Pokémon Main Series Confirmed for Nintendo Switch

One of the more interesting tidbits to come from Nintendo’s E3 showing was this tidbit:

While many have speculated that the main Pokémon series would be making the jump from the Nintendo 3DS to the Switch, it has now been confirmed that we will be seeing games on the latter. It was later added that it could be “well over a year” until we see a title on Nintendo’s latest console however, hinting that it could be Gen VIII.

Are you HYPED to see a Switch Pokémon RPG?? I am! You may have seen on Twitter last night that I have one in my apartment now… although it is my roommate’s. Sewaddle salaries don’t cover such luxuries :'(

  1. I’m honestly shocked they showed nothing about USUM. I get that GF likes doing their own thing, but you’d think from all the backlash they would’ve wanted to show something to smooth things over.

  2. So, they teased the community with a 20 second teaser of USUM and then proceed to not cover it at all at E3. Talk about being disrespectful to the fan base

    • At least now it makes sense why they did their own thing. They couldn’t show it off in the Switch only direct, and they couldn’t announce it in the treehouse without showing off a demo.

    • Alternatively because they only wanted to show a 20 second teaser rn they decided not to lump that in with E3 where we already got 2 vague teasers and they didn’t want to put out more USUM info because there’s less to reveal

  3. Biggest e3 surprise is no usum lol.
I guess they didn’t show anything because there isn’t anything major too show.

    • Or that because we have already been to Alola therefore any big changes they showed at e3 would ruin potential suprises??? Or that you know the games have only been announced for a week

  4. Anyone else not surprised that USUM wasn’t shown? I certainly wanted it to be shown but like even if it’s not just a third version split in two that’s still less new content to cover and use to hype up than SuMo

  5. I think i’d rather have had the short trailer previewed at E3 rather than last week or so. GF or whoever, going to E3 with no US/UM news is abit weird. Makes me question a few things but hey-ho. Games still have me pumped regardless! I’m just grateful that we have games this year.

  6. Just a reminder that this was a Nintendo Spotlight not a Pokémon spot light. You shouldn’t be disappointed that USUM hasn’t been shown like a week after it was revealed

  7. Pokemon Anime Talk:
I was unable to watch the trailer until now. After watching it I found it peculiar how they showed Olivia, Wishiwashi, Lurantis, and Alola Marowak (w/ a crown possibly) in succesion. We already know that Olivia is the Kahuna of Akala island, and the way they showed the three Pokémon after would make me think they are the Totem Pokemon we are familiar with. However Salazzle is the Totem Pokemon for the fire trial and not Alola Marowak. If my assumption is true and Alola Marowak is the Totem Pokemon, maybe they are saving Salazzle for someone else. Maybe Ash will catch one. What is everyone’s thoughts on the new opening?

  8. I’ve come to terms with no Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon stuff or Yo-Kai Watch Psychic Spectors and I now am just feeling like I need another rebirth in my life (Not avatar just a change of heart) I’m going to remake my Fan Pokemon again (Remember I am not very good at keeping to things cause here’s how it goes idea that turns to hiatus then turmoil than dispatchment) so I will return later once I figure things out (probably about an hour to think it out)

  10. Matpat made a theory on fucking Fidget spinners….
Please stop recommending me this youtube

    • It was more about the Youtube ‘algorithim’ and how it leads to what you see on recommended and suggested, and he just used the fidget spinner videos as an example.
He even admitted it was too late to talk about them.
I found it very interesting and informative, especially if you’re looking to build a channel on YouTube.
But that’s just me, I’ve always found some enjoyment in his videos regardless, because of the science/culture/how he got his conclusion than the actual theories themselves. Tangential learning is fun 🙂

      • True true but I can’t help but be a little disheartened by it
Plus, it’s game theory, can’t he just make a new channel, culture theory or something? He’s made enough videos for it to qualify

        Reply
        • I will agree that it’s not so much game theory, but it’s his biggest channel so it’ll be easier to reach as much people as possible since he thought everyone should knows this. It’s smart business.
And it’s not so much culture more like youtube (then again you can argue memes and trends and whatnot are product of culture but whatever) and he doesn’t make culture videos besides youtube (that’s gaijin’s job 😉 )
