Pokémon Movie 2017 Officially Announced

As per the usual Holiday tradition, the first trailer for the next Pokémon Movie has been released!

Airing on the Japanese variety show, Oha Suta, the next Pokémon movie will premiere in Japan on July 15th, 2017 and is called Pokémon, I Choose You!

The trailer showcased random landscapes, such as Pallet Town, and showed Ash putting on his hat and picking up a Pokéball followed by Pikachu looking a bit confused at the end. The official poster (shown above) features Ash & Pikachu in a field with Ho-Oh.

Thoughts on this departure from the usual yearly Pokémon film? Disappointed it won’t be focused on Alola, or ecstatic for this celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the anime?

  1. Oh, This is the film Ash Pikachu will be distrubuted for probably, that would make sense.
Also, Kanto Remakes again possibly? Just the exclusive Mew Z move reminded me of the Latios/as megas.
I mean, we all expect sinnoh remakes, but they’re not doing what we expect, so, it’s possible?
I’m mean I don’t want them, kinda fed up of Kanto, but it kinda makes sense, what with alolan forms being kanto pokemon, and Kanto heavily referenced throughout Sun and Moon. I wouldn’t count it out. Pokemon Burning FireRed and Pokemon Crispy LeafGreen or whatever.
