Pokémon GO’s Holiday Event Announced

Just a day after Pokémon GO’s release on the Apple Watch, Niantic has revealed the holiday event for the ever popular mobile game!

December 25th until January 3rd

  • Get a one time use Incubator each day on your first PokéStop spin of the day
  • All the recently baby Pokémon’s eggs will be more likely to be obtained from PokéStops during this time period as well
  • Previously only set to appear until December 29th, the Festive Hat Pikachu will be now be available in the wild until January 3rd

December 30th – January 8th

  • Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and their evolutionary lines are more likely to be encountered during this time
  • Lure modules will last for 60 minutes instead of the usual 30 minutes

Strangely, even though the presents are in the image they used, Niantic didn’t explain the mystery gifts found in the APK.

  1. Strangely, Ninatic doesn’t even mention that 90+ other Gen 2 Pokemon. You’d think they’d at least give them out as presents, but nope. Sometimes that company sickens me and damages my soul. What a pathetic group of humans.

  2. Awkward moment where the Halloween event was better. Lol.

    One time use Incubators? What?

Personally I think this Christmas was the perfect time to throw in all of Gen 2 Pokemon and increase spawn rates. But then again I guess they werent sure if the servers could handle it.

    • I think for Sun and Moon, in the theme of dark and gory Entries, Delibird’s entire houdlve been this:

It has been rumoured before this fellow holiday bird, Pikachu with holiday hats were spotted everywhere. After the first Delibird, no more of those Pikachus were heard of again.

  4. Here are some Pokemon Alolan Form ideas I have if they implement them in Stars:

    – Cloyster; based off of the mollusc that’s considered food.

    – Kingler; Based off of a lobster.

    – Jynx: Based off of Moana/Hula girl

    – Mr Mime: Based off of a native tribesman

    – Kangaskhan: Based off of a magma-burnt Kanghaskhan

    – Clefable: Based off of a pixie

  6. Honestly I shouldn’t start up fights it’s break and I’d rather keep a healthy, good image instead of making enemies so I’m sorry Indian Tech Support and Earthen for harassing you two forgive my underdeveloped brain and my unnecessary existence.

  9. I got some good ideas for Pokemon evolutions/prevolutions for the new Alolan ones

    Mimikyu:
    Pre-Evo: Copimi
    Typing: Fairy
Appearance: Extremely cute version, so cute that people cannot get their eyes off it easily.
Dex Entry: Upon evolving, Copimi loses its charm and cuteness due to the Dusk Stone sending horrific vibes through its innocent soul.
How to evolve: Use a Dusk Stone.

    Pyukumuku:
    Evo; Cucumbrrgh
    Typing: Ice-Water
Appearance: Larger, squishier version. Spikes become frozen, and its top of its body gets a thin sheet of snow.
Dex Entry: Cucumbrrgh are known to live amongst tribes by cooler regions of the seas. It has been said that they are mass-populated in regions by Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh.
How to evolve: Using an Ice stone.

    Drampa:
    Pre-Evo; Kidragon
    Typing: Dragon
Appearance: Very young; eyes visible. Tiny eyebrows and has a pure aqua colour scheme.
Dex Entry: Kidragon are known to get along best with Dratini and Jangmo-o. Sometimes, Kidragon also tries to fly, however due to its bone structure it is impossible for it to.
How to evolve: Level it up to lvl 45.

    Ribombee:
    Evo; Bowbeille
    Typing; Fairy-Bug
Appearance; two bows attached on its elegant antennas; colours are a match of brown and yellow. Wings are the shape of hearts.
Dex Entry: When in harm, Bowbeile unties its bows to create two large whips. It scares off ramped Ariados by threatening them and gobbling up young Spinaraks.
How to evolve: Level it up to lvl.50.

  10. Oh my god. I just learned Gengar doesn’t get Sludge Wave via TM. It was a special move in Gen 5 (via dreamworld) and an event in Gen 6

    *facepalm*
