The long awaited Nintendo Direct is just a few minutes away from going live! We’ve been promised a 45 minute presentation about what’s up and coming on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, and the Nintendo Switch – and we’re incredibly hopeful that we’ll be getting some new details on Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon! We’ll be updating this post with any Pokémon relevant live updates down below (be sure to refresh this post), and make posts about any heavy hitting news shortly after! LIVE UPDATES
- 0:40 – The Direct is starting off with Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon!
- 0:45 – USUM trailer is showing off lots of new footage from the games. Including new areas, and a beautiful cutscene showing Necrozma absorbing Solgaleo/Lunala.
- 1:30 – Overview of Necrozma’s focus on the USUM story, and confirms the English names Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma.
- 1:50 – “Charting New Areas of Alola” feature that shows new locations in Alola such as a beach where surfers gather (notice the new surfer NPC and Poké Ride Mantine), and a valley full of Pikachu. New clothes such as a Pikachu hat and shirt is featured as well.
- 2:15 – The way you choose your starter in USUM is incredibly different. The three Alola starters defend you from a wild Yungoos, and you choose one shortly after.
- 2:20 – Reminder of the event Rockruff that can evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc that will be distributed for players who purchase the game before January 10th, 2018. If you purchase a digital version of the games before January 10th, 2018 you’ll receive 12 Quick Balls in game.
- 2:47 – Reminder that Pokémon Gold & Silver versions are coming to the eShop on September 22nd. If you purchase either one you’ll receive a special Celebi for your SM or USUM games via code. You can pre-purchase the Virtual Console games shortly after the direct ends
- 3:10 – NEW ULTRA BEASTS! UB Burst will be exclusive to Ultra Sun while UB Assembly will be exclusive to Ultra Moon
- 3:40 – A gorgeous PokéBall Edition of the New Nintendo 2DS XL will be available November 3rd

So theres 2 new Z-Moves for this Lycanroc or is this just its confirmed name? Either way I MAY actually use dusk form in my USUM playthrough. As for the new UBs im shocked that we got actual new mon in the game. UBBurst > UBAssembly

Dive is pretty much all it should be. Replacing Lapras would be lazy and unnecessary. Guess it could be whirlpool if they bring those back.
I think adding dive and whirlpool would be just as unnecessary but its GF we’re talkin bout here

It would be unecessary unless they add grass areas to find low%pkmn like bruxish/maerine (spelling)/ feebas and stuff

Analysis on UB-Burst and UB-Assembly
Burst
a bizarre molecular looking ultra beast with a detachable head like sphere that can explode into fireworks, it appears to act whimsical and expressive always twirling and maneuvering its sphere in a manner of spins passes and throws
it’s probably anything from Fire, Electric, Psychic, Fairy
Assembly
a fortified pokemon consisting of entity of living bricks, each brick possessing a eye or mind of its own and creates a defensive shell around its body despite lacking a vulnerable internal structure, it can see everything around itself and must rearrange its segments inorder to protect itself from any manner of attacks
possible types: Steel, Rock, Psychic, Ghost
Can get on board with all of this
Fire/Electric
Rock/Ghost or Rock/Psychic
yeah fire is looking more and more viable since it hit Metagross and Decedueye SE damage
My prediction:
Burst has BIG chances to be Grass, as a Dandelion, but fireworks work Well too. Fairy is sure.
Assembly is probably rock/Ghost, Maybe Psychic.
What do you think about burst being fairy/fighting? The whimsical look makes me think fairy and the stance it took near the end has me thinking fighting.

I am extremely happy about today. With the news drop on Pokémon, and they announced that my school is starting again on Monday September 25th! This is like a 15+ day break that I have. The place that I am staying at in Miami is fine as well!

You think they added new Pokemon this time because they don’t fully consider the UBS as actual Pokemon? Like if they were considered regular legendaries they wouldn’t have introduced brand new ones mid gen? Seems like a weird place to stop. Seems like a weird thing to stop at. They could easily introduce brand new legend in general the same way. It would cut down on leaks as well if they were to hold off on some until mid gen games. They wouldn’t need to have them in the OG games then.
I would be very shocked if we don’t get new alolans. But I suppose those aren’t new pokemon. I’d rather they just drop a bunch of new pokemon at the start of the gen like gens 3 and 5, rather than half and half. I would like more new regular pokemon from these games, but seeings as we’re like 2 months out, don’t see it happening.

Try a Starter you didn’t use. Maybe you’ll like Lycan Dusk in game. Maybe if you use them, your least hated alola mons will become ones you actually like!
I don’t want to use Lycanroc again. Dusk is not different enough. Maybe if the typing was different, but it’ll be like Midday all over again, which is better anyway. The only starter I didn’t use was Popplio, but I’d rather have Araquanid as my water type so that isn’t happening.

Interesting trailer I suppose but eh… Where is the third form or UB or whatever that was supposed to be announced and it also seems that the story is nearly identical to the original which is meh. Oh well.
I wouldn’t say identical just yet, but it does sorta look that way. Either way, their secrecy could pay off big time in suprises, or dissapoint everyone if it turns out they don’t show a lot because they don’t have a lot.
