According to Serebii.net, The Pokémon Company has announced that 5,954 Pokémon Sun & Moon players have been banned for “altered save data”. Although normally nothing to worry about for people who do not try to hack their games, there are a number of legitimately obtained Pokémon/move combinations that can erroneously trigger the system. No cases of false positives ending in a complete system ban have been reported, but it is something to keep an eye out for.
Players will know that they have been banned if the error code 090-0212 appears when they try to connect to online functions. It prohibits participation in Rating Battles, competitions, and Global Missions, as well as use of Game Sync.

Yeah some of their hack checks were preeeeettty sketchy. It was pretty evident during the Bank transition during Gen 5-6 where a lot of legit events were not getting through; and when that VGC player with the Dream Ball Aegislash was just let through just fine…
Oh yeah, you should all be careful of evolving things Poketransported from Gen 1 that have later gen evos… I’ve heard reports there’s problems with Blisseys, Eeveelutions and the like…

Well, I can’t think of a bannable combination, but here’s a somewhat-related example.
In Emerald, you could get Mew from Faraway Island and catch it in whatever Ball you wanted. In RBY, you could catch it via a perfectly legal glitch, also in any Ball you wanted. However, every other method to obtain Mew is from an event, in which case it comes to you in a Cherish Ball.
From what I understand, Pokemon Bank is doing the Cherish Ball check on Mew, which would make any Mew obtained from the aforementioned examples “problematic” and unable to be sent to Pokemon Bank.
I don’t think it can get you banned, but that combination is pretty much along the lines of what you were asking. I doubt you would get banned for egg moves, though. Hopefully that helps.

I’m all for banning people who have Pokemon with illegal move pools, but let’s be real here. There’s no difference, aside from time spent getting it, between a Pokemon that has been hacked to perfection and one that has been bred to perfection in the exact same way.
Technically Pokémon hacked into the game can cause files to become corrupted. Especially when done incorrectly, or with malicious intent (to purposefully corrupt people’s files), so I also understand it from that point of view. Especially if these Pokemon are allowed to be traded e.t.c…
Save data corruption from edited or genned mons is nearly impossible in Gen 7 games. The game can interpret a pokemon’s data values (even if they’re impossible to achieve through normal play) without problems because, unlike previous gens, these values are standalone and aren’t used to calculate anything other than that single pokemon’s stats, moves, level, etc. This means that your save file would have to be edited with something other than powersaves or pkhex (e.g. editing the game data’s code/text or changing values that aren’t accessible through pkhex/PS) in order for a chance of “corruption” to occur. Even so, pokemon are hack checked for legality before they can even be put into the GTS or wifi traded.

I realize 6,000 is kind of a drop in the ocean compared to the number of people who actually play Pokemon, but I gotta say I’m a little nervous now……I have 2 hacked Pokemon that I know of. The first was a shiny Shaymin I made back in gen 5 so I could complete the national dex just by touch at the very least. The second is AZ’s Floette which I got just out of curiosity and just wanted to see her in action. Both of which I would never use online for any reason in general due to them being hacked. Shaymin might be ok as I was able to not only bring it up from gen 5, but also put into Bank without it even noticing. That much hasn’t changed. Floette I’ve never moved from my Y so I suppose that should be ok too……What I’m afraid of is if I’ll get banned simply for having them period. I’m not very competitive, but I’d like to be able to at some point if the mood strikes my fancy. I’d never cheat, but this has me nervous. I really hope that since 6, 000 is such a small number com[pared to the number of actual players I won’t be one of the unlucky ones……also the fear of any of my legit Pokemon looking like a fake is also scary. they need to fix that at the very least…….

Like, I still haven’t transfered anything from Gen 6 to Sun&Moon. I simply tested if I could still put some of my legit event mons in Bank (like Shiny Xerneas & Yveltal, which I heard were being blocked) and it worked as normally. I guess the problem is in Sun&Moon then. Bank is fine.
Maybe they should implement a system that marks hacked pokemon, like what ever system they have to tell hacks from legit pokemon the should just put a “H” on the Pokémons info screen if they deem it a hack that way trades and battles will be a lot more straightforward.

Yup possibly the most cliché Bug type on a Top 10 list, but ever since Gen.4 when I got a Heracross card I loved this thing, yet never used till White being my first foreign Pokémon I ever got in Unova being a power house and able to sweep some of the most pesky Pokémon. Also Fun fact it is the Pokémon second to Starters I have used in the most games being Emerald, SS, and White

Yes everytime I replay B/W and B2/W2 I love it and can’t put it down, it’s rather odd, I guess it just feels a bit lacking to me, even having access to old pokemon now it still feels off.

With Alola Forms and the Pikachu blank spaces, Gen VII Kanto Livedex is larger than the previous largest portion, Gen VI Unova. However, I personally find it bland and forgettable compared to the other portions besides Hoenn.
Without seventeen butterfly patterns and twelve extra fairy flowers, and a pumpkin patch of varying sizes, Gen VII Alola is actually the smallest portion of my Livedex to date, even factoring in OC Magearna and Marshadow. As it was the last part I needed to complete, it did feel underwhelming immediately after completion: however, imo its much more visually rewarding and I find the Pokémon more individually recognizable

Don’t worry about it. Hacked Pokemon likely aren’t considered “altered save data.” If they banned anyone in possession of hacked Pokémon they’d ban literally anyone who trades Pokemon ever.
True. At the very least, I can breed them, pick up the IVs on their offspring, and use those guys for battles, etc.

As much as I think Pokemon GO is bad as a video game, I kinda agree. It was a fun experience, especially since I was on vacation during its peak. It was fun walking around on the beach and around town hunting for the infamous growlithe. It was definitely the best part of my summer, but I don’t think it’ll ever be as fun as it was then. Mainly because EVERYONE was in on it. I could go around, and everyone else was looking for the same Pokemon. I could ask where something was, I could take a gym and have it taken back or reinforced, I could walk on the boardwalk and see team mystic shirts being sold by small souvenir shops, it was truly amazing. I don’t think we’ll ever see a mobile game turn into a global phenomenon (one that actually gets people MOVING and INTERACTING nonetheless) so quickly like that for a good long while. It was really something, regardless of whether people like it now or not.

Believe me, I can completely understand how you feel. Even if it isn’t the exact same thing, my parents have been fighting nearly every night now and even some mornings for a few weeks, and by the end of the night everyone’s just exhausted. I’m getting somewhat numb to it but that’s beside the point. It really sucks to see people close to you depressed and distraught, I know. I hope it ends soon and everyone feels better. Just keep up hope!

I can relate too much
My mom’s a complete narcissist, so she likes to make everything about her.
I’ll be trying to help her with something (like adding two fractions), and when she gets frustrated she’ll completely burst. Tell me I’m a horrible teacher (great way to encourage someone who wants to teach), that I’m being mean and condescending, that we just want to see her be stupid etc.
So then I say “Well fine then. You can figure this out yourself.”, and I’ll leave. Then she’ll burst out in tears saying how cruel we are because she does all the work around the house (which she doesn’t), and we never help her, and the one time we actually try to help we just give up. So I’ll explain that I don’t want to teach someone who’s just going to get pissed off whenever I try to help. Then she’ll go into her “You’re all so ungrateful. I bet you wish I wasn’t your mother, etc. etc.” rant. And sometimes it gets so bad that she’ll leave the house and go drive somewhere else, completely in tears.
It’s hard to sympathize with her.
You just need to let your mother be alone. Don’t let her drag you into this. You need to help her directly when she’s willing to accept the help, and indirectly when you can.
I feel even worse for you now
I’ve just learned to ignore it. I’m generally unhappy whenever I’m home because I get so stressed out b/c of her.

So I just clocked the time from when you beat Champion Kukui and when the next time the game actually saves to see how long the “epilogue” is in this game…and it was literally almost exactly 30 minutes. As far as Tapu Koko goes, I just knocked it out in 1 turn so if you actually battle and try to capture it you may add upwards of 5 or 10 minutes to that…

One part I never understood about those items was that for some reason, a Random Aether Paradise person had the Soul Dew, Prison Bottle, and the DNA SPLICERS with them. It never made any sort of sense.
The explanation was that Lusamine had them and was planning on using them, and the employee just randomly gave it to you.

I’m in the process of transferring every Pokémon I own from ORAS, I completed the Dex with all mons having 6IVs, but they all had bad natures so I’m gonna have to breed them all again! 🙁
I miss Gyms, the Trials just don’t have the same replay value or challenge, and on top of that are very easy.
I watched a vid yesterday of someone who had a Kanto remake for the Switch in mind with traditional gyms, Lillie as the champion, Hau the Viridian gym leader and with Island challenges on the Sevii Islands.
They were an interesting change of pace, but by the time you get to the next trial, you’re almost always overleveled and that makes it laughably easy.
Not a fault of the trial itself. You can say Gyms have the same overleveling problem.
I agree with this. There are novel at first, but they lost their novelty by reptitiveness (and relative ease) and I’m afraid they are not adequate replacements for Gym.

The Trainer battles are what make them better, that and having to solve your way through
I like the totem battles, but overall I like gyms more. The trials themselves don’t hold up to navigating a gym and battling trainers. Idk, they were kinda lame…why am I taking pictures of ghost pokemon?
There was no challenge to them, it was just do this, do this, and also you couldn’t lose, in the Fire Trial all the answers are right, and it’s fine the first time round but the second and so on. I liked solving my way around a gym, and beating all the trainers.
I just replayed Moon and realise that the game reminds you that Lillie isn’t a trainer WAY too much
Don’t forget that the whole tutorial is way longer than it should be, and even after its over there’s still the fact that they don’t stop holding your hand thru the entire game!

Since Trial Captains are automatically booted from being a captain at twenty, at least two if the Akala Trial Captains would become Gym Leaders (and maybe Illima too, but I’d rather Guzma be Hau’oli’s Gym Leader) and we’d have replacements for most of them
Hau would become Kahuna as Hala is E4, the Akala Kahuna would be the Akala Captain that isn’t a GL for the same reason
You’d complete the island trials and battle the Kahunas in a predetermined order, then taking on the Gyms and then the E4

Don’t get me wrong, it’s probably a fantastic shooter. But it’s just that. A shooter. The only shooter I’ve actually enjoyed is Splatoon, because it feels unique in that the main premise isn’t some sort of war, it breaks other shooter conventions, etc.
Plus the praise it gets is sorta annoying. I’ve played less than my fair share of shooters, but it doesn’t seem all that different from your typical shooter other than it has more well-defined characters and it’s more colorful than the typical grey and brown theme of most shooters.
The gameplay is totally different though?? It’s all based around teams and getting the objective
Isn’t every shooter sort of like that? There’s always an objective and you always have a team…
I can’t say for sure, if I’m being honest. Shooters aren’t by any means my genre, so I could be totally wrong here.

Real friends don’t let friends play medicore fire emblem games. Just play FE 12, hardest difficulty, no resets. if you can make it through even half the game without reaching a no win situation you’ll have cred for life.

Emulate it. It was never released state side and the English patch is easy enough to find. Plus its actually pretty good, barring Kris who’s kinda lame compared to Robbin and Corrin to a lesser degree. Their also kinda broken units as well, but that’s the nature of all My units. It’s also one of the few fire emblem stories that is actually pretty good, all be it rather sad.
Hmm, I’ll consider it, since I’ve been pretty bored lately. The only real issue is that my laptop doesn’t run very well anymore and I’m not going to risk an emulator on my family desktop, so idk. Maybe I’ll see if my laptop can run it, who knows?
It probably can given it’s a ds emulator. And you’ll probably like it. It still suffers the ugly animations of Shadow dragon, but its a solid game over all.
