Hello everyone! We’re bringing you the results of the Pokémon Mascot Showdown! There were a lot of votes, and it was a very close call, but we have a winner.
It’s Giratina, our favorite mascot from Generation 4! It won with 19% of all the votes! In celebration of Giratina, our supreme overlord, winning we’ve updated the site theme to something a little more fitting of everyone’s favorite legendary Ghost-type Pokémon!

If you don’t factor in Sinnoh evolutions, Johto introduced 21 pokemon that don’t evolve and were mostly horrible until Gen 4. *cough* worst generation of pokemon *cough*
I have to agree most Johto pokemon were pretty basic
I’ve just noticed it now that I’m playing GO again. I’m like, “woah, Murkrow! Too bad I can’t evolve it yet..”
Johto lacked any memorable mons, though I’ll say Ampharos, Kingdra, and Tyranitar were cool though
Yeah, there are definitely some cool ones (mareep line, phanpy, tyranitar, mantine, scizor, steelix, houndoom, heracross, eeveelutions, slowking, Noctowl) but it’s meh to me if you don’t count in cross gens
Still a relatively fun region to explore

HeartGold was pretty great, and I’m willing to do a Crystal Nuzlocke sometime

Johto to me brought me some of the greatest
Politoed, Gligar, Porygon2, Sneasel, Aipom, Feraligatr, Furret, Noctowl, Eeveelutions, Tyranitar, Murkrow, Houndoom, Steelix, and Scisor I may be missing some though
Gen 2 is by far the worst generation to date.
But it did bring me two of my favourite in Scizor and Tyranitar, so can’t hate it on it as much as I want to.
Still rubbish though, from the starters, to pokemon distribution and the seriously lackluster region. It would have been fine if the franchise’s ended after Johto, but since it didn’t, Johto is shit.

I just realized how lacking the DP dex was. For Flying, Electric, Fire, Dragon, and Grass, there was not even that many at all. Like for Flying, the only real good ones were Staraptor and Honchkrow, but that was it. And for Electric, you really had Luxray and Raichu.
Despite it being a great region, some of the types lacked a lot of Pokemon, and in some cases any good ones.
DP isn’t all that good if you take out the cross gen evos, imo. It’s horrible for fire types.
And because of the lacking in fire types, Flint’s team was mostly non-fire types, even though he’s a Fire type E4
That’s why I only play Platinum, which has a way better dex 😛

Since there was only two fire lines and a fire E4 (3 of his members were non fire)
Oh yeah Fire suffered the worst.
In the game you had two fire lines a Starter and the sh*ttiest Fire type in games that to me isn’t worth getting its Evo

Such a stupid concept. Lets introduce more cross gen evos… but not let them available in the game. DP is an awful game
Yeah, like they introduced about 20-30 evolutions for old Pokemon, but they were almost non-existent in DP. It totally defeats the purpose of even having them in Gen 4 altogether..
Oh yeah, DP were good games but the dex is just awful.
It was overrun Normal, Bug, and Poison type, which most of them were considerable mediocre.
Another reason why they should include Platinum-elements in the inevitable DP remakes. Platinum dex was good.
Speaking of Johto, I always felt so bad for Houndour in Gen 2. You couldn’t even access a single one until Kanto, with Houndour being found at Route 7 at night. It was just probably forgotten by people who played through those games, and they weren’t even used at all on most teams. It’s a great Pokemon, but still it got the unfortunate end of the bargain in Gen 2.
Fortunately, you could find it in the Safari Zone in HGSS though.
Don’t forget about Slugma.
People (me included) didn’t even know that Slugma was a Gen II Pokémon because of how out of the way it was.
In gen 4 you could get a slugma, wooper or mareep in Violet City via Primo
I didn’t realize that Slugma received it too, its a shame for it as well. They could’ve put it in Mt. Mortar or something, at the very least..
Yea that really sucks. My friend got lucky and my brother traded him one before he beat the game. But I still think it was just a stupid move.

Actually, Girafarig was available in Johto in both GS and HGSS, on Route 43 (which is before the Lake of Rage). I’ve actually ran into it before in my previous HG run.

An even more idiotic move towards Johto Pokemon:
I believe with each new region the gym leaders and E4’s ace should be a new pokemon
However in Johto, Faulkner Bugsy Morty Chuck ace were all kanto pokemon. Heck these 4 didnt even USE Johto pokemon. That’s so annoying.

Bugsy= Ledian/Ariados
Morty= Misdreavus
Chuck= Heracross/Hitmontop

For end game facilities like the BAttle Tower Remixes and the Frontier, NPC’s use sub-legendaries like Zapdos, Colbalion etc. Do you guys think in the region after Alola they will use the Tapus/UBs? Tapus/UBs seem to be pretty special to Alola, but they usually use them no matter what. Thoughts?
I’m not sure, UBs I can see being used by people, but as for the Guardian Deities, not so much. I guess its just because it would be weird seeing someone controlling the protectors of Alola (even though we are able to catch them in SM).

most reviewers do not pay for the stuff that they review, even Jimmy Whetzel who doesnt even review games (I mean he has once or twice) has had nintendo send him free shit all the time
Ehh kinda. You might get free stuff, but at the same time your expected to rush through games, never able to really enjoy them and often times have to limit yourself to about 10 hours in a game before you have to base your review on it, hence why reviews rarely ever talk about endings in games. Also due to that its very common that reviews become super burned out on games since they don’t have the time to play them, or a desire to play them really. Kinda like the Let’s play effect.

Idk either but I’m assuming that is what happens when a YouTuber keeps making lots of let’s play about a game, they’ll eventually loose the desire to play it and leave the let’s play series about that game unfinished
Kind of. Its basically the issue that once you start playing games for a career(let’s play’s, streamers, ect), you kinda feel a lot more fatigue when playing games and lose the desire to play them on your own time. Kind of like if you had to play games for 8 hours straight for footage, and not have much of a desire to play more games after that. Its kind of a first world problem, but it is a noted issue among people. Generally the only way this is well avoided is if you can kind of combine the two. Like using an LP file as your main game in pokemon so you don’t play the game twice or the sort.

The average rate is something around $8/1K views, more subscribers lead to a better rate and it also depends on the amount of people using an adblocker and such. But it provides a nice estimate for a high profile channel such as Gamexplain.
It’s not calculated by the individuals that run the account. YouTube/Google have a system that determines a certain amount per view. You then have a revenue page on your channel to see how much you’ve made

Yeah, there’s a Mii Maker in settings. As far as what games even use them anymore, I have no idea, but I do know they can be put in different positions with different facial expressions and used as profile icons instead of the nintendo character shots.

Yep but he’s pretty hidden only way to get is to catch random Pokémon and it will just say “Oh” instead of gotcha then it will be a ditto (I have 3 Ditto two of which hid as Sentret’s one as a Zubat)

Thanks that line is based on a Flamingo and actually Flindace’s name come from the dance called Indlamu (A south african dance of the Zulu tribe), and Jetingce is based on the dance the Jitterbug which uses acrobatic movements making it perfect

Mine has to be the PMD 2: Primal Dialga remix done by PokeRemixStudio. It was one of the first Pokemon remixes I ever really liked, and the melody is beautiful but is creating a tone of urgency. Another reason why I like it so much was I listened to it before I was about to compete in finals for a state championship to pump me up. In the end, I won barely.
