Where are you in Sun & Moon?

Let’s have a little chat in the comments below! I have honestly been way too busy offline to enjoy much of the latest Pokémon titles and am about to face Olivia now. I’ve also been going slower because I turned the Exp. Share off as soon as I got it (although I’m reconsidering its use now…).

Raves, rants about the games? Try not to say anything about the plot itself though!

  1. Thought I’d just say it now because I’ve defo decided

I’m cancelling the tourney fic, it’s too time consuming due to having to wait for feedback and the fact that it’s not exactly as free-as-I-please as other fanfics. Plus I was using it for practice.

Sorry, but it’s what’s best for me and as these are the two most deciding years in my life I have to prioritise

  2. How do you get Incineroar to learn Throat Chop and Darkest Lariat? When it evolves does it just learn it or do you have to go somewhere?

    • I dunno it did what everyone thought it’d do

Be a cheap gift hinting at another region, although I did see a fair few people thinking you’d get transfer bonuses

      • Personally it was obvious that it wouldn’t do anything, what with not being able to put Items through Bank. But a fair majority of people seemed to think it was important. Some thought it unlocked something, some thought it was a literal depiction of one of the Tapus, which was one of the sources for someone not believing all the Pokemon were leaked. So I find it kinda funny that it’s worthless and you can have as many as you want if you want to waste your money.

  3. Assuming Necrozma is the “Third” legendary, which tbh is very likely. Do we think like all the main ones, Rayquaza (Included due to Mega Rayquaza), Giratina, Kyurem and Zygarde, that it will get another form. And do we think if it has it’s own version it might also evolve from Cosmog?
Also what ideas do you have for a form, I can’t really piece it in my head

    Reply
    • Its obviously the third legendary and judging by its flavor text it may have come from Ultra Space, but long before Cosmog and the others and thus it has become more accustomed to the Pokemon world. Whether it’ll get another form, I guess we have to wait for Stars to reveal that

      Reply
      • 1) I never said it wasnt, I said if just so there wasn’t argument.
        2) I wish people would refer to Stars as a rumour instead of real until it’s officialy announced, cause if it really isn’t real you’re all gonna look really stupid.
        3) If it came from Ultra Space, maybe it had an original form, and adapted to the one it’s in now in the Pokemon world.

  4. There is one thing I passionately hate about Pokemon, the effectiveness of Fairy type in battle! Immune to dragon, super effective against fight, resists bug, not weak to ghost and randomly, its attacks are weak against fire. I hate how this type works makes 0 sense except for being SE against Dark type

  5. Question time again, inspired by down below

If you could fix the typing of any Pokémon (not the type itself, the type of a Pokémon) what would it be?

    • Alolan Marowak Ground/Fire or that Alolan Cubone existed and it was pure Fire or Fire/Ground
Maybe Weezing Poison/Flying at least that would give it a promising Electric, Ice and Rock Weakness (That stupid gas ball is stupidly bulky and needs a nerf)
Azumarill back to pure Water, although… Granted I hate it immensely it now has a Poison Weakness and Seismitoad is the perfect counter…
      And that’s it…

          • Still kinda bummed that Muk was turned dark
I would’ve loved to see a Sulfur eating Muk that became Poison/Fire
            I mean both makes sense

Eating waste byproducts causes a new toxin inside it to be created and ruined their metabolism causing them to violently eat everything in sight

But a Muk living in smelly sulfur filled volcanic vents caused their bodies to absorb volatile minerals causing their sludge to be flammable which causes them to resist their own flames and belch out flammable gasses

          • I HAVE SAID THIS COUNTLESS TIMES
“Demand for Pikachu in the alola region was high, in order to meet public demand, scientists introduced Pikachu from neighboring regions to the Alola region. After cross breeding with Alola Native Pokemon Pikachu soon could be found everywhere; but unbeknownst to the scientists these Pikachu exposed to Thunderstones resulted into this strange new form.
“Researchers theorized that it resulted from increased electricity in their brains upon evolution due to mixed breeding”

          • 1) Pretty much all Alola Forms have been self contained to themselves for adaption (no mention of breeding with other species)

            2) Breeding that long wouldnt make a new Raichu, it’d make a hybrid species and it’d inherit more than ‘more electricity’

It’s an excuse to have a cute floating mouse in a kids game

          • It’s better then lazily saying it just happened
And who’s to say this particular species didn’t do that

          • Then point 2 is enforced

Breeding that long with another species would cause more than just the increased electricity to occur, it’d take on other features and become a hybrid

          • Well yes in normal circumstances then by that logic every Pokemon we breed would be a hybrid

And just because they bred doesn’t mean their a complete mix, it can be slight differences over gradual time

AND don’t forget these are Pikachu we’re breeding, they’ll end up as Pikachus but when exposed to Thunderstones these mixed changes resulted in this new form because of the power of evolution

          • The thing is though is that Pokémon breeding is literally just like that for simplicity’s sake as a mechanic

If in-universe, breeding actually worked like that, we’d have no Alola Forms and no Darwinian Evolution at all.

And even if the changes were small enough to not be a new species, then it isn’t going to change Raichu so drastically to the point it gains Psychic powers without having external signs of hybridisation showing up.

          • Well all it needed was that one logic
Brain is psychic and the brain of filled with electric impulses

Anything to prove me wrong ehh,

          • It’s slow af and had bad Special Defense and health

It’s called having a Psychic-Type move or even just a strong special attacker

          • Then you’ve obviously used it wrong
Just because of its bad special defense you immediately dismissed a FREAKING 120 base defense tank

That is solid bulk, but if your so closed minded just to ignore it all because of its one flaw you truly know nothing

          • Oh be quiet Jon Snow

Psychic-Types and Psychic are common af, as are plain special attackers

It has shit tier HP to back it up, with no reliable recovery

Mega Venusaur does everything better than it

It can’t break numerous threats, such as Heatran, Chansey, Celesteela, Toxapex

It can’t even act as a TS absorber due to Levitate

It is heavily outperformed by other physical walls

          • It’s called not having it out for special attacks
And it has Pain Split which they all run and black sludge so it can gradually sap energy and it also runs Wisp which shut down the thing it’s supposed to wall
And your full of shit sometimes “can’t break numerous threats, it’s a Wall and a wall versus a wall is bound to go nowhere

You’ve obviously never really fought one hands on, because it’s just so easy to sit there and just chirp blaitent weaknesses and never actually stepping into a actual battle where you cannot possibly have each and every single counter because you possibly can’t

          • >Pain Split depends on the Weezing having low HP to do shit and a shit wall due to its HP and Sp. Def it ain’t that good

            >Black Sludge on a shitmon is still a shitmon

            >It’s called not being an idiot and having something that doesn’t mind burns or absorbs/nullifies burns

            >There’s plenty of games where it comes to tank v tank due to risky switches or being the last ones in the match, which can be the difference between a win and a loss

Also, full of shit? Pot. Kettle. Black.

          • Because people are too comfortable with their OU norms

If they catch on it gets obliterated, especially if it’s an NU mon

        • Thanks, also, if you already have a rash, than can’t you use it to Synchro another rash? I think you could do that. Also I should let you know that I won’t be able to trade until 5:00 pm EST.

  6. Why can’t I register anyone as a VIP in Festival Plaza? Why is this such a downgrade from the PSS? The minigames and facilities are fun and all like Join Avenue, but the connectivity features are so disappointing.

    Reply
      • I’ve found several facilities I want from people and want to register them as VIPs so I can switch in and out of them as I please, but every single time it’s exactly that, Registration Failed. This is incredibly annoying.

    • PSS was just so easy. It’s the main reason I even did some competitive last gen.
I know I’m personally not gonna use 80% of the Festival Plaza stuff..

      Reply
      • Everything was right there. This is exactly why I’ve been against Pokemon returning to a single screen format. Joe Merrick mentioned this the other day, Festival Plaza seems like it was designed for a single screen.

        • This saddens me and actually feels like a step backwards. I personally loved the functionality of the bottom screen in Gen 6.

Even the map on the bottom screen of SuMo is a god send.

      • This is still just as simple as PSS as far as playing randoms online goes. Go to festival, click battle, click Battle Spot. Festival only adds one extra tap.

        Reply
        • Everything on PSS was organized nicely and readily available. I didn’t have to scroll through a long list to find my friends either. I’d like to make my friends VIPs, but the game is not allowing me to do so.

          Reply
          • The friends online show up at the top. I haven’t had any problems with interacting with friends in it. Personally I didn’t think the PSS menu was organized well at all, same goes for this. But neither make it difficult to play online, imo.

  7. And now I’m trying to page the person I want to VIP to my castle, yet she doesn’t even appear on the guest list, even though she is standing in the plaza. This is so fudged. PSS I miss you.

  8. Hmmm…do you guys think this would Balance Aegislash?

Kings Shield will only work when used in Blade Form to change you Shield Form. If you use it while already in Shield Form it will fail all the time.

Considering Talonfames nerf, I’m surprised Aegislash didn’t get a nerf too.

  10. In the Pokedex different kinds of pokemon are under different colours.
Regular mon have a Blue Background,
    Smaller Legendaries have Green,
And Big Legends and Mythicals have gold.
The Gold ones are all unusable in special battle areas and Official Play, but what has me intrigued, is that Type: Null and Silvally’s Background is Green, so, they are Legendary. Though I doubt any site like Serebii or Bulbapedia will class it as such, hell Bulbapedia won’t even say Zygarde is the third in a trio to Xerneas and Yveltal.

  11. I have completed the game from beating the E4, but I have not done the UB sidequest, get Cosmog, or the Guardians yet. I’m just sitting here SRing Type: Null, or should I wait until I get the Shiny Charm or Synchronize Adamant Pokemon in party first?
