Croagunk Revealed as Next Pokkén Fighter

Contrary to popular predictions based on datamined information, Croagunk has been announced as the new fighter joining Pokkén Tournament’s roster. The game update will be coming to Japanese arcades on November 10th, with no details yet about Wii U release. Several characters have yet to debut on the console version as of writing.

We’ll update the post with a high-resolution trailer and more screenshots as they come.

    DECIDUEYE stabs are resisted by: Grass/Dark, Grass/Normal, Poison/Dark, Poison/Normal, Bug/Dark, Bug/Normal, Flying/Normal, Flyng/Dark, Fire/Dark, Fire/Normal, Dragon/Dark, Dragon/Normal, Steel/Dark, Steel/Normal.
    Total: 14 types combo.

    INCINEROAR stabs are resisted by: Dragon/Fighting, Dragon/Fairy, Dragon/Dark, Fire/Dark, Fire/Fighting, Fire/Fairy, Rock/Dark, Rock/Fairy, Rock/Fighting, Water/Dark, Water/Fighting, Water/Fairy.
    Total: 12 types combo.

    PRIMARINA stabs are resisted by: Grass/Steel, Grass/Poison, Water/Poison, Water/Steel
    Total: 4 types combo.

    Now combo types that hit both super effective on starters types:

  4. I went to GAME to get some Genesect Codes, and their machines were messing up. I then tried the other 2 GAME near me, same issue. I dunno if it’s national.
    Though the guy did promise to keep a Mini NES to the side for me, so, theres silver linings

  6. Who was your very first favorite Pokemon? Mine was Vulpix/Ninetales from Blue and Red (I had Red, and Vulpix wasn’t in Red unfortunately…). But I still managed to get one!

  7. Wait, this reminded me, no one is asking the biggest question about Sun and Moon….
    What role does Looker Play?
    I doubt he’ll not appear, I mean since his first appearance the only game he hasn’t been in is B2/W2, and that’s cause he was in Kalos at the time.
    Lets look at his timeline.
    His story starts in OR/AS, Washed up on a beach with Amnesia (In the same area we discover a magma and aqua grunt in a starcrossed romance, these 2 are married in B2/W2, confirming this happens before that), 3 years later he’s in Sinnoh, then a few years later he’s in Unova, Thennnnn 2 years after that he’s in Kalos, and we discover Croagunk died.
    So, I feel it’s likely he’ll appear in Alola somewhere, the question is, where?

    • This just made me realize how muddy all the remakes have made this timeline. I’m thoroughly confused about each games time and place now

      • Simply the basic timeline stays the same.
        R/B/G/Y/FR/LG=R/S/E/OR/AS
        3 Years
        G/S/C/HG/SS=D/P/Plt
        Unknown time but not long
        B/W
        2 YEARS
        B2/W2=X/Y
        Unknown time but not long
        S/M
        Then from there, every new game in a new region takes place after.
        You can think of it as, Remakes take up the main canon, OR, lots of seperate timelines following the same basic events.
        I have no clue on Side games except for Colloseum, which is same time as Gen 1/3, then XD 5 Years later, meaning that takes place probablyduring B/W.
        It’s best to just not think about it and accept it’s a very loose canon with solid points in the timeline.

        I’m curios to see if Gen 4 remakes will continue this, and be set at the time of the originals, or will be shifted up in the timeline which will really mud up the whole thing.

  17. gotta be honest, this dlc makes me cringe really hard. also, it doesn’t really matter to us as long as it isn’t for the wii u version. one more thing, where are mienshao, golurk, and bewear?!? woulda made for much better dlc, and waaaaaaaaaaay less cringey.

      • not the last 2, this one. the way croagunk is portrayed as some weird anime ganster, and that typical anime cliché character who does everything right on accident, and the cliché joke character of the fighting game. ugh. also, wasn’t croagunk an assist?

          Mellow but holds a unique unusual personality

          I wouldn’t call his fighting style “cliché character who does everything right on accident” it’s just harnessing its own bizarreness into a potent threat

          And besides every fighting game needs a joke character
