  3. I have some ideas for 3rd Pokemon S/M games;

Star; Minior’s secrets get revealed along with more in-depth involvement of Cresselia, Solrock and Lunatone.

Planet; Lusamine and Lillie return. Lusamine is now the heroine, and this is about 5 months after S/M. Lusamine has completely gotten out of her evil form and has integrated back into caring gentle mother, however secrets of the Lusamine family are revealed including their father being the leader of a rebellion known as the Planetary alignment. 2 new legendaries for this champ

Rainbow; this game is mostly focused on the story. It’s basically revolving around Team Plasma and Guzma.

  4. Finally came up with a strategy for beating that Primarina. Too bad I’ve had to fail a few times, but this is a legitimately hard fight.

  6. No huge spoilers please, but a month ago or so I heard that you had a father in the game, but as far as I can tell, this isn’t true. Was that just a rumor?

  7. Shoot, I’m suddenly accepting the fact that I’m sick. I thought it was nothing and it’d pass, but at least I’m off for the next few days. 🙁

  8. So I’m in the Tapu Koko battle…excuse my morbid curiosity, but given that I wasn’t able to save beforehand, I would never have another chance if I killed it?

  9. Why does everyone seem to be taking the “pokemon stars” rumor like a fact? Doesn’t it have no more credibility than any number of the fake NX rumors?

    • It was corroborated by GameXplain who also received the rumor independently and they seem confident, so I’m not sure. Also, it’s from Eurogamer, who made the one real and important NX leak.

          • I’m no analyst, but wouldn’t it be better to release it late summer/early fall? Considering the demographic, it’d give more times for kids to see commercials, go see their friends who might have it, etc. Plus it’s not like if the game releases in summer it won’t be there for the holiday season.

          • Nah. As I said in my comment, it was supposed to release in the Summer of 2017. Yet, the stopped developing the Switch version to polish S/M for it’s release. Now it’s going to be released in Fall of 2017, while Breath of the Wild takes the Summer 2017 spot.

    • It’s a legit rumour. Top Switch leaks such as EuroGamer, Laura Kate Dale, and even GameXplain has verified it. It was supposed to be a Summer 2017 title, but development on the Switch version halted to polish S/M. It’s going to be a Fall 2017 title, with Breath of the Wild being a Summer 2017 title. It’s going to consist of new assets, HD textures, better lighting, new models and more. Essentially, a superior third version to S/M. Also, “Stars” in the name is a codename.

  11. Man, I want to cry after beating this game. I haven’t felt that way about a Pokemon game since B2W2. I can honestly say that this has been worth the 2-year wait, and then some. This is a new high standard for the series, and I simply can’t wait to see what they do with Alola in the near future, as well as whatever comes next. They’ve really redeemed themselves since XY and ORAS, two games which I felt were mediocre in their own rights. I’m excited about the future again, because I see now that Game Freak will never run out of good ideas. I didn’t believe it before, but I do now.

      • It’s probably accurate to say that Pokemon Stars will be a direct follow-up rather than a remaster, if it happens at all, considering the work they put into these games. They did the same with the 1-year gap between BW and B2W2.

          • I won’t spoil anything myself, but they do leave an opening at the end for a follow-up game. It also just doesn’t make sense to me that they’d overshadow the hard work that they’d done one year later. I think it should be a separate entity that uses assets from the original, but continues the story.

          • Ah, makes sense. I was confused because of the terms “follow-up” and “remaster”. Let me get this straight, so BW2 would be considered a follow up, and platinum considered a remaster?

Sorry, I’m just kinda out of it!

          • Yeah, you have it right. There’s a bit of a Grey area (very punny) with those two, because Platinum definitely makes some big additions but B2W2 try very hard to distinguish themselves from the originals.

          • B2/W2 is a direct sequel to B/W. Essentially, a follow-up. Platinum would be considered as a remastering of Sinnoh, making the game better. Pokemon Stars will be basically the Crystal, Platinum, or Emerald of S/M. Yet again, basically a remastering of Alola in HDDDDDDDDD.

        • Well, EuroGamer states that it’s just a Third Version. So, similar to Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum. I doubt it’s a sequel to S/M because what would you cover? I wouldn’t mind a timeskip in the game or the edition of another region though (maybe the addition of going to Kanto with Lillie or Red & Blue). Still, it’s going to reuse a bunch of S/M ideas with completely new models and HD everything. Overall, producing a better and smoother experience.

    • After seeing all the stuff about the game, it hurts that I have to wait till Christmas. Sun/Moon seem like the perfect games in the series. It’s was an outstanding change of pace. I cannot wait to play it myself and get the third version of the upcoming Switch. GameFreak really has shown that they still got it. Also, why the hate for the sixth Generation? I loved X/Y and OR/AS…

      • This is MY department! *cracks knucles*
        I hate 6th gen because. . .
        1. Forgettable characters with no development
        2. Recycled story
        3. It was way, WAY too easy
        4. Little to no post game
        5. Very boring region
        6. Comparatively lackluster remakes

        To name a few.

  12. I’m really happy people are really enjoying these games. Just remember next time around, no need to break out into a panic when the leaks don’t meet your expectations cause the game itself could still be fudging magic.
