Can U get Hidden ability starter from the beginning?
I wish. 🙂
Since you can’t encounter them in the wild, you can’t do adrenaline orb chaining…
But if you get old gen starters via scanning Pokemon, you can try to chain that and hope to get a hidden ability one. Bring a Pokemon with Role Play so you can check the abilities of incoming Pokemon.
I didn’t play XY so I didn’t much details about that …..wat I am worried about that my Incineroar will will not be that good without his HA ….and wait to catch another one is sucks …….u know most ppl reset the game over and over until get a good nature.
No, you can never get the starter with it’s HA, it’ll always have Blaze/Torrent/Overgrow
This is sucks …they should make an item turn normal ability to Hidden one.
How early can Smeargle be caught?
Pretty early if i remember correctly. Either before or right after trial 1
OK thanks, I’ll need it for Egg Moves.
It is in the grass in the first city, in between fences.
Anybody else forget all about the Pokefinder?
I’ve never had to use this much healing items in a Pokemon game before. I don’t know whether Sun and Moon are harder or my team’s just utter booty (I mean my Steenee has doubleslap ffs)
Yeah this game is actually pretty hard for a pokemon game, though is easy enough in the right places.
Also, the fact that Alola mons have low speed stats isn’t helping.. I can barely run away from half of my encounters
I don’t know why but I’m trying to catch a Dhelmise
Cause it’s hella good and cool?
Cool? It’s a derp
Nah. Vanilluxe is derp. This is cool. But in a more abstract way. Plus 3 STAB moves!
You son of a bitch
I just hooked one
Look at that dex entry though…….”Swinging its massive anchor, it can KO Wailord in a single blow. What appears to be green seaweed is actually its body.”
That’s what makes it awesome! They Pokémon is just the seaweed. And it’s like nothing more than that! Haha I dunno man. I dig it.
Because it’s the same type combo as Decidueye and Decidueye is the best.
I do feel sorry for Decidueye getting outshined, though obviously not in popularity, by Dhelmise. It even has a Steel version of Decideye’s signature move lol
Such a waste
Not staying for long, just popped in to say Hi and tell everyone I’m fine! 😀
Also I’ve been using a Grassy Terrain/Hail doubles team on Pokémon Showdown, so I’ve decided to post two replays to show you guys what to expect from doubles (specifically Smogon Doubles) this Gen

Also, Mudsdale does not die. Forgot to mention that.
What one are you running?
Assault Vest
Stamina
Earthquake
Highorse Power
Rock Slide
Close Combat
Holy crap Earthen is going to enjoy this thing
Does Heavy Slam not work well?
Wait, I think it actually has Heavy Slam over close combat, lemme check
Here’s the specific set
Mudsdale @ Assault Vest
Ability: Stamina
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
– Earthquake
– High Horsepower
– Rock Slide
– Heavy Slam
HS over CC as lowering your defenses is bad for a tank, and Earthquake and HHP in order to be able to have a strong STAB regardless of wether Grassy Terrain is up or not.
Do you use anything to take advantage of Stamina? Like Skill Link Rock Blast Toucannon?
Yup, the same Toucannon also lures in Waters and gets them with Bloom Doom!
Nice, I look forward to trying this in-game 🙂
Do it, it’s such a satisfying tactic to pull of!
I used the same move in single with AS but without Highorse Power but Body slam …..I like ur battling style though.
I’m so confused, I want to unlock the Reverent style battle pose, and serebii says you have to defeat Kiawe to do so…only problem is Kiawe is a Sun exclusive battle. So wtf
You’ll probably have to defeat Mallow then, as she’s the Moon counterpart battle
I’ll try that, thanks!
Whaaaa. The Captains are version exclusive battles for postgame? Damn.
Actually, you can battle Mallow, Kiawe and Lana after defeating Olivia. Mallow and Kiawe are version exclusive.
Gotcha
I’m not up to the post-game, but you can battle them after their trial at specific places and time.
Here’s my set for OU Smogon Doubles if anyone wants to try out a team without having to build from scratch. I’d prefer if you’d at least adapt it after a while though, it’s mostly a taste of what to expect rather than me giving you a full blown team to use forever.

That’s me away off again, can’t wait to come back properly some time next week!
That looks solid. I’m not going onto Smogon for a while, but I’ll probably come up with new teams as I go.
I might try Speed Swapping Ribombee’s Speed onto Mudsdale after the Defense Boosts.
Finally found my Mareanie! Didn’t take too long, but I was pretty confused on how to fish in these games at first. Not sure I like not being able to fish wherever I want, but it’s do. Gonna have to get used to the whole SOS battle system, especially if I wanna shiby hunt in the future. Once you get the hang of things it seems like it’s not too bad, but being at the mercy of having to find a rarer Pokemon to fund an even rarer one it tough on the psyche lol
Gotta love that Oranguru is 5% 😛
Oranguru one of the reasons that I choose moon (great design)….its Trick Room room will be useful with all these slow mons.
Been trying to catch a Modest/Timid Tapu Lele for about 2 hours now. Every nature i get is either neutral or Special attack decreasing…
Does Synchronize still work? If it does, I’d get a synchronize abra and ditto, and breed with no everstone until get modest/timid.
Thanks i forgot about that. It should still work
So i just caught it when i decided it would be best to use the syncronize strategy…in a great ball just kind of goofin off. But i might go for timid in order to out speed.
I CANT DECIDE WHO TO REPLACE
Passimian or Crabominable. I’ve decided which version I’m getting (Moon) so I’ll need someone with Sun to trade me Passimian. But I love them both so much. My planned team is very weak to Flying and Fairy and since Crabominable can provide against flying, signs point at Passimian. What do you guys think?
I’ve got tons of Passimian and can get more in case you want that.
Also Passimian is a bit faster and can use Rock Tomb/Rock Slide… so you may want that instead.
……….A GOD DAMN GARBODOR KILLED MY INCINEROAR
Rekt by trash
Two gunk shots and poison
Wow. You should really take out the trash its starting to pile up
I guess Darkest Lariat doesn’t apply to negative stats
You know that classic WWE wrestler whose gimmick is being a garbage man, and his catch phrase is “It’s time to take out the trash!”
Progress Update (Pokemon Sun)!
Just completed the Final Trial at Vast Poni Canyon!
I now have 15 Z Crystals (17 including Pokemon Specific) and my Final Team is now complete:
Primarina Lvl: 52
Vikavolt Lvl: 51
Salazzle Lvl: 52
Tsareena Lvl: 52
Alolan Sandslash Lvl: 52
Kommo-o Lvl: 48
So the answer to if you can soft reset berry piles for crabrawler… you probably can’t.
You can see it shaking before you get to it, so if it has a crabrawler it is probably there when it’s spawned.
Its funny to me how much people are having trouble with catching Crabrawler and I avoid berry trees now because I dont want to bother battling one
SAME! Every single flipping tree!!
Timid or modest Tapu Lele?
Modest.
Timid if there’s anything you need to outspeed (need some competitive wrangling here).
Modest by default since it has highest SpA.
However, if you plan on running support Lele, Bold and Calm are possible choices.
How can I get the pink nectar? I’m in Royal Avenue but can’t find it.
Nevermind, I found them.
How early can I get the UBs?
Post game I believe
Thanks
How bout the Tapu?
New question: I though Oricorio got different level up moves based on form, but is that false? Either I’m misreading serebii or it’s not true.
I don’t think it does. I know a lot of people were complaining that it doesn’t get any Electric/Psychic/Fire/Ghost moves (bar Revelation dance). I’d assume that would be the case if its movepool doesn’t change based on form.
According to the leaked move list, they all have the exact same moves.
I asked this exact same question last night :'(
I honestly boxed them all, and chose Charjabug as my electric. Kind of lame…..oh well.
Caught Solgaleo and bet Lusamine… geez that girl if off her rocker!!
Is Minior any good?
Yeah but purple is really hard to find and I’m tired because I stayed up looking for a purple but I found one and I named it Nova so its ok
Glad you were able to find it <3
Ok just found a Heavy Ball… probably the only one in the game…
better use it wisely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*uses on Magikarp*
Wut?
Pretty heavy Magikarp
Oh man, it’s right next to the Pokeball right now… accidental usage might mean a soft reset… heh heh heh.
Me:*raises hand*
Me: how do science do?
Teacher: “We uncover the universe by having our huge computers calculate and calculate until there’s nothing left to calculate anymore”
Me: Thx teech
After a painstaking week. I’ve decided my team and which version to get. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ef9607ab75a39f34cd7b39acea5cb534441752d13262ac5cdf96d69dde8aa6fd.jpg
Salazzle <3
Minior <3
Araquanid <3
It was a tough deduction between Araquanid abd Golisopod, but I just like Araquanid’s design more and it seems to be the lesser used one.
You sure about Exeggcutor? I am using it now and all I can say is Alolan Persian with technichan does a better job as a competitive Pokemon.
I’ve been sure about it since the day it was revealed
What do we thinks in this egg? (Picture 1)
It’s pretty plain looking, but we know that eggs tend to have the colour of their Pokemon on them.
I have an idea, seen as it’s been sent to Alola from Kanto, it’s a Gen 1 Pokemon. Seen as it’s been sent to a researcher of Alolan Variants, it’s a Pokemon with one. It’s similair to the vulpix eggs we’ve seen in earlier seasons, (Picture 2)
However, it seems to be lacking the Swirls, unless they’re hidden.
So I have 2 guesses.
1) Vulpix (We know lilly has an Alolan Vulpix egg from the opening, so would it be a stretch to say Samson Oak has 1 egg for each?
2) Diglett.
