Where are you in Sun & Moon?

Let’s have a little chat in the comments below! I have honestly been way too busy offline to enjoy much of the latest Pokémon titles and am about to face Olivia now. I’ve also been going slower because I turned the Exp. Share off as soon as I got it (although I’m reconsidering its use now…).

Raves, rants about the games? Try not to say anything about the plot itself though!

  1. Hey anyone else curious about this?
look at the elite four. Kahili was already a champion, Hala and Olivia are Kahunas.. than there is Acerola… I know she’s related to nanu… but it seems weird shes part of the E4 doesn’t it?
And that she’s the first kid elite four member (second if you count Iris as the champ), and while each captain besides Mina (who is kinda her own thing and probably has them somewhere)
There is zero evidence of who Acerola is related to, they’re royal.. but never metioned

  2. I have officially caught UBs 1 and 2. Might take a break and try to hunt for something. Maybe I’ll get lucky even without the shiny charm lol

  3. I find it interesting that Trial Captains are required to retire their position when they turn 20. Depending on the age of our current Trial Captain roster, who knows how many will return for a potential sequel. And what happens to them when they’re gone? Will they embark on a journey to another region? Live normally? Perhaps challenge the Elite Four in hopes of becoming Champion?

    • I think it’s to encourage the trial captains to go for higher positions (e.g. Kahuna, E4, Champion as you say) or move on to other jobs and let others be trial captains.

Mallow is one of the most obvious as she has a restaurant.

      • Seems right. I’ve never really understood how someone inherits the role of an Elite Four member. Yes, you become a Kahuna if you are chosen by the Guardian Deity and yes, you become Champion after beating the Elite Four, but how does one take over an Elite Four position, if at all?

          • I don’t think she was necessarily kicked off, but if we take game time into consideration, Hapu became Kahuna as the Pokemon League was finishing its construction or when it was already finished. Since there was no Kahuna at the time of the League’s preliminary building stages, they called in Kahili since there’s no predicting when the Tapu would have chosen the next Kahuna.

  4. It sorta makes me sad that Rotom dex says he misses Hau. This sorta suggests that after the events of the endgame (involving a certain friend) split up the whole friend group.

    • That might be in regards to the fact that the protagonist and Hau had a set path, and with the Island Challenge over, they wouldn’t be confined to that same path.

          • Hala does seem rather old, so that’s definitely a possibility! It really would depend on the time interval between S/M and the potential “Stars.”

          • Dang it! I hope they release it next year and have it for both consoles. Legend of Zelda is for Wii U and Switch, so why not Stars? I’m sure GF will realize about 85% of Pokemon players would rant or feel negative about this sudden change. Save the console movement until Gen 8!

          • If it’s a direct follow-up to Sun and Moon, it’ll most likely be a 3DS game.
If it’s a D/P remake, it will likely also be a 3DS game.
If it’s a new set of titles (PLEASE NO), then it’ll be on the Switch and involve some kind of new formula in terms of the world and battling style.

          • No gen has had a third game happen on a different console anyways and all gens have remained on a single console, so there’s a 1% chance of it happening.

          • GF has never stuck to perceived patterns. I’d say there’s a 1% chance it’s not for Switch. EuroGamer isn’t a rumor mill site. They only post what they VERY much believe is totally true through their own sources.

          • Except:
-Breath of the Wild has been in development since the Wii U was launched. Other than HD ports. The Wii U has no new Zelda game.
-The 3DS has 3 pairs of Pokémon games. 3DS owners were not short changed by any stretch of the imagination when it relates to Pokémon.
-Nintendo needs every reason possible to make people want to buy the Switch.

          • – It would be unfair to put Stars on one single device instead of making it the final 3DS game.
            – The GBA had Gen 1 to 3.
            – There are lots of people who don’t want to give up their expensive consoles yet, buying a Switch just for it is really cheap and it’ll strain people’s money.

          • -No it’s not “unfair.” GameFreak doesn’t owe you anything. They never promised you anything. If Stars is real and it is a Switch exclusive you either buy it or you don’t. There is no moral value to be assessed. No one is entitled to a video game to be made to a specific hardware of their choice.
-What are you talking about? It had 1 and 3. Not 1 through 3. You already have more regions on the 3DS than GBA.
-Video games are not food. They are not shelter. They are not water. If you’re putting yourself in a financially stressful situation because you can’t stop yourself from buying video games then you need help.

          • You’re the first person who actually is being mean to me here so I’ll just stop. Switch is mediocre, 3DS is good for me, you hate 3ds, end of discussion.

          • Also no, I don’t think most fans would be upset by it being on Switch. This is how video games have worked for 30 years. A console comes out. Games come out for it that make you want to buy the console. 5-7 years pass. Rinse and repeat. And countless others like myself can’t wait to play Pokémon in HD and I wouldn’t touch a 3DS option with a 10 foot poll.

          • Sorry about that mean to me comment I don’t know where it went and if I did I’d delete I just saw that i was just being stubborn that’s it. Sorry!

          • Considering the fact that we won’t get a new game announcement until a few months (or a year) from now, the Switch will likely have already released and the game will be for it.

          • Or at least on a handheld console that I wouldn’t feel really paranoid about carrying around like I would with the Switch. It’s easier to replace a 3DS than it is a Wii U… I’d just worry about breaking it or getting it wet or losing a controller. And I’m a really careful adult, think of the 10 year olds who will want to stuff one in their backpack. And then if you have more than one kid, but you can only afford one Switch because it’s the big “family” TV console, you only have the one picture screen to carry around and trade with friends, you couldn’t battle your brother/sister with each of you getting a version of the game etc.

And Nintendo isn’t going to tell us anything about the Switch for a long time, so that’s FANTASTIC. I want to know if I should save up for one or not, so I’d like a price range.

    • He also wonders how Lillie is doing.

Well Hau is off randomly training to beat the champion…

I’m gonna pretend there’s offscreen cellphones/skype/viber where the protagonist gets to chat with Hau/Lillie.

  5. I’m interested to see how creative we all can get. Let me set the scene: a sequel for Sun and Moon–set in Alola, taking all events from Sun and Moon into consideration. What do you think the plot will be like, taking things like the villainous team and some Gym-like system into consideration?

  6. Trying to uncover patterns with Pokemon games is such a difficult task at this point, especially in terms of release dates and story progression. The devs throw some MAJOR curveballs sometimes, making every new experience feel so genuine and fresh.

  7. Just noticed that Lusamine basically has a pokemon from every region except Kalos
    Clefable: Kanto
Mismagius: Sinnoh, but Misdreavus is Johto
    Milotic: Hoenn
    Lilligant: Unova
    Bewear: Alola

    Intentional?

  8. Ok this is where I am in my journey on Pokemon Moon,I’m gonna face the Pokemon League but I’m currently doing some grinding with my team first before I proceed to challenge them.I’m pretty slow but I don’t want to get destroyed, the last two trials, grand trials and Gladion almost wreaked through my team because I was unprepared and a slight underleveled. ( plus I don’t really have a defensive pokemon on my team to tank hits when I needed to switch out )

    This is my pokemon team
    -Toby ( Incideroar,Male ) Lonely,Good Endurance.Moves: Darkest Lariat,Flamethrower,Fire Fang,Bulk Up
    -Nani ( Pa’u Oricorio,Female ) Hasty,Takes Plenty of Siestas.Moves: Roost,Air Slash,Revelation Dance,Feather Dance
    -Phara ( Salazzle,Female ) Modest,Somewhat Vain.Moves: Flamethrower,Toxix,Nasty Plot,Venoshock
    -Link ( Kommo-o,Male ) Quiet,Likes to Run.Moves: Poison Jab,Brick Break,Clanging Scales,Dragon Claw
-Kit ( Alolan Ninetales,Female ) Timid,Scatters Things Often.Moves: Ice Beam,Moonblast,Extrasensory,Calm Mind ( I did admit to trading and breeding an vulpix from the GTS so I can have one with Moonblast )
( currently EV training him and his moveset is not final ) -Elliot ( Drampa,Male ) Timid,Capable of Taking Hits.Moves: Calm Mind ( will be eventually replaced with Surf ),Hyper Voice,Dragon Pulse,Energy Ball

What I like about my team is that each pokemon were caught in a different pokeball
