Contrary to popular predictions based on datamined information, Croagunk has been announced as the new fighter joining Pokkén Tournament’s roster. The game update will be coming to Japanese arcades on November 10th, with no details yet about Wii U release. Several characters have yet to debut on the console version as of writing.
We’ll update the post with a high-resolution trailer and more screenshots as they come.

Think of it like this. Empoleon all but confirmed already. We know hes coming eventually. However pokKen doesn’t have a real trolls character, so this is a good break from the serious ones we’ve gotten. As well, I wouldn’t put it past gf telling the devs to hold off on empoleon as they likely have a design for a mega empoleon for the do remakes that are probably already in the works and they don’t want to date their game that quickly.

I agree, but I think Fairy and dark should be weak against each other to represent the never-ending conflict between the forces of good and evil. But, I’m biased since I love Dark types 😛
If I had to suggest a change, I’d prefer Fairy to do just neutral damage to Fighting.
For some reason I thought Normal was gonna be SE on Fairy, purely because:
1) Normal hasn’t got an SE on anything
and
2) It would make a type triangle. Normal>Fairy>Fighting
But I can see how that would make Normal OP compared
I know I wish Normal would have at least one SE advantage.
I think the reason it doesn’t is because it’s basically a “Basic” Type, that almost any Pokemon can use a move of.
Of course, by that logic, Normal shouldn’t be paired with anything, but there we go.
The funny thing is that GF created Fairy type to balance Dragon, Fighting and Dark Types who were all quite OP (expecially Dragon). Instead they created the most OP type ever, weak to the less common move types ever

I doubt he’ll not appear, I mean since his first appearance the only game he hasn’t been in is B2/W2, and that’s cause he was in Kalos at the time.
Lets look at his timeline.
His story starts in OR/AS, Washed up on a beach with Amnesia (In the same area we discover a magma and aqua grunt in a starcrossed romance, these 2 are married in B2/W2, confirming this happens before that), 3 years later he’s in Sinnoh, then a few years later he’s in Unova, Thennnnn 2 years after that he’s in Kalos, and we discover Croagunk died.
So, I feel it’s likely he’ll appear in Alola somewhere, the question is, where?
Probably be investigating the Aether Foundation and it’s shady business practices. At least that’s what I believe.
I like to imagine you just find him hiding behind a wall somewhere in their paradise, they know he’s there, but they’re just pretending he isn’t

It’s best to just not think about it and accept it’s a very loose canon with solid points in the timeline.
I’m curios to see if Gen 4 remakes will continue this, and be set at the time of the originals, or will be shifted up in the timeline which will really mud up the whole thing.

Yeah, see I didn’t learn about the 20th anniversary until march when the games got announced. I then forgot about them until literally one day after the Arceus one ended xC. Luckily I got the Darkrai, Hoopa, Keldeo, and Victini even though I already had the last two from gen V. I mean I am only missing like five legendaries at most. A legit Mew(As my brother traded my gen iv event one without me knowing.) Celebi, Shaymin, Arceus, Diancie, Genesect I don’t really like and Meloetta I will soon have.
Well if you have the red and blue virtual games go on YouTube and see how to get mew on them and you can transfer that to sun and moon

Toxic + Leech Seed is only really working so well due to an exploit in Gen I where Leech Seed’s damage increases if both it and Toxic are on the same pokemon

Oh yeah they were like that for me too. Another suggestion I would say is to get the most powerful moves you can find at Johto, as well as competitive items you can find, like I found a Choice Specs at the Lake of Rage, slapped it onto my Tentacruel with Blizzard, and it helps. You can also get a Life Orb at the Ruins of Alph

Zangoose is a Pokemon I like normally. Not as in I absolutely love it, but its cool. The insane attack it can get is ridiculous, but destructive to the other team.

I want to see a Pokemon episode where a mother Primarina and her pup are being targeted by Team Skull or the Aether Foundation (with the pretense of wanting to help save the pup), and the mother goes ballistic and a massive underwater/near the beach brawl ensues between multiple Skull/Aether Pokemon versus a pissed off mother protecting her pup. I just see Primarina as a docile and jolly creature until one of its own is being threatened or it feels itself intimidated.

my main problem forming a team for the main game
I’m talking about for the pokejungle league but yeah same principle.
I always base mine like this:
Physical Attackers: Fire, Fighting, Dragon, Dark
Special Attackers: Fairy, Ghost, Psychic, Ice
Defensive: Water, Steel, Poison
I’d say fire is more mixed than physical.
the main reason fire is physical for me is because you cannot burn it, so is the most viable physical type

Ok I think West Kalos the worst area in any pokemon game
I liked east kalos the most.
Central Kalos was the best for me
I hated all of Kalos. :/ It was the one pokemon game I only restarted once and instantly regretted lol
Yeah whenever I want to restart it I think twice because it’s so hard to get through. I only recently restarted it again so o can complete the dex on my OR version and I was dying throughout the whole gameplay lol

I think this gen will have the best story. I think that’s why they didn’t make as many Pokémon. They’re focusing on the story because XY had such a let down in the story dept
Oh the amount of gameplay we’re getting. The Battle Tree, Aether Foundation, Trials, Pokemon League…. So hyped about it, and I hope its rewarding in the end.

Everyone is listing their ultimate teams and everyone has a gen 7 Pokémon in it! A testimony to how good this gen is and it’s not even out yet!
It has so many diverse yet unique Pokemon in Gen 7, which what I mean is each one sticks out. Like for Solgaleo (my favorite Gen 7 Pokemon so far), it’s design and lore makes it stand out compared to previous legendaries, which is what I love.
I totally agree. This is the only gen where there’s not a Pokémon I hate. I generally like all of them. And they put so much into the lore behind each one like never before which is so cool

I really liked Civil War a lot. Winter Soldier and Avengers 1 are great too though…let me just say that I’m extremely hyped for Doctor Strange though.

Reading the reviews is making me even more excited. Although some sites had to go and ruin the credits scene for me… >:I But I’m seeing it in IMAX and I’ve never seen a theatrical movie in imax so I’m really looking forward to it.
IMAX is so awesome yet different. I saw a movie earlier this year in IMAX for the first time and it was not what I was expecting.
Someone told me some of the action sequences were filmed in imax for this movie, so that should be great

If I was actually writing a pokemon fanfic, it’d be easier not to be related to an established character. Maybe a Rowlet from Alola could arrive carrying a letter addressed to me, and it tells me to keep it as my first pokemon. But there’s no signature so it’s a mystery as to who it’s from 😮 That might be too Harry Potter though, but I can’t help it.
stories are always more intriguing when they build off of your own creativity and not the creativity of others, go for a backstory that suits you and you cant go wrong
The Rowlet with the letter would just be an homage at best lol. I don’t really plan on writing one though. For one, I don’t do fanfic. I just don’t like the idea of playing around in other people’s worlds. Secondly, I already have a lot of writing that I need to be doing for my creative writing course lol.
I plan to have my character have a breeder family friend from Alola visit me in Unova and gift me a Litten egg. 🙂
Are you a writer on the side as well then? or do you mean worlds as in like pokemon and such. For my actual stories some of the main characters have traits from me, traits that I hide from people and traits that I would have if I lived in that world.
I am an aspiring writer. I was always told that it was a foolish dream, but I’m finally pursuing my dreams and trying to write more.
I don’t do non-fiction. So if I do a real world story it is changed to suit my needs or creative direction. So by worlds I just mean the one I come up with, but in this case I wouldn’t change anything about the Pokémon world except for making everyone vegetarian or vegan for obvious reasons.
Well, I feel like I write myself into my stories I can relate more to the world, characters, and plot I’ve created.
holy cow! Me too, I’m actually working on my first book in my first fantasy series atm, screw the nay sayers I am going to achieve my dream and you should shoot for that too. I already have at least 30 stories I want to turn into books, I have had them just piling up in my mind since I was like 8 and I need to get them out.
Fantasy is a genre I’m enthralled by! I want to create a LGBT series that doesn’t play on stereotypes. Oh, and lots of magic!

Well a thesaurus is your best friend, and there are tons of world building checklists you can find online if you’re really worried about that, they can cover enough of the basic questions you might forget to ask yourself
world building is a task, but for a short story I think its fine to have some inconsistencies, I have a leather journal I keep for my world where I write down little random things that the cultures have and how they work, but none of it really is made up by me, it kind of comes to me randomly and I don’t know from where but it happens

My main character is gay but its not the focus of his story, but it does influence it quite a bit, actually now that I think about it, all the like main MAIN characters are either women (3) or gay men (3) the like one straight guy got killed off
Well, sexuality won’t be a main focus, but it will be something that is established with certain characters.

One part I am a fan of is Lentimus Town and the area around it because it added in more diversity and habitats for Unova

Incineroar, but before gen 7 it was a tie between Blaziken and Delphox. As for the region id like to have been born in Hoenn, in Fortree even though I started with Yellow this region has always been one where I felt like I belonged and I love nature. I even made my secret base around there!

Yes indeedy! Fire typing’s is one of my favorites and always leaned more towards the Fire starters for the most part
And they gave me my favorite type compo Fire and Dark with my favorite animal the Tiger with this amazing and badass personality.
