Regionwise, (Regional Pokedex Spoilers) Incineroar is the only starter not to share it’s type combo with another pokemon in the region. Houndoom isn’t in alola, but Decidueye shares Grass/Ghost with Trevenant and Dhelmise, and while theres no Marill, Primarina shares Water/Fairy with Tapu Fini. As theres also not really any new new Dark Types, it seems like the perfect one to start with for me
I’ll end up with all of them by trading anyway, so I’m picking the ones I like the best

If someone’s trading over something to replace their starter they probably don’t care about if it has the exact typing, it could share any Type or even be completely unrelated and it’d still be replaced

The starters are not shiny locked. I might give myself 1,000 SR’s to try finding Shiny Rowlet. Tho I probably won’t last because of wanting to start the game already and hearing that the SR time is long because of the cutscenes.
When I try for Shiny Rowlet I will likely want one with it’s HA. I really want to know how we obtain HA’s in this game.
Yeah! Gen 6 was great, we got the starters’ HA’s immediately in the post-game. I hope we can get the HA Gen 7 starters, and not have to wait for dumb event distributions ._.
The best part was being able to put them in different Pokéballs. Meant I could breed my Shiny HA Greninja in a Dusk Ball, looks like a Ninja using a Smoke Bomb when released.
