IMPORTANT Global Link Warning for Friendly Competitions

It has been confirmed by The Pokémon Company that a glitch is currently affecting Friendly Competitions for Pokémon Sun & Moon. Players who scan QR codes for competitions which have not yet begun are sometimes being locked out of competing in them or losing their spot in the tournament.

Right now it is recommended to not scan QR codes unless a Friendly Competition has officially started.

We’ll post more as it comes, Pokémon is looking into the issue!

      • Not really. While its pretty broken on the pokemon that have it; in concept its not that broken. Its an ability that would ideally only work well with Pokemon with a wide variety of move pools. But yeah, the current pokemon that have it are pretty broken.

  24. Looking back at Black, I will say the graphics are pretty beautiful. It’s amazing, when compared to Gen 4, how detailed everything is in Gen 5, like Route 1 with the flower petals flowing in the wind.

    • I think thats completely different for me. Gen 5 had nice aesthetics at the time, but everything now looks so trash. I think gen 4 aged better than gen 5. Have you seen gen 5 PC box. Its so cluttered

    • Honestly everytime I go back to gen 5 I think, my god this game is beautiful, everything about it is great, from the full animation of the sprites to the interface and the environments.

  25. So I just finished watching Stranger Things. Holy CRAP. WHAT? I still refuse to believe that a show of this quality can exist. I feel like a whole new window of artistic potential opened up out of nowhere. Obviously, if you don’t have Netflix, this is a sole reason to do so. All of those other shows and movies are cool too, but Stranger Things is really something else.

        • Ah thats always nice. A refresher. Due to the small number of pokemon each gym leader has, I recommend using the same number of pokemon the gym leaders do. It’s always fun to do it, and more like the anime

    It is a large purple black rotund beetle like Pokemon with powerful forearm and legs, they have humanoid hands and feet (but with claws) and impressive horns, but their most notable feature is they constantly are hoisting a massive circular Boulder on their backs

    Cross between a Dung Beetle and Atlas Beetles (and Atlas)

          • That is a lame excuse for bad writing because she is such an interesting character up to Same Old World. Same Old World should’ve started an arc like Peridot where she spent time with each gem and- and wtf like, Connie literally addressed that Lapis tried to drown her and she’s just like “oh.. yeah lol”

            Alone at Sea hinted that she may have stockholm syndrome with Jasper but she just punches her off the boat and Jasper later gets corrupted. That’s it.

            Lapis never has to face the consequences of her actions, she loses all personality and interesting traits, and only exists to be shipped with Peridot.

  47. Honestly the Team Plasma from BW are one of the most horrible teams ever. What I mean is not that they suck or anything, but they are very deceptive. Utilizing the belief that they are “freeing” Pokemon for the “benefit of all” allows them to do anything they want, creating chaos and criminal activities. Like for kicking Munna and kidnapping the kid’s Pokemon on Route 3, they can use their agenda of liberating Pokemon to halt most those who oppose them. Deep down, some of these grunts are probably crooks who joined Team Plasma.

    GF, you guys made one of the best Pokemon villains ever

      • I love the Chandelure line. I always liked Vanillite, the evos took time though. It’s taken me a while to like Trubbish, like until Alolan Grimer tbh.

      • People don’t give the game (and by consequence, the story) a chance because of the pokemon designs. It’s a game, shouldn’t the story matter? Use the mons you like and forget about the one’s you don’t. It’s simple. I played B/W at least 4 times within a year of the Jap release b/c of how much I loved them!

        • It has just been cool to make fun of Pokémon designs since Gen 3 or so. That’s what you get when your first game is a giant fad and the hype for it fades even if the games are actually improving with each iteration.

          It’s was childhood for a lot of people and so people who didn’t keep up with the series are pre-disposed to hate the newer games. The ice cream and the trash bag Pokémon argument is just an excuse to rip on it

        • I don’t like a lot of the BW mons honestly, but it was just personal preference. The story was pretty interesting; more interesting than ORAS or XY, I thought.

          And it was a gutsy move putting only new pokemon in the first part of the game. I like a handful of them: Volcarona, Scolipede, Whimsicott, Braviary, Mienshao, Liepard, Haxorus (except the color), Chandelure, Seismitoad, Zebstrika, and even Swoobat (I think it’s cute).

  49. Is HP Fire worth it on Alolan Ninetales? Also what Ball for it? I’m thinking of trying to breed it shiny, I will probably choose Dream as I already have Moon Rockruff. Although I’m still undecidueyeded on if I should use A-Ninetales or A-Raichu. I hate being so undecidueyesive, or do I? I just don’t know.

    • I don’t think HP fire is good on Alola nine tales, there are better options for it, and I don’t think you can get aLola nine tales in a Dream ball, so I would try Love Ball

          • I have, I’m trying to breed the perfect HP Fire spread now. I will need to get a foreign HP Fire Field ‘mon to Masuda Method it with but I think I can do it. The only issue I have with using it is I might find Snow Warning annoying in-game and it only covers Fighting outside of what my team does already, whereas A-Raichu covers Fighting and Poison. I’d probably breed that shiny and in a Fast or Dream Ball.

  65. Two days ago I started going through Sun with only a Dunsparce and my starter (a Litten) as backup. I sent the Dunsparce egg over from Moon so it’d hatch with me as the OT. It’s a female named “Ree”. Her parents were bred from my competitive Dunsparce, who sadly didn’t inherit the Move Tutor moves.

    About to start Mallow’s trial, and she’s only fainted once so far, at Hala’s grand trial.

    After an hour of training my Pokemon to level 18-19, I finally managed to beat Lenora. And her Watchog is an absolute nightmare with a 140 Retaliate + Hyponsis… I mean I’m happy for the battle being hard, but still.
