New Trailers Released for Pokkén Tournament DX

Two new Japanese trailers for Pokkén Tournament DX has been released and showcases more footage of the game which will be released September 22nd for the Nintendo Switch. In addition to the characters from the Wii U version, DX also includes brand new characters such as Decidueye from last year’s Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

The game also features new support Pokémon and new battle modes!

Are you planning on picking up DX and did you buy the original Pokkén Tournament? Personally I’m looking forward to purchasing it when it launches!

  1. so taking account of my stupid brains subconscious activity i have birthed several fakemons

Cheetesla Electric/Fighting a 2 staged Cheetah pokemon that uses its powerful electrically charged muscles to fight and run at incredibly fast speeds

Infloato Fairy/Flying it is a very bizarre monkey made out of a rubbery substance that can stretch and inflate allowing it to float in the air and bop attacks back, its hands and tail can inflate like a balloon

Arpeyem Bug/Flying a weevil beetle with wings that spin like helicopter blades

    • Alright i just really like this Balloon Monkey
      Infloato
      The Balloon Pokemon
      Static/Quick Feet HA: Unburden
this chimpanzee like pokemon has several brightly colored flotation sacs incorporated in its rubbery white body, one in each of its hands, one in the stomach, and one on the tip of its tail, they are red, cyan, yellow and pink, they intake air and inflate them like balloons, their head has big puckered lips and spherical ears

      • Sorry, I know the feeling, I got my larvitar into a Level 68 Tyranitar in 2 battles. Didn’t even have to do anything much as they only have Healing Wish.

I like the type a lot. There are a lot of good ground type designs. I always try to carry one on my team. I really hate when it’s paired with rock though..they need to stop that forever

    • Favorite: Gliscor/Bertha
      Least favorite: Dugtrio/Giovanni or Clay
General thoughts: I always have a ground type pokemon in my party (pretty much to handle electric types), and I like a lot of them. Same can’t be said for rock though…

    • Oh this’ll be rich…….
Favorite: Giovanni and Rhyperior, Giovanni is not only the leader of a powerful crime syndicate he is also the strongest Gym Leader in Kanto and though it is pretty much manga exclusive he is a extremely knowlegable master of Ground type pokemon even going as far as writing a book on them (Mysteries of the Earth and even being dubbed Giovanni of the Land) and discovering that Rhydon could evolve further, and as for Rhyperior he is basically me in pokemon for, a towering behemoth coated in rocky plates and drills and even going far as having a club on its tail which is totally me and its once signature attack Rock Wrecker just screams power
Least Favorite: Hapu and Wormadam, Hapu is just somebody that didn’t leave a lasting impression on me, she just barely registered her presence or her ideology (or i haven’t paid too close attention, and as for the Bagworm it is truly the worst it would’ve been better as a Rock type

Anyone who knows me or have heard of me it is pretty fucking clear that Ground type pokemon are my god damn life, i have a connection to the earth element spiritually and willfully and Ground type pokemon represent a strong tenacity to embrace any type of challenge and send quakes of strength to conquer it
i always find a Ground type and make it on my team no matter what and a young Earthen once spent literal day on pokemon Red looking for a Sandshrew to match the toy one he kept with him all the time, in his pocket in bed and the freaking tub and cried for days when he lost it at the beach

Gliscor, it was one of the very first Mons that I loved since I was little, it’s cool, kinda cute and very useful competitively

Bertha, kinda unusual for an old lady to be a ground type trainer which makes me like her more and the fact that she isn’t the typical cliche ground trainer

      Least:
Golem, because is weird looking, outclasses Gigalith and is kinda ugly imo

Clay for killing 2/3 of my team in my current Whitelocke :<

It's better than rock in every aspect, the Mons have a nice variety within its Mons and some of them are very interesting (Golurk, Claydol and Flygon. Who have nice designs) They're are very powerful and honestly, there are a lot of mons in this type that I like, like Camerupt Torrtera and Palossand.

And they're the best earthquake spammers out there.

      • Crime Leader/ Sweet old LAdy/ Country guy/ Nice girl. What’s the ground stereotype.
I also agree and forgot to mention ground is definitely a better Rock type. I kind wish they merged the two to make Earth but oh well.

        • Hapu isn’t really a “nice girl.” She’s more of a “country girl” type character if anything, which is where her ground type comes from

          Reply
          • it really just comes from her clothes i mean the dull earthy brown, honestly if you changed her outfit you wouldn’ve never seen her as a ground user

          • She’s written (in the English version at least) with an accent though. I think her clothes fit her personality and demeanor, you could change them, but not away from something that says “small town country farm girl” in my opinion. Ground fits her well enough.

Now that I think about it, a lot of types just don’t really fit their trainers. Look at the basic ass psychic experts who all have psychic abilities because GF isn’t creative enough to connect other ideas with the psychic type. Lucian I guess is the most creative there. Psychic trainers are a snooze fest. And then we have random ass Acerola who is for some reason a ghost expert. I guess at least she’s different and not edgy. I also suppose though that you can specialize in a type that doesn’t necessarily match your personality and appearance, but GF likes to try and pair the two things. You don’t see Nanu as a fairy type Kahuna, now do you

          • Honestly idk how I picture her sounding. I still cannot for the life of me tell how old she is

          • I guess if I had to guess, I’d say she’s no older than 25, but definitely not younger than 15. So I’m guessing she’s just not very tall

        • When I picture ground trainers, I think of hikers, so for me, the typical ground trainer was the thought country guy, but I haven’t realized how much variety they really have until now :0

    • FP: This is hard… I think it may be a tie this time between Rhydon and Trapinch. I seriously cant pick one. Rhydon is one of the coolest Mid-stage Pokemon and can easily pass off as a final evolution (as it did for 3 generations). And its not as fat as its final evolution. Its still slim enough to chase after you, and can be used in battle. Trapinch is just so cute. I love its star eye, and its adorable big mouth. I like how it digs sand traps. Thats a pretty cool concept. And it has the same attack stat as Flygon (Flygon is disappointing).
FL: Clay. I like his country accent. He isnt a mean person either. And Like all his gold. he’s definitely high class. Hes also got pretty cool Pokemon. Excadrill ace is always nice.

LP: Rhyperior. Incredible how the Final evolution is now my Least Favorite. But its just so ugly to me. The ‘bulk’ just looks like a bunch of fat. With Eviolite Introduced Im pretty sure Rhydon is the better wall. Just wish Rhydon got Solid Rock. That whole trade evolution is also bogus. Just a bad Pokemon. Its only use is Evioliting Rhydon.
LL: Giovanni. Its not that I dislike Giovanni. I just think its weird hes a ground type leader. And in FRLG he doesnt even use Rhydon. Just a level 50 Rhyhorn. What type of bogus is that?

General Thoughts. Ground types are ok… It was hard for me to find a favorite. If I put all the types together they just dont appeal to me. EQ is the only good thing from me. They are definitely on the lower half the spectrum of favorite types.

      • Oh shit…you might as well have just punched Earthen in the face.

I agree on the Giovanni part though. I don’t understand how ground fits him at all. Like I get that dark type wasn’t around yet, but I think being a normal expert with Persian and Kangaskhan as aces would’ve fit more.

        • Omg Thank you!
I was seriously gonna say he should have been a normal type, but I opted not to. But I seriously agree. Normal type is actually a good type for gym leaders. Persian Kanga Tauros Snorlax Dodrio. I just dont think Ground fit him either.

Lol Puhlease, it’s up to Earthen if he wants to be offended

          Reply
          • Normal does work a bit better, though like I said, I do love me some trainers who have a bunch of types 🙂

          • Tbh I don’t really remember him screaming “ground type” in the manga either. I love the idea of him being a mixed trainer with

            Rhyperior
            Persian
            Honchkrow
            Beedrill (mega)

            Then maybe like Kanga/Nidosomething

    • Favourite Pokemon: Gliscor, I just love that grimace and it’s just such a great looking Pokemon. http://pa1.narvii.com/5740/e4709f0f03477f03d849e4eaf61b4f6c9aaba338_hq.gif
Favourite Leader: Bertha, she seems so nice, she can also be challenging. http://31.media.tumblr.com/19a6e8cea03ff81f5609decb8f6a2974/tumblr_mjtg8d5igQ1r3ifxzo1_500.gif

Least Favourite Pokemon: Alolan Dugtrio, I still just don’t like it, the short haired one is the worst.
Least Favourite Leader: Clay, just not that interesting to me, I like his gym though.

I love the Ground type, so many great Pokemon, such a powerful type, even if attacks tend not to vary much (Earthquake) in usage. Other favourites of this type: Gligar; Cubone Line; Phanpy Line; Swinub line; Sandshrew line; Nidoking and Nidoqueen; Kanto Diglett line; Wooper line; Larvitar and Pupitar; Ryhorn and Rhydon; Onix line (+Mega); Kanto Geodude line; Marshtomp line (+Mega); Numel line(+Mega); Trapinch line; Whiscash; Claydol; Groudon(+Primal); Torterra; Gastrodon (Blue more than Pink); Gible line; Hippopotatoes line; Drilbur line; Golett line; Sandile line; Landorus Therian; Diggersby; Zygarde (+formes); Mudsdale and Sandygast line.

    • Favorite Ground type: I’m pretty sure you all know which one is it.
Favorite Gym Leader: Giovanni – I thought that the concept of having a Gym leader that was the Villainous Team Leader was smart, which made the player’s desire to defeat this last gym leader greater.
Least favorite Ground type: Diggersby – I was so horrified that Bunnelby evolved into this wreck.
Least favorite Gym Leader: Hapu – She’s just kinda… there….

  4. I finally got back into the mapping mood 🙂
Here I have route 3, which is a small route connecting 3 places: The main city from the left, another route to the south, and route 4 to the right.
After that, I have route 4 which connects to route 3 from the left. I think it’s pretty cool! Let me know what you all think of the colors — I wanted a more vibrant/tropical green but I didn’t want it to be too harsh.

  6. Whoa shit!!!! Just finished the second dungeon in Persona 5, but enough about that. I have stumbled upon the biggest decision I’ll have to make for this game ever!!! Who am I gonna date?!?!?!? time for some relation ship advice!! Who’s it gonna be? Ann Takamaki or Sadayo Kawkami? Either way I’m with a hottie, but one is certainly a bit more interesting than the other hahaha I never thought this day would come lol

  7. If you could add one hero to Overwatch, what would they be?

For me it’d be a Polish Offensive Hero in overwatch based on the Polish Hussars (look it up)

      • It’s fun, but it’s nothing revolutionary. For whatever reason, regular attacks are mapped to the Circle button, while shurikens and other things like that are mapped to the Square Button. It’s a good game.

I miss battling a lot. I wish I owned Powersave so I could just hack my pokemon!
