As part of a campaign in Japan to determine which Hiker is the best across all generations, the official Japanese Pokémon Twitter account has just posted some brand new footage from Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon!
The 20 second clip shows the male protagonist walking up to the peak of Wela Volcano, where Kiawe’s trial was in Sun & Moon, only to encounter a hiker instead. Upon talking to him he says “Alola! You’re probably wondering who I am, huh?” – you can watch it below:

Is the peak of the volcano no longer a trial site? Is this video teasing that Kiawe is no longer a trial captain in USUM? Or was this footage just taken during Kiawe’s sidequest where’s he’s at home instead? Time to speculate in the comments!
