UGH! My Type Null isn’t evolving! I made it max affection and enjoyment, and battled it and levelled it up, yet it wont work!
It’s happiness, that’s different from those 2 things.
Dang it. Well, it looks like I can’t evolve it.
Why not?
Wait so it doesn’t have to battle itself to evolve? Just needs to be happy and gets EXP points?
What you have to do is give it a sooth bell/items like vitamins until it reaches a high amount of happiness. Then you battle and level it up and it should evolve.
Where do I buy vitamins?
You can’t really buy them form any shops in the Poke centers. The vitamins are the hp ups, irons, and calcium you find around the region. I think I saw that you can get them from festival Plaza too, but I’m not sure from where in that.
Actually looks like you can buy some at the Battle Royal shop, but that involves spending Battle points
Happiness is raised by using any items on it. I personally use stat reducing berries in gen 6, not sure how easy they are to get in 7.
You can also simply walk/tauros around with it in your party (gains some happiness every few steps) as well as having the massage in Konikoni City (once a day). The happiness checker is right next to said massage too so you can check if Null is ready to evolve.

Oh novermind I find it, I was able to get my Silvally evolve after buying even single friendship thing, massage and vitamins combined.
Why? Just give it soothe bell or items until it’s happiness goes up.

Pokemon don’t always call the same species when they call for help. sometimes it’s a different. there are however very specific Pokemon each Pokemon will call so you’re not gonna get too crazy with it.

difficulty of the gameplay, maybe I need to turn that off for a while
I only just turned it on when I got to Poni Island. I appreciate the difficulty that came with not having it on!
generally I would say low 50’s is ideal. I’d recommend having your ream in the mid to high 50’s before the elite four, because despite their typing’s kind of being meh, they are an actual threat. Especially the champion.
Really? That sounds good. I remember battling the E4 multiple times in Red in order to level up my team before even getting the chance to fight Lance :V
This time, we can keep our money safe: buy Strange Souvenirs from the Thrift Mart, since they sell back for the same price.
So it’s more time-saving to grind on the E4 now than whatever excuse they have for Victory Road.
I also had all Pokemon more than level 50 at that time and our boi Guzma still gave me a run for my money.

So after some grinding, my new Decidueye has finally caught up with wild encounters.
Alakazam is now fully benched and will probably be available for chaining to check abilities of wild Pokemon.

If you turn the Exp. Share off you should be fine. I played with only 3 Pokemon until I got to Mimikyu, and I was never over-leveled by that much.

Wow my timing is impeccable! I evolved my Torracat into Incineroar in the battle just before you get Incinium Z. It was almost too perfect! lol
Either you or I were extremely off in levels. I had a level 27 Dartrix at that time.
I feel like maybe you were under leveled or something. I have a certain way of leveling up my team, but I can’t say I grind too much. My Pokemon were about the same as the Pokemon from Sophocles’s trial.

I’m seeing a lot of:
Tapu Bulu/Koko/Lele. Bulu and Koko are sometimes on themed teams. Sometimes not. A lot of Marowak-A. Intimidators (Gyarados and Arcanine. A little Krookodile) and lots of UBs. Pheramosa, Kartana, and Celesteela are the I’ve seen the most. And some Trick Room utilizing Oranguru and/or Mimikyu and Porygon 2.
Have you seen Porygon-Z with Z-Conversion?

+1 in every stats plus you convert to the typing of the first move in your moveslot plus adaptability boost. so electric porygon-z with stab tbolt plus adaptability is a thing for late-sweep
any sign of Xirkitree on those trick room teams? I feel that’s where it will shine most.

It’s pretty common. But I minimized my Gigalith’s and Celesteela’s speed since they’re so slow so I can counter at least semi easily. My Gigalith frequently ends up being the fastest under Trick Room lol
I love celesteela! I’m not sure what to do with it. trying to earn BP in the tree with my 3 favorite UBs, Celesteela, Xirkitree, and Pheromosa
I run a special attacker for the surprise Hidden Power Ice and Flamethrower. It’s probably my favorite UB
I’m not sure my celesteela’s hidden power. yep, its definitely my number 1. reminds me of the dominion rod statues in twilight princess lol

mine edges slightly in sp.atk. Serebii has a list of prime EV training spots, I’m heading to smogon to see what it learns before I start (shame it isn’t compatible with roost…)
Personally I made a sandstorm team. Been pretty happy with the current build. Haven’t felt like I lost with the current roster due to the team itself and more so that I’m still a total noob to VGC and I find it much harder to think around than OU singles.

Well I don’t really shiny hunt so the way I handle my shiny collection is I leave them as is. And then on the off chance if I were to get another of the same Pokémon, then I’d evolve it.
hey that’s not a bad idea! I like to see if I (well, first like their color lol) can use them in competitive. I found a really great Gyarados in 6th gen, shiny, and 2 max IVs in both defenses, decent in atk. she was pretty good!
Gonna be honest, I’m trash who has no problem paying someone to just hax me competitive ‘mons. I respect doing it the right way but I just don’t to take the time to do it myself.
oh I pkHexed my team last gen. honestly, I don’t care. I’m trying to go legit this gen, I thought bottle caps would make things easier (and they do in theory, but I gotta get my mon’s EV trained before rushing the E4.) and they are hard to come by. at least eggs aren’t nearly as much of a hassle as they were last gen. they hatch so much faster this time around. maybe when PKhex settles, I will gen me some bottle caps.
ugh trying to earn BP with a non EV’d team is just… hard as hell. gotta get those power items…

I’m probably going to give vitamins to my 3 favorite ultra beasts then EV them from there. that, I’m sure, will get me some bp. I can barely get past the first 10 battles with them having 0 EVs. I soft resetted for good natures too, but its just not enough.

Well SOS is kinda the same as chain fishing…
I think its more akin to friend safari and dexnav chaining. the chain in the dexnav didn’t matter, whatever pokemon you found in it had the same 1/500ish chance of appearing (same odds as friend safari) I think the pokemon called has those same odds, regardless of chain number. I could be wrong though.

Specific balls are kinda too much to ask, especially Moon Ball (there’s only one of each Apricorn in the game). I can definitely set you up for a Luxury Ball Jangmo-o (once I reach that point in the game).

I already caught Vulpix in Timer Ball though.
