  1. Is there some sort of training grounds I missed in Sun/Moon? I finally was able to start playing the game after my finals have ended this weekend and the level jump for the E4 is insane. Never had to use so many revives in my whole life.

    • I know I completely missed the desert area on my playthough, but I doubt that’ll help much now.
Your best bet is to probably just grind the E4. Buy a bunch of Strange Souvenirs b/c you can sell them w/o losing money. That’s what I did, and I happened to beat the E4 while I was still grinding.

      • I gave up since I didn’t want to spend too much time on beating the game and seeing the story and I just transfered some of my old competitive mons, which are levelled between 60-80.

    • Stats for nerds:

-‘First’ Team actually refers to my first game with that starter, not that game. My Charizard, Primarina and Blaziken teams are the true ‘first teams’ there.

-Surprisingly little Fairies and Poisons, because I push myself to pick other Pokémon I won’t usually use. This happened with my Emboar team to a heavy extent and I loved it.

-Very little repeats of Pokémon, and I’ve used all the Eeveelutions in ‘First’ Teams – both on purpose

    • On of the few that I remember, My first Emerald Team

Blaziken, Gardevoir, Aggron, Flygon, Cacturn, Walrein.

Over the years I’ve used various combinations when doing Emerald run throughs a but Gardevoir has been a mainstay in all teams.

My recent Omega Ruby playthrough was Blaziken, Gardevoir, Breloom, Muk, Walrein, Flygon.

XY: Greninja, Gardevoir, Charizard Pangoro (cant remember last two)

Seriously I’m bad at remembering what Pokémon I’ve using during playthroughs..

  2. So what’s everyone’s favourite character from like, anything, ever? It’s either Jeanne from Bayonetta or Symmetra/Satya Vaswani from overwatch for me

  3. Hey!!! I’ve got a question:

How do you get Morimoto to speak to you when trying to show him your VC Pokémon? He only says that he’s battled for today, and to come back tomorrow.
I know he mentions something about Mankey, and when trying to show him one, it didn’t trigger the event.

  4. I think we can all agree that a lot of the dex entries in SM are pretty damn dark, especially Metapod’s and Bewears.
But Mankey and Primeape’s…. That’s an entirely new level of some deep, dark stuff.

  5. Does it make anyone else angry that serebii keeps reviewing past gen Pokémon instead of new ones for their “pokemon of the week?” Just me? -_-

      • But we all know it’s decidueye. I mean none of them are THAT good, but there are like 50 other mons that do incineroars job better..

        • isn’t deci like trash though? Im pretty sure Primarina is the best one of the three, even if tapu fini is the better of its type, primarina is still the best starter competitively is it not?

          Reply
          • ok??? im not trying to argue that its good, it is good, I just don’t see how you guys don’t see it as such. But everyone thinks differently I guess

          • We’re just saying it’s pointless cause it has a move to do all the things its ability already does

          • look we’re never going to see this the same way, I get that moving on. (the ability still gives it things that those other moves cant do, and id take a water echoed voice over hydro pump any day for obvious reasons… that apparently are not all the obvious)

          • It’s that it gets stronger each turn it’s used, which is good with a choice item.
The problem is that it isn’t immediately strong, and that first turn can easily spell death to a primarina if it doesn’t kill.

          • Yeah, that’s why I’m confused. I only see it really applicable in doubles if you’re running two pokemon with echoed voice

          • Echoed voice does more damage each turn it is used, like fury cutter. It ends a 200 BP which is really strong. Unfortunately, prim will likely be dead before actually hitting the amount of times needed to do over 80

          • Sorry, I get how it works, I just meant I’m more confused how it’s a viable option. Maybe substitute? I figured it’d be an easy switch in once you figure what it’s doing..

          • honestly why bother, you both have made it clear how you feel and I’m not trying to convince you. But its not a strategy that I’m talking about in this instance its the fact that I 100% would prefer a water echoed voice over a hydro pump. Yes Hydro pump is strong but its accuracy and limited number of uses leave it kind of lacklustre in my eyes. Echoed voice, when up against walls that do nothing but heal is very effective because once you spam it enough times it reaches its max power and can take down said wall.

But like, you don’t have to agree with me, the things I do work for me but others rag on how I battle all the time, I’m used to it, but just because I do things differently and unconventionally doesn’t make them wrong, its not like I lose all that often, if I was losing more maybe I would stop but I’m content.

          • I don’t think it’s trash, but it has a pretty decent movepool and a better Ha than prima (who has the most irrelevant HA in existence)

          • Essentially Aria does the same thing as a water type hyper voice, even counting as a sound based move

          • outside of the box is where you will find your answers, aka my entire battle style is unconventional and you know what, it works

          • How? Liquid hyper voice has no advantage over sparkling aria or whatever. What happens when your ability is cancelled or mummied? Back to a normal type move

          • I just think it’s useless given primas current movepool… Others agree. They should’ve just given it something better

          • I disagree completely but then again, most people who battle online all use the same cookie cutter strategies so I’m not really surprised

          • It only has about two applications given its current usage. So that’s echoed voice and hyper voice. If that works for you, good on you, but that’s an extremely limited movepool to draw from for an entire ability to be based on. I’m just not sure why you would run water type echoed voice when you could do hydro pump or surf right off the bat

          • Nope, Deci isn’t trash
Deci and Prim are the most usable two, with Prim edging out Deci by a small margin

        • Incineroar is absolutely trash

Admittedly Prim is the best competitively… but Deci isn’t that far behind… also IF THEY JUST GAVE THE DAMN THING 20 MORE POINTS IN DEFENSE INSTEAD OF SPECIAL ATTACK AND LEECH SEED IT WOULD BE AN OU PICK

          Reply
          • Yeah, I guess prima ain’t bad. But like I said, the starters this gen, at least in their current state, are mediocre at best. Now imagine mega decidueye with a huge speed boost. That would be great

          • Oh, that isn’t even needed really. Just more physical bulk + two or three move tutor moves. But know what’s funny? The starters of this gen aren’t even that bad compared to others

          • Cause
            1. Ru, PU, Whatever Blastoise was
            2. PU, RU, UU
            4. PU, UU , UU
            5. PU (Not counting contrary, but if so, OU), RU, PU

        • But still, they even offered the prospect.
Incineroar’s typing is amazing, and would have been light years better if it were a sweeper

  6. I had no idea that the Fierce Deity Mask made the end of the game so easy! Maybe it wasn’t required? Either way, I have 100% completed Majora’s Mask 3D! I consider this to be a huge achievement for myself, as I’ve been putting this game off for MANY years (probably about 7). I considered that, with Breath of the Wild on the way, it was time to fill in the final gap of my 3D Zelda experience. I still have to do a bit more work in Twilight Princess (and eventually I’ll 100% Ocarina of Time 3D once again), but I’m now more than ready for what comes next!
