Niantic has officially announced the Pokémon GO Travel event!
From now until to November 26th, trainers across the globe must work toward the goal of collectively catching 3 billion Pokémon in Pokémon GO! As the week progresses, and more ‘mons are caught, rewards will start to roll out: At 500 million Pokémon caught we’ll get 2x Experience, 6 hour Lure Modules and an increase of worldwide spawns. At 1.5 billion, we’ll get the previosuly mentioned bonuses plus 2x Stardust and even more increased spawns. And if we reach our goal of 3 billion we’ll get all the aforementioned rewards plus Farfetch’d will spawn worldwide for 48 hours (Kangaskhan will spawn in East Asia as compensation)!

In main game news, (much to our surprise) Pokémon Bank is already compatible with Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon! Requiring 516 block, version 1.4 of the application is now available for download via the eShop. Along this, compatibility for transfers from Pokémon Gold & Silver can now be made in Poké Transporter.
What will be the first Pokémon your transfer to your new Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon games? Excited to finally add Farfetch’d to your Pokédex in GO?

According to serebii, you can’t bank the totem sized mons based on USUM totems, but the SuMo sized totems are a-okay. I’d imagine this is an oversight as new Lycan, Pikachu and Ultra Beasts are all bankable and it’d be weird if only a few can transfer forward
Maybe Totem Sized Pokemon will be available in Gen 8 too.
In a outrageous fury I incinerated that wimpy Totem Ribombee, didn’t even try to fight back it just spammed quiver dance

Kind of upset some of the totem sized Pokemon are blocked by bank. I hope it’s just a glitch and will be fixed since a few of them are able to get up there. I don’t want to have to ditch my planned totem once gen 8 comes out.

People like taking their teams forward in case they reset, using them in side activities, and just having them for sentimental value.
And competitive.. it’s like using a shiny. We don’t just restart every gen.. that’s what bank is for.
I like keeping my teams whole when I transfer up. I always bring all my teams with me when new gens start. Doesn’t amtter if I use them or not.
You can’t transfer them because gen 8 likely won’t have totem Pokémon, so there’s no point in transfering them.
I don’t know how hard it would be to make some Pokemon bigger than others… It’s like owning a shiny. They already do something similar with pumkaboo. Their totem status would be irrelevant then.. they can just give it a Ribbon showing it previously was.
I say all of this with no interest in owning one.
I just don’t think they will keep the concept of Totem Pokémon and will want to do something new. It’s technically possible, but they will creatively decide against.
I really couldn’t see a good reason why…. But yeah. Their choice.
You can bank the ones introduced in Sun and Moon, which means they’re most likely transferable. That’s why people think it’s weird.

I hope they allow all them to go on, people use them in teams and you don’t need to totems to have totem sized mons especially if they reuse the same models next Gen again
The point is I like having all my teams together. If I can’t transfer up then it feels like I’m leaving something behind

What I really like about USUM is that the level curve for bosses feels like old Pokémon games when you done have the EXP Share on

The U.S. in Go really is on the losing end of the spectrum
-During the event back in July we got one area where all regionals can be found, while Europe got like 10 different events that lasted a few days and Japan also got them
-We get a dinky Farfetch’d to fill the dex, Japan gets Kangaskahn a Pokémon people would actually use
-Japan got the Pikachu festival, we got back nothing

-They got Marshadow months ahead of us
-Gets every event (and when another place gets an event, they get something twice as good)

We never got good event distributions and we were usually the last of Jap/America/Europe to get the games
