Hello everyone! We’re bringing you the results of the Pokémon Mascot Showdown! There were a lot of votes, and it was a very close call, but we have a winner.
It’s Giratina, our favorite mascot from Generation 4! It won with 19% of all the votes! In celebration of Giratina, our supreme overlord, winning we’ve updated the site theme to something a little more fitting of everyone’s favorite legendary Ghost-type Pokémon!

nno but this is rad. I always thought Deoxys had the best legendary battle theme. Tied maybe with Ho-Oh and Xerneas/Yveltal
I love Dialga and Palkia’s too. It feels…divine :3 Ho-oH’s is awesome though. I just like all the legendary ones generally.

too bad that the rest of the OST sucksI feels muted rather than dynamic. It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t say it’s improved over the RSE soundtrack :/
So far the BotW datamine has revealed that the gameplay demos and footage shown by Nintendo contained only 10% of the enemies, armor and weapons available. Guys, this game is freakin huge, unreal stuff.

Well Ash has Rockruff now, 100% confirmed in today’s episode. The same Rockruff that hung around Kukui’s, but it was never his it was a wild one that Kukui simply gave food. Was a neat episode, and Ash mentioned his Hawlucha at the end which gives me some hope we’ll get to see some of his older mons in future episodes (Greninja???)

Read my comment below about BotW. Datamines revealed Nintendo only covered about 5-10% of the games’s content in the demos and other footage. Absolute massive game, you’ll enjoy it so much I reckon

Really not too sure, personally I hope Midday but it could very well be Midnight because he’s had sinister-ish Pokemon in the past, look at Krookodile and Scraggy. Judging by Ash’s personality this time around, Midnight would be a good fit tbh.
Either way. my prediction is shaping up nicely. I expected him to catch Rowlet, Rockruff, Passimian and Alolan Sandshrew (because Lillie has Vulpix) so I’m getting warmer

He’s 100% getting it, the latest Pokescans and newly revealed episode titles sort of hinted at it. Same sort of storyline as his Krookodile, following him around the region, annoying the shit out of him before he actually catches it. It would be even better if it evolves into Torracat before he gets it

Yeah the intro also gives it away and he already bonded with it in episode 7 I think, when he saved it from a wild Persian.

Nice 🙂 I could see him getting a whimpod. Like it’s scared of everything, but he trains it and shows it some care so that it’s confident. Thing is it’s Guzma’s main though, so idk if they’ll overlap mons.

I thought araquanid was a bit too “creepy” for him, so I could see it being a Jessie pokemon perhaps. I think his Rowlet will fully evolve. It’s no secret Decidueye is the most popular starter this gen, and since he got Greninja, I bet he’ll get Deci.
Araquanid would be too creepy, but if it stays a Dewpider i dont see why not? Would be nice to see him catching more Bug types tbh

No new games matter to me right now they all are either switch, a shooter, or nothing interesting to me
So with all the switch previews coming out, it seems like we are getting some solid facts about it. The first one seeming to be that its comparable to the XB1 in power, which is both good and bad depending on your perspective. The other being that it doesn’t seem to handle screen glares well when used on the go making it almost impossible to play outside unless its fairly dark out already.
whats ur take on the Cartridges only handling 16 gb
Ehh, that’s understandable. Cartridges might have the potential to be both bigger and faster the blu-ray, but their not cheap to make by any means. 16 gb will be fine for most games, and even then I think they’ve stated that they have a 32 gb model in production as well. And even then they can always make an even bigger one if the game calls for it. That, and I see it as incentive to try to make games have a more efficient file size, which has been an issue with current gen consoles.
so lets say like skyrim is 20gb on other consoles if the switch can only handle 16gb rn could that mean less textures?
I don’t know actually. I’m not familiar enough with coding to know what the effect would actually be. I would say that’s certainly a possibility, but again it could be something along the lines of compressing the code to make it fit and it’ll run fine. Heck it could be something as small as removing certain objects from the game(flowers, grass, ect) that didn’t serve a purpose other then just making the game look a little more alive. Really we’ll have to wait and see.
I hate playing games outside. The issue for me would be sitting near a window when it’s sunny (which it rarely is here).
Same here. I have no plans of ever taking the switch outside, and I can’t imagine a lot of people actually doing so given its short battery life and the general fear that it’ll break easily. But its just one more thing to know really.
Has anyone noticed that Murkrow are really hard to catch in GO? It’s annoying cause they’re consistently near me and I want to get working on the dark medal, but don’t want to waste a million pokeballs ://

I’ve caught quite a few, but I have to keep wasting great and ultra balls.
Lol i used regular poke balls. They were fairly easy to catch, i’m still fed up about missing out on this Sudowoodo. It fled the battle and then disappeared from the map ffs, should’ve used a Razz berry

I’ve had Noctowl, Crobat and Xatu spawn on me as well. Gen 2 hasn’t been too bad for me so far. Gen 1 had terrible spawns for me.

I have the most disappointing Go Story I missed a Rhydon cause my mom wouldn’t give a second to concentrate on throwing lost 11 balls and a Rhydon when i was at lvl.4 in it!

Ledyba, Spinarak, Sentret, Natu
Around my house I get literally nothing.
But at work, I get a bunch of Swinub, Murkrow and Natu. (Not counting the omnipresent Sentret). Saw Chinchou and Skarmory on the nearby list earlier but I couldn’t leave work to hunt them down 🙁
Yeah one I’m still hunting from only sightings is a freakin’ Geodude!
And I have the occasional Teddiursa that spawns
I still have plenty of Gen 1 left to get as well. Pokedex only at 109 in total (90 Kanto, 19 Johto). I stopped playing for a few months.
But I am one more Pinap berried Wooper away from getting a Quagsire….So I got that going for me.
