Pokémon Movie 2017 Officially Announced

As per the usual Holiday tradition, the first trailer for the next Pokémon Movie has been released!

Airing on the Japanese variety show, Oha Suta, the next Pokémon movie will premiere in Japan on July 15th, 2017 and is called Pokémon, I Choose You!

The trailer showcased random landscapes, such as Pallet Town, and showed Ash putting on his hat and picking up a Pokéball followed by Pikachu looking a bit confused at the end. The official poster (shown above) features Ash & Pikachu in a field with Ho-Oh.

Thoughts on this departure from the usual yearly Pokémon film? Disappointed it won’t be focused on Alola, or ecstatic for this celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the anime?

  2. A bit disappointed but it’s gonna be a very relationship-centric movie I guess. I think the story will be more sensitive because the earlier episodes of Pokémon anime are some of the best ever. Even with my disappointment, I’m ecstatic to wait for more information in the future. And, Ho-oh! Finally getting the attention!

  3. Even in Pokemon I’m a procrastinator… this Saturday’s the VGC tournament already and I’m barely done with the team!

Tapu Koko – needs to be level 100 to max out speed… and he’s only level 62!
    Oranguru – done
Gyarados – for leveling to 50
Drampa – egg moves done now only needs to 5IV’d
    Klefki – needs breeding
    Goodra – needs breeding

  4. The movie seems like it’ll be interesting, its nice that Ho Oh will be getting a chance to shine hopefully. Can’t say I’m too disappointed tbh because we’re gonna get movies base off of Alola someday its just a matter of when. With this one I think it makes sense in the way that this is the 20th anniversary xD

  5. We really need a movie that adds more info to the alternate world theory. Maybe have the UBs used as transporters between the two worlds?

    • That would be very cool, I could see it could get featured in the next SM movies along with Solgaleo and Lunala being involved

  6. Oh my gosh I have a fantastic idea! They should make either a movie or a TV series on Looker! It could be all about his adventures from SInnoh, to Unova, to Kalos, to a mysterious arrival in ORAS Hoenn, to Alola!

  7. I’m at that point of dex completion where the rest of the stuff can be gotten on the GTS with castforms, but take like a day each, and I’m too lazy to go get one myself. -_-

  9. I have just discovered my newfound most forgettable pokemon.
    Musharna

Seriously, I forgot this thing existed much more than the common ones like Mothim.

  10. So I have a quick favor to ask. For some reason, the forums page for the league won’t let me respond, and it hasn’t for weeks. I keep thinking that if I come back later, it’ll work, but it never does. Until I figure out something, could somebody drop by and say that I haven’t forgotten about this, but rather that I’m just having issues? I haven’t replied in over a month so I don’t want it to look like I’ve abandoned the idea.
