Pokémon GO Announces ‘Adventure Week’

A new event, dubbed Adventure Week, has been announced for the hit iOS/Android game Pokémon GO. It will run from May 18-25, so don’t miss it!

To help you stock up for your upcoming adventure, more items will be awarded from every PokéStop you visit, and Poké Balls will be 50% off in the in-game shop. Your Buddy Pokémon is also in the adventuring spirit and will find Candies four times as fast for the duration of the celebration. Whether you’re exploring your neighborhood or an exotic new location, make sure to watch for Rock-type Pokémon such as Omanyte, Kabuto, and their Evolutions. Keep an eye out—maybe you’ll even spot Aerodactyl!

In addition to the perks above, the event also rewards a cosmetic item: the Explorer’s Hat!

  1. Maybe I’ll start playing this game again someday when I become more active. Anyways, I’m even more convinced that a game announcement is imminent due to Masuda’s Twitter antics. Looking back at his history, the only times he has retweeted Nintendo have been for Pokémon-related tweets. As a result, this Nintendo Switch retweet could imply something big.

  8. Man I don’t give a flaming shite about Go no mo but I would love to see some Fossils, it’s a bloody outrage we didn’t get freaking Fossils for Sun and moon, they’re the staple of most of my teams (except RSE & BW)

    But on another note I hope in the next incarnation of Pokemon we have the option to choose ride Pokemon or at least reskin it to pick favorable means of transportation

    As for the whole Arms/Splatoon Direct, it makes sense. Both games are being aimed for the summer with ARMS coming out right before E3 if I remember right. It kinda needs to be a focus. As for Pokemon, lets be honest that we know that if games come out this year they’ll be Sinnoh Reamkes. Probably all of the Necro stuff with the TCG is simply a means to helping build up the next movie as it’ll probably have it as the main villain.

  35. The first of my regional forms (I’ll post more later), Shellos and Gastrodon. Because of not living near the sea for many years Shellos have transformed into Ground types.

    Slavian Shellos
    Ground
    They love being underground with miners. Because of It’s slimy body, if a miner is trapped underground it can squeeze through spaces between rocks and bring help.

    Slavian Gastrodon
    Ground/Rock
    After evolving, they can help miners even more. They can carry tools on their backs and eat useless rocks that miners dig out. Gastrodon are very respected pokemon due to the many lives of miners they saved.

    Based on miners in the Silesia Province in Poland. They have their own culture, suits for special occasions and are respected in the community.

    • At least you were given the opportunity. In high school, we had to always do the finals (even if it just meant getting the 70% to make sure we passed).
      In college though it changed (for the better); I’ve had like 4 classes (out of 9?) where I’ve had a high enough grade that I don’t have to take the final. It’s great

    Don’t be fooled by their cuteness, they are very deadly and could burn you to ashes in a minute. They swim in lava and attack at night, that’s why they almost cannot see in the day.

    They have killed many people in the past and that’s why now they have some sort of a bloodlust. They kill at night and rest in lava during the day.

    In the Slavy region Croagunk have eaten a Bug/Psychic pokemon species to extinction. For the same reason Slavian Croagunk have psychic powers themselves as well as hallucinogenic venom.

    Poison/Psychic
    The venom on their spikes can cause hallucinations that can make any pokemon mad, But they only use it to defend themselves from predators. They are well known for their intelligence.

    Comibooks are friendly and are often given to children as their first pokemon. Even with the little power they have they will always use it to protect it’s owner.

    The Hero Pokemon
    When you give Comibook some melted plastic it creates a new body for itself that it can use to protect it’s friends. They can fly using their magic and punch using their plastic fists of justice
    Based on Comic Books, superheros (mainly Superman) and Super Hero Figurines
    (The name tag ability changes the letter on Superine’s chest)

    Gamesole
    Electric
    The Video Game Pokemon
    Gamesoles aren’t very friendly pokemon. But if they finally are friends with you, you’ll have a great time. They are also very useful in battle.

    Evolves when you give it Metal Plates (also an item) into:

    Arcadoom
    Dark/Electric
    The Arcade Machine Pokemon
    When Gamesole evolve, they are more powerful and power makes them griddy and they use their power to attack helpless little pokemon just for fun. Only a great trainer can stop their Arcadoom from harming others, and if they manage to, they once again have a good friend.
    Based on Gameboys and Arcade Machines
    (The name tag ability changes the neon letters on Arcadoom’s sides)

    • I think all the tiles in this particular map are of my own creation or modified from reference images or tile rips from tsr. Though the original tileset itself is a somewhat modified version of one I found on deviantart.

        • -I don’t like the tileset; it looks very plain to me.
          -I don’t like that the gym is symmetric, unless it’s meant to be like that (but I wouldn’t see why).
          -I have a personal bias against using Gen 5 tilesets & sprites — I think they’re harder to work with and generally look worse than Gen 4 and 3. —What program are you using for the mapping?
          -Did you make the leader yourself? They actually look good. I think the other trainer classes used look out of place.
          -I don’t know how roulette tables work, so I can’t figure out the puzzle. Not to mention there’s more than just roulette tables at casinos.

          Sorry if that’s blunt, but I wasn’t going to comment at all before because it’s mainly negatives.

            Yes, using other sprites as a base, and the trainers are Rich Boys and Ladies.
            It’s more of a maze where you don’t know which path is correct and you can’t just go back, I should really redesign the puzzle to make it more interesting.

  74. Wow, so about that ARMS direct. . . that’s the last thing I expected. A Pokemon direct? Maybe. A general direct? Highly unlikely but still possible. An ARMS direct sandwiched inbetween an ARMS focused direct and E3? Not a chance, at least that’s what I would’ve thought. Should be pretty cool though, directs are always fun (this is the first stage of Nintendo directs. The last stage is dissapointment).

    • So its basically 40 dollars for 9 characters, or about 4.50 each. Still a better deal then Fire Emblems Echoes dlc! Here’s hoping that shit game fails like it has in Japan.

        • Yeah, but this is kinda unforgivable levels of bad. two packs that solely exist for grinding(where previous ones only needed one), ten DLC classes that require an absurd amount of grinding, four story maps taht are meant to tell the back story to things taht are briefly mentioned that nobody cared about that give crap items and reuse existing maps in the game, and the only pack worth anything is pack 5 that gives 2 maps, which gives four characters that 99% of western fans will have no idea who they are because their the OC’s from the fire emblem card game, and most players wouldn’t use anyways.

          At least with the previous one’s you could argue that the DLC was priced fair for what you were buying, and they didn’t push it nearly as hard as they have been.

    I am fond of Virtual Boy Advanced and Project64 but i don’t know about DS, i hear good things about DeSmuME but i had it on my other laptop which is basically reduced to a stationary youtube and gameboy emulator machine

    i’ve had this super custom built computer for nearly a year but i’ve hardly gamed on it outside warcraft and minecraft, nothing big or hardcore and I feel guilty that its not chock full of over the top games, i barely use steam and i’m a console and handheld gamer, and i feel myself pussyfooting it when it comes to downloading nearly anything out of fear of potentially infecting it with viruses and other harmful stuff

    • I think Rowlet has a great design, but I love Litten just a bit more. I will say that Decidueye is probably more of my favorite than Incineroar. I always do that. I always pick the Pokemon that I like their final form second best and then end up kind of wishing I had used another. Then I have a dilemma tho as the first Pokemon I use of each Pokemon has a special place in my heart and I feel like I need to decide between the two…..*sigh*…..What’s a guy to do….? lol

    Literally eversince I found about Roms Ive always just wanted to Play pokemon fan games (or drayano hacks). I always think I have it, but I am ALWAYS wrong.

    I finally got an android, but nooo games arent available on mobile.
    Finally gott my own laptop. NOPE Chromebooks dont allow many things.

      • when i was young i used to have hundreds of these things
        embarrassingly I heard from my parents how’d i’d throw fits to get them every time i saw them…..

        i’d give anything to go back in time and buy them or at the very least figure out what happened with my collection i know at least a few are buried in the sand or the ocean, and oddly i actually dug up an Exans in my backyard……

        now my only hope of finding these is scouring thrift stores or swap meets or just buying them online….
        (i had a Poliwrath that i hide inside a bush by my bus stop and surprisingly it was still there….)

  106. Started playing Persona 5. Only about an hour in and I can tell this is gonna be a great game. My main issue right now isn’t the game itself, but the fact that for some reason I can’t get the screen scaling right for it. I’ve never had a problem playing games at the scale I was at (in recent times) but for some reason P5 cuts the edges off . I’ve tried going into my tv settings, but the only options I have (and usually use anyway) don’t help. I also tried going into the PS4 settings to see if I could fix it there and nothing seems to change…….I gotta figure this out…..I haven’t had a problem with many of my recent games or watching anything on my tv before so I’m not quite sure what could be causing the problem

    • Love to hear your thoughts on the game as you go through it. Its a pretty great game. Though that does suck with the screen issues. At the very least its not a very big deal with the game.

    They are experts at working in Pokemon Centers, some are better at helping pokemon that Nurse Joys themselfs. They can heal almost every injury in seconds.

I need to get something off my chest……I’ve seen a lot of speculation about what the next game is and what system it’ll be on across the internet and one thing has stuck out to me as the most annoying complaint ever. I’ve seen (at least a few) people saying that Pokemon shouldn’t go to the Switch simply because they don’t have the Switch and don’t want to spend the money on it or can’t. To me that seems like the dumbest excuse to keep the franchise from progressing I’ve seen in a long time. New games come out for new systems all the time…..I find it frustrating to see people acting like GF should only make games for the system THEY have and are only allowed to move on to the next when said people are ready to move on. That’s not how it works and it has never worked that way. People had to buy a 3DS if they wanted to play XY, people had to buy a DS if they wanted to play DP/BW, people had to buy a GA to play RS. At every point the purchasing of a new system was required. People don’t HAVE to buy anything, but just because some people want to live in the present should stop others from being able to move onto the future…..*sigh* sorry…. This was my little rant. Just had to get it off my chest. Ya’ll can ignore me if you want hahaha

    They are dangerous predators, but they can be great pets. They can use their rock powers in battle to use strong attacks. If you want to catch one you should first find a big rock the Xnyllynx could sleep

    I want to play Black again and the damn Emulator isn’t working so I’m deleting my spare Black I used for my first Ground mono
    Now I cheated on this copy plenty so the burden of deleting it and the vast cache of Pokeballs gonna hard unless someone speaks in the next 20 seconds if they want me to try and catch anything with any ball for the luxury
    But I still had a movie Keldeo and some garbage legends I don’t care for

    This also gave me a level 100 Cherish Ball Marowak for shiny hunting,
