Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon
- The first Global Mission for Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon has been announced! For our first mission players must collectively catch 10,000,000 Pokémon by November 28th, 2017. If we succeed, 2,000 Festival Coins will be given to all participants. However, if we fail, then only 1,000 Festival Coins will be given out
- The list of Global Missions up to June 2018 has also been released:
- December 12th-27th: Have Fun Mantine Surfing!
- January 9th-23rd: Win at the Battle Agency
- February 6th-20th: Harvest Poké Beans!
- March 6th-20th: Trade Pokémon at the GTS

Pokémon Global Link
- In preparation for Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon’s release, the Global Link is currently shut down for maintenance until November 17th. Between now and then all Global Link features are currently unavailable.
- As part of Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon’s release, making an account for the Pokémon Global Link before January 30th will get you a special serial code (to be distributed around the end of January, 2018) to receive a Master Ball in game
Pokkén Tournament DX
- The previously announced Pokkén Tournament DX patch now has “Mid-November” as its slated release date. This update…
- Allows you to play Team Battle matches online
- Introduces new rewards when you reach higher ranks in Ranked Match battles online
- Adds the recording feature to Free Training
Build-A-Bear
- Starting this week you can head to you local Build-A-Bear and make your very own Bulbasaur! A special Build-A-Bear Bulbasaur TCG card and beanie/scarf accessories can also be obtained either online or in store
- Jigglypuff and Psyduck have been confirmed as the next Build-A-Bear Pokémon plush, and are slated for a 2018 release
Pokémon Duel
- Requiring 247MB, version 4.0.4 of the mobile game is now available for download! This update fixes several bugs, adds several new Steel and Poison-type Plates, introduces a special 10 pack booster with a guaranteed EX/UX drop, brings changes to some figures, and adds a few new ones:
- New EX Figures: Incineroar & Tapu Bulu
- New R Figures: Torracat & Ludicolo
- New UC Figures: Litten, Lombre, & Oricori (Baile Style)
- Mega Charizard X change: Movement increased from 2 to 3
- Mega Charizard Y change: Movement increased from 2 to 3
- Chesnaught change: Increased Hammer Arm’s power from 90 to 100
- Torterra change: Increased Bite’s power from 60 to 100
Pokémon Shuffle
- The new Ditto stage is available until November 14th

I’ve completed 4 kingdoms in Mario Odyssey today .-.
So far I have 489 Moons
Wooded Kingdom, Lake Kingdom, Cloud Kingdom, and Lost Kingdom are all 100% completed. I have also 100% completed Cap Kingdom, Cascade Kingdom, Sand Kingdom and the Ruined Kingdom. 😀
Nice job! I have 561 Power Moons right now. Currently also completing the Kingdoms 100% in order of when they appeared. I’m currently on the Metro Kingdom.

Me! Even though the leaks confirmed our fears, I’m excited to experience the new stuff. I know it isn’t as big as last year, but it’ll still be fun to lose myself into Alola once more.
I’ll say this: I’m mildly anticipating it. There are things I want to try out, like the ultra wormhole stuff, but if I’m being honest I’m already over gen 7 lol
I’ll admit, it’s a little disheartening to see that so many people are mostly dismissing it when it’s like 5 days away. This is when hype should be at its highest, but it seems everyone has their own problem with the game, me included. I just wish the community as a whole would start focusing on the new fun stuff rather than stomped dreams.
I’ll admit, I’m guilty, but I’m trying to be more of an optimist.
Said it once, I’ll say it a million times: BRING BACK THE BATTLE FRONTIER! Seriously you have no idea how I and probably many other people would be more hyped for this game if they just *listened*

And I’m not saying that we need to be happy with what it is and shut up about it, but I think it’d benefit if we just appreciated the fact that we actually have the factory back, or that move tutors or back, etc. It seems that we’ll never get another HGSS, but I just want to enjoy it for what it is now. We can complain later, plenty of time for that in the forseen drought year.
Oh, for sure. My attitude towards these games has changed quite a lot. I still have problems with them of course, but I also want to experience them first hand now and really detail out my criticisms and praises for their choice to make a third version instead of a sequel.
That’s a good way to think about it. Maybe the leaks were for the best, that way people could have time to sort out initial dissapointment and appreciate the games for what they are, not for what they had expected.
Besides, I’ve only read the leaks, I have yet to see much of the stuff in action (other than the new pokes).

There has been pressure towards Game Freak to get Pokemon’s 8th Generation out in hopes of a release next year. If you recall Pokemon Stars, that is (or was) real, but all it was was a Sun and Moon port to the Switch, used as an engine test tech demo thing.
Metroid Prime 4 should have something revealed with some in-game footage early next year from what I’ve heard. I’m hearing that Direct in January particularly. Bandai Namco is developing the game for Nintendo. I don’t know which development studio.
There is some kind of new Animal Crossing that they hope to release next year too.
The Switch’s Virtual Console will not be like how it currently is known to be like. There is some kind of a subscription service of sorts in the works.
Mother 3 is real. According to my source, it was completely localized and playable. The sad thing that I’ve heard is that it is being held back for some reason, which all I know has something to do with not knowing which month to release it in.
According to one of my sources, they claim that Square Enix is doing The World Ends With You 2 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
Blizzard is preparing a Hearthstone port for the Switch. I’m not sure when this will be announced due to the phrasing, but I heard about this when I went to Blizzcon.

I’m personally not too worried. I remember we discussed this in another story on the site earlier today. If this rumor is true, then that means Game Freak has been working on and considering a Switch game since 2016 or earlier as Pokemon Stars was announced right after Sun and Moon released. I also found another interview that said that they put the veteran staff at Game Freak to work on the Switch project while they put younger developers of Game Freak to work on USUM. I can find a link to that interview if you want.

Personally I’d drop Pelipper for Mightyena. Intimidate might come in handy. Also get that voltorb to 30 and evolve it lol

If you train the Voltorb up more and evolve it into Electrode (it evolves at Level 30, so you’re one level short), it should be able to make quick work of most of her team. You can use Vibrava for her Altaria or teach Wailmer an Ice type move.

I’ve loved dinosaurs ever since I was a kid, especially the T-Rex. One of my favorite Disney movies when I was younger was Dinosaur. Such an overshadowed and underrated movie. So when they designed Tyrantrum for X and Y, it was love at first sight. And I found out that Tyrantrum’s designer was Hitoshi Ariga. I want to find him and personally thank him one for designing one of my favorite Pokemon ever.
I love Alola! It deserves better.. it’s just.. no one is ever as excited for a second game of a gen compared to a new gen. Understandably so. But even bigger.. there is the Switch and the New Pokemon game for it overshadowing it. It’s doomed from the start. Once again. I Love alola and the anime.. it’s just these factors rushing it ahead

They have many many strong points. Excellent region design in Kalos. The beauty and french theme were well implemented, intro of mega evos, good mons. Simplified experience.

Understandably there were a few weak points like all games (Pokemon). And I will say probably the weakest games overall.
However IMO XY were faaar better than DP. DP was utter trash, so slow and boring with so many flaws.
It was Platinum that saved gen 4 and if XY got a Z fixing issues XY had it would be much better.

I know there must be some fans of anime movies around here, since this is a Pokemon site and all. I know Studio Ghibli has always been the big deal, but this one has nothing to do with them yet is so incredible it almost exceeds it to me. It’s called “In This Corner of the World” and it came out last year. The animation is so beautiful and detailed, the story is incredible and it’s basically just perfect (like Princess Kaguya). If I can get just one person to see this I will feel fulfilled, but I would prefer more than that! Here’s the theme music, which is just as amazing.

No time to set aside 2 hours? I wouldn’t want to live your life 🙁 I watched it on KissAnime for free, but I guess the dub was just added last week because the Blu-ray actually releases on November 14. I was going to pre-order it tonight because it’s just that spectacular.
It’s not that I don’t have time. I have three tests this week. I’ll have time over Thanksgiving Break next week. But I will want to devote that time to Pokémon USUM. I will also have another Medical School interview during that time and I have skipped out on extended family gatherings for over a year because I live across the country so I don’t I will be able to avoid it over that break. Thus, Pokémon USUM will probably bleed into the free time of the remainder of my school term. I’m saying this based on the fact that it took me a week of Thanksgiving to get through SM last year. But if I get finished early Friday than I might be able to watch it this week. There is just a lot of uncertainties right now in my life.
Below is a review that I wrote about X and Y a long time ago. I don’t know what made me give it such a high score and amount of praise. Looking back, I realize that X and Y has some flaws, just like any other Pokemon game.
WARNING: A very long read and may a little too praise worthy for those of you that hate Pokemon X and Y. Lol.
**START**
“Hello fellow readers,
The following is my review for the newest Pokemon games, X and Y:
Overall, X and Y are really good. But I am disappointed with some things. The lack of post-game content is a real turn off for me as well as the low number of new Pokemon. But I really want to say that each new Pokemon in this game actually had a purpose and I had a tough time deciding my team members. There was also some things taken out in XY that were still in Black and White as well as things removed from BW that I wanted to return such as Cycling Road and a ship in the post-game such as the S.S. Tidal. I also feel like the Fairy type can’t be taken seriously because of the lackluster new Pokemon and moves that back up the type as well as the stereotypical little girls that train them. There is one exception to this rule, however and that is Florges, the final evolution of Flabebe! I was almost not gonna use one but I would of regretted the decision. Florges in my opinion has one of the most beautiful designs of all the Fairy types! She really does look like a queen and can tear things up and take hits like no one’s business! I also love all of the old Pokemon that got retyped to Fairy. My favorites of which are Togekiss, Clefable, Wigglytuff, and Gardevoir. All of which are very appropriate in my opinion for a retype. It gives the four of these Pokemon much more potential than they had before. I do however wish that more Pokemon like Delcatty also got retyped as I think that would of made a lot of sense. It is nice though to see that some of the moves and Pokemon I expected to get retyped, got retyped. I wish there was more. Now, for the story! They pulled this off flawlessly! It was not as strong as Black and White but it was just enough like the Sinnoh games. I love how Team Flare’s Xerosic has a side arc for him in the post-game much like Platinum and Charon. Team Flare had one of the darkest plots of any villainous team when you look into it. I can’t help but compare Lysandre to Adolf Hitler. Both wanted a beautiful world and attempted genocide of millions of people. Lysandre also tries to kill you but ends up killing himself in the process. Of course, this is just an assumption as it is never stated in-game but a lot of people refer to him in the past tense, including Sycamore. Team Flare really keeps the tradition going! The grunts have a variety of Pokemon but like other villainous teams besides Team Plasma, there is now a few generic Pokemon that are used by almost every Grunt, which makes it feel more like Team Rocket before. Team Flare has a hideout like the villainous teams from the first four generations. All of their missions involving them are very lengthy just like Team Rocket, Aqua, Magma, and Galactic. Returning to even more traditional roots is that you face Team Flare a final time and the Legendary Pokemon they sought after the 7th Gym and before the 8th. Another thing I highly praise is the levels in this game! Gym Leaders and trainers had nice levels between each area. The final levels before you even faced the League were at the early Lv. 60’s! The only problem is that if one uses a Mega Evolution or turns on the Exp. Share, they can grind through Gym Leaders and trainers like no tomorrow. Keeping the Exp. Share off provides a stiff challenge. But it’s really awesome at times to have it on. And I found myself using it frequently. Another thing to note is that the Gym Leaders and Elite Four all had designs and personalities similar to previous Gym Leaders and that most didn’t have a secondary occupation like the ones in Black and White. Some were even based after a trainer class, such as Ramos being the head of all Gardeners, a new trainer class introduced. The Gym Leader teams felt basic, but it was the nice basic feel that Diamond and Pearl pulled off so well. One thing that wasn’t present in Diamond and Pearl that was however a staple of the series from Platinum onward is that the Elite Four don’t gain new teams after defeating the main story. It’s a little disappointing, considering that all of the members could have benefited from the add of two more Pokemon to their teams. One thing I do like is that Gym Leaders can be rematched at a new facility called the Battle Chateau. Unlike Black and White 2, you actually gain EXP. from defeating these Gym Leaders. But one thing that I find rather gimmicky is that the Leaders don’t appear all the time, but it’s actually quite similar to Emerald now that I think about it. They would call you when their Gym was open, which could take forever. You can also rechallenge the Elite Four in the Battle Chateau but they have the exact same teams as when you faced them before, just higher level. The Battle Chateau overall is a wonderful place to train! Better than the stadiums in Nimbasa City as you can battle these trainers more than once a day. As you rank up, they can be chosen to get even tougher, with the levels soaring into the 70’s! There is a lot of potential for these games to go even further in the sequels. I feel like a lot of questions and holes were left in the overall main plot, which is expected for the first paired versions of a generation. Zygarde has taken some getting used to, but I really think it has the potential to shine well in Z version, especially if it is given a new form. But I’ll save my complete opinions for it until I see one for myself and the Sugimori artwork. It looks kinda irregular in the games. One side being mossy green and the other like a skin of a snake. It also doesn’t look as badass overall as Giratina, Rayquaza, and Kyurem before it. But the confirmation of Zygarde has finally put to rest that the Legendaries are indeed based off of Norse Mythology as it is snake like like Nidhogrr. In fact, Xerneas in it’s immobile state looks like a tree! One thing that I found touch and go, was the routes. I really love how even though some of the areas that felt linear, had lots of side stuff hidden away from the main road to do. And some routes were just lengthy in general. Some routes had potential but it was overlooked because of lack of trainers and side route stuff to do. These routes include Route 9, 10, 11, 12 (could of had more trainers, long route overall), 14, 17. Some of my favorite routes for Kalos include Route 4, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22. A lot of locations in Kalos however were not where I expected them to be. Some of the longest routes such as Route 9 and Route 17 didn’t have any trainers at all, just the Sky Trainers which I had to bypass after finding out Hawlucha can’t participate. Next thing is the graphics, which is a no brainer. The graphics for this game are stunning. These games take the graphics to heights that were almost unimaginable back in the old days. They transitioned over to this very well. A lot of the familiar designs for trainer classes remain, as well as the types of NPCs you encounter looking similar to previous generations only bigger sized, making it feel all the more at home. To wrap this all up, I want to say something about the post-game. I was complaining about this at first but I realize that almost all Pokemon games since Red and Blue lack a post-game that keeps you addicted for much long. For instance, FireRed and LeafGreen are great, with the Sevii Islands and all, but once you complete them and catch Mewtwo, there isn’t much left to do. It feels the same way with XY. There is a small side quest series with Looker in the post-game along with catching Mewtwo, Zygarde, and the Kanto Legendary Birds. The exception to this rule however is the Generation IV games and Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Even then, once you completed all the missions in the post-game, there wasn’t much left to do. Especially the case I found with Gold, Silver, and Crystal, and their remakes. But the point I think about the post-game is to capture all the remaining Pokemon that you didn’t catch during the main story. Black and White pulled this off really well. It made collecting Pokemon loads of fun, especially with the mechanics that came with it such as shaking grass and dust clouds and high leveled evolved Pokemon to be found. An example of this is Tyranitar. You do, however, have to have lots of patience for this, which some people don’t have. It made something to truly strife for instead of traditionally leveling up our Pokemon, we got to hunt for them in the wild. It is nice to see that the shaking grass and dust clouds do come back but with a new twist. Pokemon actually can swoop down from the sky, a bush, or from the celling of caves! It really made the game feel so much more livelier, having a Woobat on the celling come out as a shadow at first then suddenly attack you! Oh man though! I feel like I covered everything in XY when I am forgetting a focal point: Mega Evolutions! I really like the designs of all the Mega Evolutions for the most part and feel like the Pokemon that needed them, got them, such as Houndoom. Mega Evolutions aren’t too overpowered depending on the Pokemon that Mega Evolves, such as Houndoom and Gengar. It actually gives them a boost that they deserve! Some though, like Tyranitar, felt a little too much. To finally conclude, X and Y are great games and a worthy addition to add to the series for long time fans! I can not wait for the sequel(s) to these games to take the Kalos region even further! My prelim score for XY is going to be a 9.5 out of 10. I will likely revise the score later.”

Cactowl was such a great fakemon. I remember seeing this when it first showed up and thinking that while I was sure it was fake it was also the coolest fake I had seen up to that point. BW2 was really awesome, but the idea of there being a second set of starters that appeared in Unova was such a cool idea. It was the fact that BW2 were sequels that made that ideal feel feasible. That said obviously it never happened. Prolly won’t ever even if we do eventually get another sequel game for whatever.

BOTW update. Ended up in zoras domain but had to backtrack after being killed multiple times lol also ended up seeing a dragon out in the wild. Followed it best I could.
