I have a question; If Diancie was a catchable legendary in S/M, wouldn’t it be able to summon Carbink?
Since a Carbink became Diancie, quite possibly. Though I don’t think Legendaries have S.O.S calls.
It could be a Totem Legendary.

Did you turn the EXP share off? If so I don’t blame you. Cause without it, yeah leveling is a little more difficult
Had it off for the majority of the game, saw a big level jump towards the end of the game and had to turn it on. Now post-game, I have nowhere to grind since I can’t rematch NPCs T.T
Why don’t you grind against the Pokemon league, or the wild Pokemon in Vast Poni Canyon?
Train in the wild with exp share on. Makes it way easier
There’s just no reliable place to level up. The Battle Buffet would have been great but nope, GF decided that taking on the Battle Buffet once a day was plenty enough
Where are you in the game? The Poni wilds is a good place
Post-game, grinding up to rematch Anabel cuz she obliterated my team the first time around
Try Poni Wilds, it was a good place for me, although mine are mid 40’s.

Brooklet Hill is Lana, then you go south through battle royal, then north to volcano and Kiawe, then loop around to the upper part of route 5 where you find Mallow that you can’t get to the first time.

I think there’s a limited number of wishiwashi you can catch before the totem though. You get 2 or 3 chances I think and then you’ll have to beat the trial to get more if I remember correctly..

Levels don’t really matter, what matters is the time it takes to get between events.
True, to an extent. I used the Exp Share and had pokemon leveled close to/slightly above the Kahunas each time and still had difficulty in some points. Plus, I struggled quite a bit with the end of the league. However, that could be possibly because I had a strange/not so fantastic team comp…
So, yes, Exp Share does cut down on the grind, but they also made the battles a bit harder to compensate for people that use the Exp share even if you’re a touch overleveled. Now, if you somehow took the time to grind to level 50 for the second island, I could imagine it wouldn’t be hard.
It’s more the problem I had with gen 6 was being overleveled, it’s just Kalos was paced TERRIBLY
That /shouldn’t/ happen now if you use the Exp. Share. The only way I could honestly see it happening is if you purposefully grinded 5 levels above everything. During the whole game, I did minimal grinding and ended up never being more than 3 levels above the NPCs at any given time.
Even so, as I mentioned prior, I still ended up quite sore. The biggest hurdle in the game (time wise) is getting past the first trial. After that, everything is relatively linear and smooth and it requires a little bit of grinding (even with Exp Share) but not a gross amount.

It doesn’t have a Good Special Attack to make use of Critical Venoshocks.
Merciless is useless to me with that abysmal Special Attack Stat.
You don’t need its sp. attack, really. Liquidation and Poison Jab are doable.
I wanted to use Venoshock, and besides attack is pretty low too, it’s a defensive pokemon with a great offensive ability.
Set up baton pass then. Have Decidueye use nasty plot and then baton pass to toxapex
That isn’t the point, skill swap onto Salazzle and Nasty Plots

Finished tha main game and the UB search and now i am working on the Pokedex; going from island to island. I have caught everything on Melemele and now onto Akala. Once i have done each island then i will evolve the ones that cant be caught in the wild.
I’m a little behind everyone else. Just completed the first trial. Enjoying the game at a leisurely pace so far, looking forward to the handhold-y bits being over (though I’ve been warned it doesn’t end till you get off the first island).
After the first island it gets better, but doesn’t fully go away til midway through the game

X/Y swaps between having good pacing and bad pacing so much I’m not even bothering to place it.

XY’s pacing was too long between Gym 1 and Gym 2 and Horribly short between all others.
I liked the time between the Gyms, it had so much potential for plot set up and level curving.
It was almost always traveling ONE ROUTE. Kanto made you backtrack at least.

Plus the (tedious after the first time) Palace and the fact that Route 8 is in two distinct halves
The first 2 gyms were extremely far apart, gyms 2 and 3 where a town and 2 routes and a cave, 3 and 4 are a route, 4 and 5 are a route and the power plant, 5 and 6 are a route, 6 and 7 are route, ice cave, mamoswine route, 7 and 8 was flare, route, route.

And Kanto’s backtracking was obnoxious tbh

Gen 4 had horrible pacing. I was thinking of making Platinum joint with XY, or maybe it’s DP should be joint with XY, and Platinum just above them. Honestly I very vaguely even remember Platinum, it’s been so long.
Sinnoh actually inserts its legendaries into the plot fairly competently and the Gyms all have more consistent spaces between them

I like Platinum over other third versions by the modifications to Acuity Lakefront.
I disliked it for some reason. Maybe it was the restless younger me that thought it was just too slow. Have to admit I haven’t played those games in years, but I remember thinking they were very slow.

I do it outside the breeding place. Not in the fence though. It makes me feel paranoid that steps aren’t counted as accurately. But I just hold B and move the pad in a circle and it seems just fine.

With this and the Apricorn Ball thing I really don’t know why they fell so hard on this. All of the improvements XY made to breeding, I’d think they’d want to continue making that the best option for obtaining better Pokémon. It almost seems like they want people to hack the Pokémon in sometimes.
I had to research this. Happiny had a chance to be holding Lucky Eggs in previous games. No longer the case in Sun and Moon.
