Contrary to popular predictions based on datamined information, Croagunk has been announced as the new fighter joining Pokkén Tournament’s roster. The game update will be coming to Japanese arcades on November 10th, with no details yet about Wii U release. Several characters have yet to debut on the console version as of writing.

Croagunk was super popular during D/P due to the anime, bascially the Braxien of Gen. 4, so I’m not all that shocked it was put in over Toxicroak. I’m also really glad another NFE got into the game.

I just can’t get into pokken Tournament :/ even with my favorite Pokémon being in it, I just think it’s boring

I don’t mind croagunk over toxicroak, but I was so looking forwards to Empoleon ?
Think of it like this. Empoleon all but confirmed already. We know hes coming eventually. However pokKen doesn’t have a real trolls character, so this is a good break from the serious ones we’ve gotten. As well, I wouldn’t put it past gf telling the devs to hold off on empoleon as they likely have a design for a mega empoleon for the do remakes that are probably already in the works and they don’t want to date their game that quickly.

Croagunk/Toxicroak are some of my favorite pokemon, so I’m pretty pleased. I think having smaller, unevolved fighters makes the roster more fun and diverse. (:

Which version do you prefer? The anime were you face your peers in a tournament-styled competition to have a chance to fight the Elite 4/Champion or complete the arduous trek through Victory Road to challenge the Elite 4/Champion?
