  1. SOS battles are a really poorly designed mechanic. I’m trying to chain in order to find a Castform, and so I used an Adrenaline Orb and the opposing Pokemon is at 1 HP due to False Swipe. Even still, I can go 5 to 10 turns of waiting for it to call help, and it just doesn’t. And then, when it finally calls for help, nothing appears! But on the flip side, if I’m not trying to chain, and just trying to catch a Pokemon and did NOT use an Adrenaline Orb, the damn thing will call for help 5 times in a row and help will always be there!

  2. 400 pikipeks. . .
I know some people have to go into the thousands, but I was honestly expecting it to be so much easier than this…

  3. Question about Type: Null
Was Silvally ever an intended evolution by the Aether Foundation? Because they mention Type: Null was designed to destroy the UB’s (never mentioning it can evolve), but RKS doesn’t activate until evolution, and Type: Null’s BST is 534, while the UB’s is 570. However, upon evolution, Silvally becomes 570. Silvally’s dex entry then mentions that it’s Gladion who gives the evolution a real name though, so I feel like Type: Null’s whole existence within the games is super unclear.

    • I thought Sillvally was the one created to fight UBs but it’s power was unstable so they designed the Helmet to dampen it’s powers. Hence Type:Null.

        • This is why it being a evolution irks me slightly. It doesn’t make sense for it to be an evolution. It’s a form change.

Unless you wanna justify it by saying Type:Null must be comfortable with a trainer before removing it’s helmet becomes safe (hence the ‘evolution’ by happiness).

But that’s too much of a stretch.

          • I agree, as is, Silvally sort of bothers me. They could rectify it by giving Type: Null a form change that isn’t Silvally, but similar. That way Gladion still would be the one to discover Silvally by evolving Type:Null with love instead of helmet removal. They would also probably need to boost Silvally’s BST if they did this though.

    • I always thought that was silvally was type full but do to them being unable to control it the nerfed it down to type null and only once they figured out how to control it would they remove it’s mask

  4. So guys I need some advice
I need to run a Ground Mono for Alola but need ideas
So far Mudbray, Alolan Diglett and Sandygast…. And that’s literally it…..unless I give myself Zygarde 10% and Sivally…. Just feels like cheating……

    I do have this….othe plan…
    Mudsdale
    Alolan Dugtrio
    Alolan Golem
    Alolan Marowak
    Pallossand
    Alolan Sandslash…

That team sounds out my ally but it’s just a mixed team then…..I have to continue my title and go through a region with native ground types

  5. I’m curious; does the increasing encounter rate of shinies in SOS battles cap eventually, or could somebody in theory get it to a point where there were shinies everywhere?

Update nobody asked for: 480 Pikipek. My calculations must have been off somewhere, because I can go maybe 100 further.

  7. How are some youtubers so lucky? I’ve seen titles such as “15 encounters shiny Rockruff” (made up example), and that’s normal for them. For them going over 100 is insane, and here I am well over 500, and maybe people here have never even found a shiny.

    Reply
    • it took me 150 encounters for shiny dewpider (without shiny charm) and for shiny bagon (with shiny charm). I haunted for shiny mudbray but I gave up after 300.

    • I think honestly that certain game cartridges have like better odds then other I swear, back in my pokemon X game literally like everything was shiny, even the fletchling in the catching demo, but so far for sun and moon even when hunting I have come up with nothing. (I know this isn’t a legit thing but like, its so interesting that I had such intense luck with that X cartridge for shinies, even when I had Y as well it was always X that I found them in)

  8. My team for D/P remakes:
    Torterra
    Honchkrow
    Floatzel
    Magmortar
    Lucario
    Porygon-Z

    I might do this though:

    Infernape
    Empoleon
    Honchkrow
    Porygon-Z
    Froslass

  9. Tip for Araquanid users
Run a defogger/Rapied Spinner at all costs! Araquanid does not take rocks well at all and it is really terrifying for it, even more so than most bugs

  10. What’s everyone’s teams?

    Moon (Cosimo):

    Torracat
    Crabrawler
    Trumbeak
Rockruff (one level away from becoming Lycanroc Midnight)
    Fomantis
    Wishiwashi

    Sun (Jeff):

    Dartrix
    Crabrawler
    Trumbeak
    Rockruff
    Bounsweet
    Egg (Eevee)

On my Moon version my Eevee egg hatched and then at level 8 it evolved into Sylveon. I thought it would evolve into Umbreon since it was night but it ended up being Sylveon. But I go ugh too it was pretty cool how quick it evolved.

    • My main team ended up being

      Incineroar
      Toucannon
      Vikavolt
      Mudsdale
      Toxapex
      A. Ninetails

Gotta admit this team is probably one of my favorite teams to date. Maybe it’s due to the story of Sun and Moon, but I feel really good about the time I’ve spent on them and am really happy with how they turned out. lol

        • Well to be fair they both had their own uses so it’s kind of hard to say. Also I had Mudsdale most of my game and Ninetails really only for ending part more so (at least until it’s available anyway), but I guess in a way Mudsdale is more useful. Having ground, fighting and a Steel type move available to it is pretty useful. That said in the right battle Ninetails is super useful. Both are great is what i’m saying lol

  11. This is it. I’m out of PP items, and I have exactly 20 more chances to get the Pikipek. If not, I wasted 8 hours on chaining 700 Pikipek for nothing.

    I’m so scared right now. ;_;

  12. Just purchased Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Wii U since I sold most of my physical games a while back to pleasantly find out the Wii U uses my Wii data and my 100% file is still there ^_^
