Happy Halloween, everybody!

Don’t know how to spend the day? You can take advantage of the candy bonuses in the final days of the Pokémon GO Halloween event, or you can head over to the official Pokémon site to grab some jack-o lantern stencils and participate in other Halloween fun! Or perhaps watch the brand new 7 Themes Japanese trailer for Sun & Moon that was released yesterday? Although there’s no groundbreaking new info, it does show little bits of new footage!

And be sure to spend any Miles you may have left and stock up on some rare items in the Global Link before it shuts down today at 4:30pm PDT!

  17. Thinking about speed running Undertale True Pacifist tonight. That’s kind of a spooky game isn’t it? And my save file didn’t transfer over when I got my new computer a few months ago.

    • Playing Diamond currently and Jesus FUDGE these games are sooooo slooooow. Having a giant mountain in the middle of the region was honestly a pretty cool idea. Really helps to define Sinnoh. But it’s so hard to fully appreciate these games when it takes an eternity to do literally ANYTHING. Remakes will help me appreciate gen 4 more.

  21. I’m gonna post this again cause probably eveybody missed it:

    In the last trailer Rowlet has 47 HP at level 16 and in a different screenshot it has 50 at level 15 (consider that Tepig max HP at level 15 are 49). Now assuming it has something like 67 base HP (if 50 is the max it can reach at level 16) in pokemon history when a starter has a stat over 60 in its base form, that stat is never below 100 in its last stage. Now, assuming that Decidueye HP will be somthing like 105-115, looking at the speed chart of all pokemon, excluding Legends, Mega and Slaking (which all have a lot of base stats), there is not a single pokemon with base HP over 100 and a base speed over 95 (only Darmaritan has 105 base Hp and 95 base speed actually, when nobody else have more then 100 HP and more then 90 speed). So. in my opinion the best speed Decidueye can reach is 90.
    This said, here are my new stat prediction for Decidueye:

    110-120-60-80-70-90 at best
    110-100-65-90-85-80 at worst

      • It’s interesting, though it’s more well known for the third series whoch pretty much set the status quo. The first two series are good for what they are, if a bit dated. They feel very 80s, but in a good way. Here’s hoping though that we’ll get season two as well on toonam so we can see the internet once again question the impossible hat of Jotaro.

    Surprisingly, it’s out in the open after what appears to be your first use of Pokéride. We can guess it’s after your First Trial as there’s an optional area in the trial which requires Tauros, which would be a bit weird as ride Pokémon can be summoned at anytime (not taking a team slot like HMs) and thus is kinda pointless.

    • As always this is nearing the end of my In-game character’s journey and returns back home to Unova, i receive word of a Pokemon Region in the south tropics home to unheard Pokemon and i decide to head there
      now i can’t decide if my schmucks of siblings join me on this journey

      But there exist two personas: my regular self and my Ground mono champion

  49. I had a prophetic dream last night about the remaining Pokémon they haven’t officially revealed yet and the types they were. The dive bell spider is bug/ice, crabrawler evolves into a fighting/ice. The sea urchin thing was poison/steel and alolan dugtrio is fire fairy. Idk if those will be true lol but I wouldn’t mind

    • Also yeah, how did THIS thing get an evolution but not small, weak looking pokemon like pyukumuku, minior, and most of all, komala.

          And tbh Komala and Pyukumuku both resemble fully grown adults of their species, Minior doesn’t look unlogged compared to the likes of say, Emolga and Togedemaru.

        • I wouldn’t say Komala’s is gimmicky. And it’s not as if pokemon with form changes have never gotten evolutions.

          If that is the reason though, I’ll be kinda mad. When we heard about these abilities we all thought they were super cool, but now they’re just restrictive.

    What do you guys think about Cosmog. Is a pre-evolution to Lunala? Or a stand-alone Pokemon? (Im sry about my english :c)

    • It’s tough to say.
      On one hand, it could be a situation like with Carbink and Diancie. Closely related, but not in the same evo line (or form change).
      On the other hand, if it was a carbink thing, then it would be odd for Lillie to have on in her bag, as it’s likely story related.

      • I hope it is Lunala pre-evolution because it would be cool to see it, I don’t know, is just cool.
        But if it’s that carbink thing, let it be.
        But I can’t understand why would they show us Cosmog, but not Solgaleo’s supposed pre-evolution. It’s pretty weird.

        • You’ve misunderstood. The “solgaleo prevo”, is not a solgaleo prevo, but rather a Cosmog evolution for three reasons:
          1. The datamine leaks had Cosmog -> Solgaleo bubble thing -> lunaala -> solgaleo. Everything else was in order, so that would mean that it is likely a three stage split line.
          2. Lunaala has the gold rims, not just solgaleo
          3. Those pokemon represent the development of a celestial body (with Cosmog being a nebula, the first stage).

  88. I just saw someone speculate that Kukui is the final trial captain and specializes in dragon types. I never thought about that but it kinda fits when you look at his interaction with Guzma and the fact that in the demo he gives us a mock trial with Hakamo-o as the totem. And even in the data mine we see Kommo-o as a totem Pokémon what y’all think?

  98. My plan for the night of the 17th (before I go to the midnight release) is to watch every trailer again. The news trailers, the “legendaries” trailers, even the overview trailers. I need to just inject myself with pure hype.

    • It’s the icons for the games if I’m reading this situation correctly. It’s the same ordeal that we had with the demos, we need a 128 bit key.

      • Look on the bright side, this probably proves they left the game data in the demo on purpose.

        And someone might be able to snatch the titlekey from the cartridges if the cartridges contain such things.

          • Because if they’re smart enough to know how to (and why they should) encrypt a game with two sets of 128-bit keys they should be smart enough to assume the demo would be hacked and not leave Pokedex images lying around in a demo.

            This indicates that they probably did leave them on purpose.

            And as the pastebin says, if the game is prepurchaseable, that eliminates one of the 128-bit keys (unless I’m reading that wrong, which I could be, it seems they’ve slightly dumbed this down), meaning the other is just the titlekey, which could potentially be in the game cartridges which could be released early.

            Like I say though, that’s just running on assumptions. These game hackers don’t like revealing too much and it’s just as likely (if not moreso) that it would be highly improbable that someone could break in before release day.

            Someone did manage to get a German copy of the demo early though, so almost anything’s possible.

          • Hmm. I hope you’re right, but I don’t get how knowing how to protect a game pre-launch has anything to do with knowing how to protect its files.

          • Because they fall under similar disciplines and anyone smart enough to encrypt something like that should be able to think of ways to cut out spoiler data from a demo of a full game (with the exception of stuff that’s actually crucial to gameplay).

  107. While we are all talking about how much we love moon version over sun, I just want to say that I love the way GF made the night sky and night lighting look. The lighting is perfect, and the night sky is gorgeous, and makes me want to go see the stars even more than I already do.
