A new Nintendo Direct has been announced for April 12 (3PM PT/6PM ET) with new information about Nintendo Switch and 3DS games. The main focus will be on Arms and Splatoon 2, but we will probably hear about other games as well.

How does that prevent hype tho? If it’s on during an exam or revision you could easily just avoid news about it and then search up the Nintendo YouTube or some shizz and get the exact same result as the peeps who’ll be eagle eying all media until the thing literally pops up

Interesting that they’d bring the 3DS into this if it’s going to be mostly Arms and Splatoon 2 focused. I imagine they’ve got some smaller games to show off for the 3DS and then we’ll get release dates for Arms and Splat 2

To anyone getting their hopes up for a Pokemon announcement out of this direct: Don’t!! It has been a while since Pokemon has had any major announcements out of a regular direct. If something was in there they would have teased it. In all likelihood we’ll get a Pokemon announcement in a separate announcement made by TPCI

Im crossing my fingers we DONT get a Pokemon Stars announcement. Sun&Moon were ok, but if we never got Kalos 2.0, I dont see how we can justify an Alola 2.0 less than a year later, and on the Switch no less

SuMo already has more closure than BW or XY ever did. I would rather us backtrack and give them remakes/sequels
I feel like BW had the perfect amount of closure though..
storywise BW actually was pretty good with giving us closure – i was just really peeved that they kept teasing us about that “final third dragon” and they never followed through.

They could justify Alola 2.0 because it’s a better made game and they likely didn’t do Kalos 2.0 because they would have to change everything about it, being the horrible region that it is

They’ll kill it. At this point it’s abundantly clear they’re trying to consolidate their systems and the Switch is the first step.

Ehh, I’d sooner believe that Nintendo would go 3rd party then dropping the 3DS as of this moment. By their own word they really can’t drop it right now, and its fairly unlikely that the Switch could ever fully carry both branches of Nintendo’s markets.
I think they’ll wait till the switch has more to offer while slowly developing less games for the 3DS
That’s likely, but no matter what it won’t change the fact that the Switch will always have a high price for entry, which the handheld market doesn’t tolerate and for better or worse games made for the switch will always be designed for the home console market first, hence why its a home console first and a portable second. You really can’t have a game designed for both markets, or at least any attempt to do so would kinda naturally gravitate to one side with what would feel like some tacked on features.
After the episode 22 teaser are we are sure that Ash won’t catch Sandygast?

I like the uniqueness, but it felt pointless almost. Like they didn’t know what to do with the plot so they made team skull steal a pokemon and then po town just kind of sits there for the rest of the game
