Over 5,000 Players Banned for Hacking Pokémon

According to Serebii.net, The Pokémon Company has announced that 5,954 Pokémon Sun & Moon players have been banned for “altered save data”. Although normally nothing to worry about for people who do not try to hack their games, there are a number of legitimately obtained Pokémon/move combinations that can erroneously trigger the system. No cases of false positives ending in a complete system ban have been reported, but it is something to keep an eye out for.

Players will know that they have been banned if the error code 090-0212 appears when they try to connect to online functions. It prohibits participation in Rating Battles, competitions, and Global Missions, as well as use of Game Sync.

Hopefully this will not cause any issues for players bringing in many new Pokémon and movesets from older games via Bank.

    “Apparently from what I’ve heard, Game Freak hasn’t lifted the lock on certain things despite bank update being available for Sun and Moon. I tried trading my event Xerneas that I redeemed on AS earlier and for whatever reason, it was blocked from trading.
    You’re not the only one with this problem; hopefully Game freak fixes this real soon.”

    • Ugh, I’m not feeling that either. I really hate when I get like this. Occasionally I get really bored and no matter what I play I just can’t get into it. :/

    • Real friends don’t let friends play medicore fire emblem games. Just play FE 12, hardest difficulty, no resets. if you can make it through even half the game without reaching a no win situation you’ll have cred for life.

        • Emulate it. It was never released state side and the English patch is easy enough to find. Plus its actually pretty good, barring Kris who’s kinda lame compared to Robbin and Corrin to a lesser degree. Their also kinda broken units as well, but that’s the nature of all My units. It’s also one of the few fire emblem stories that is actually pretty good, all be it rather sad.

          • Hmm, I’ll consider it, since I’ve been pretty bored lately. The only real issue is that my laptop doesn’t run very well anymore and I’m not going to risk an emulator on my family desktop, so idk. Maybe I’ll see if my laptop can run it, who knows?

          • It probably can given it’s a ds emulator. And you’ll probably like it. It still suffers the ugly animations of Shadow dragon, but its a solid game over all.

    • What if nintendo has waited so long because they remade the entire series in one game???

        • I know that’d make some fans really really happy. For me personally, I was never able to get that into Earthbound, but I’d give it another shot, I guess.

          Also, why is it that when everyone was asking for mother 3, THEY LOCALIZE MOTHER 1??? Was anybody really asking for that?

            Honestly…. I don’t know. There are just too many series that I love, I can’t choose just one. DP remakes would be up there though.
