)
Water type Coastal Wolf (could evolve into Water/Psychic or Water/Ghost)

      • Yeah, but Diffrent parts of Canada are much less known that diffrent parts of the US. GF could’ve probably made a region out of just one part of France, but they didn’t. I know Canada is huge, but Hey, if Pokemon Switch is Open World the region will probably be huge too.

        Reply
        • Technically they only used North France… still, that’s over Half of France, and I have never seen a reference I could use as a comparison of the Area Unova Takes up Vs Kalos Vs 4 parts of Japan Vs Hawaii. You can easily compare the size of the first 4 Regions. Also France is F’n Huge compared to the first 4 in general, and Canada is F’n huge compared to France

    • Also, this is the perfect country for this starter trio, not only are ”Sea Wolves” exclusive to parts of Vancouver, but Goats and Racoon are common and active species there too

  9. doing a lot of research I discovered a mythological creature known as a Akhlut which is a Orca/Wolf spirit from Inuit mythology, commonly believed in Alaska, Canada, and Greenland. With the rumored Water type wolf and the guy who posted the picturing like my reply with the research including could basically hint towards a canada region (like butter says below) or even Greenland, heresa picture of the said mytho.

    • I like Persona, I don’t own the First 3 Games, and Own 3 but haven’t actually played it. I recently FINALLY got a MSLR in Golden that I have yet to Finish the Final boss for because I haven’t finished Reaper Grinding

  10. If we’re getting a Goat starter, and all Fire starters fully Evolved are bipedal, we’d probably get a bipedal Fire Goat. Do you think that could maybe have some Satanic influences, or would that be too edgy for GF?

  11. Yo people what’s up I’m back after being gone for a really long time.

How’s everyone enjoying USUM and how are we feeling on Switch games?

    • SuMo was overhyped.

Everyone said the games were very difficult and the story was amazing. I was somewhat disappointed when i played it a week later cos I live in Europe…

        • This is my third time playing in Alola and I am going to play it for a fourth time next year, I will let everyone know if my feelings while playing it will decrease after that many times.

          • But I mean like… I don’t want to replay it because it is a totally unenjoyable experience. All of the enjoyment comes from the new things that after you give a minute of thought lose their novelty

They have good elements. Some of the best Pokémon in a long time, Alolan forms are a great idea even if it isn’t executed amazingly and the music is the best in the series.

But the game itself is just a slog

        • There is too much boring dialogue. Gens 1-5 just let us get on with it once we were shown how to capture a Pokemon.

SuMo (and i imagine USUM) have constant dialogue every time you reach a new place, it gets tedious and boring fast…(Seriously Shut Up Lillie)

          • “Can I tag along with you?”
“Can you show me how to get ____?”

Despite this bitch never actually walking with us like an ally would in Gen 4 and instead going on without us.

          • Sun and Moon would be 10x better if it was full of double battles and you had Lillie with you and that’s how you learned more about her. You could talk to her on your own.

Oh but that what be too big a change to their precious formula and they can’t optimize double battles for sh*t

          • Yeah with the way they linked us to her, it really would’ve suited the story to make it more co-op with her and give us an even closer look at her journey to being a trainer.

    • It isn’t at all. Lillie was just good so it made us critically think about it less. I still just think Skull does not belong in the plotline. Guzma is so interesting, but has little bearing on the outcome. They could’ve used that time to make AF better.

  12. It’s insane to me that Kanto has more dungeons and more fleshed out dungeons than Alola.

    Alola only has what… three?

    Diglett’s Cave
    Victory Road
    Vast Poni Canyon?

And all of those areas are so short

  13. I really kinda have few things to be hyped about now
The Titans show started shooting and we already got to see the epic Robin suit
Doctor Who will have a regeneration pretty soon
    And now this Starter Leak!

  14. Although I enjoyed SM and USUM I’ll have to agree with some of y’all with the fact it’s pretty small and could’ve had more rooms. I’m optimistic that Gen 8 will be significantly bigger.
