Mere hours away from the Sun & Moon demo going live, a new Pokémon has leaked on Amazon!
Spotted on the side of box art for the upcoming Sun & Moon TCG, the image was uploaded for its listing on Amazon JP. No new Pokémon are featured on the Moon boxart showcasing Lunala.
As of now, absolutely nothing is known about the new Pokémon other than its appearance. Time to get those creative juices flowing – any guesses on its typing or name?

Dartrix, Popplio3, Lucanrock midnight, Gumshoos, Drampa, Steenee & Tsareena, Crabrawler, Confey, Tapu Koko, now this thing. I mean this is the hairgeneration.
Considering half of the world’s population of animals have some type of ordainment on their heads it’s not surprising. But yeah, I agree: LOVE IT!

I doubt it’s Maile though as it’s only Gen 1 that gets their own forms, plus like the people said there are new Pokemon, so yes! There will be new Pokemon!

I actually really like the design. I need a water Pokemon on my team so maybe this’ll it.
Hopefully it evolves into something that looks better. On it’s own it doesn’t look cool enough for me to use.
I posted this in the other thread-what I think it’s pre-evo is-but I am going to post it here as well since there is now a thread devoted to this:

It’s neither Pyukumuku or Wimpod, and it’s not associated with either one in my opinion. The color scheme, the demure, the design, they’re all too different to be associated with any pre-existing new Pokemon or evolutionary chain.
Hmm, the other two Pokemon on that side of the box are Alolan Meowth and Krokorok, both Dark Types. Maybe it’s Dark Type as well?
It looks more like Water/poison or Water/Steel imo.

Considering it lives underwater, I wouldn’t be surprised if its primary type is water. But then again there was Florges so…
My guess is on water/poison. It could be water/steel but that’s a stretch.
Cradily, Anorith, and Stunfisk also live in water but aren’t water types.

Tbh there are so many types this thing could be, for example it could be water/poison, water/steel, water/dark, water/grass(doubtful) or even as random as poison/fairy (wouldn’t be the first pokemon to live in the sea thats not a water type)
To be honest I’d rather have our first Poison/Fairy be based off of a deadly fae creature than a sea anenome :p

It’s definitely real, it’s on a certified product.
Seeing as I’m not too bothered with type overlap I might use it if it has good stats or a good evo, but I think it’ll probably be one of the rotating Pokémon not classified as a diva.

Yer exactly. I’m leaning more towards it being part of an evolution line we haven’t seen yet, but if I had to pick any previously showed Pokemon that it looked like I’d have to go with Wimpod.
It does have a odd sort of design synergy with Wimpod that makes me wonder if they have a relation that isn’t evolutionary (counterparts, flavour text, etc).

Yes, but said otter into sea lion keeps a consistent theme: weaponry, blades to be exact.

What if it’s Wimpod’s middle stage? Or what if Wimpod is the middle stage??? No one would guess some of the middle stages because their designs are so different (ex: Pupitar, Shelgon)
Personally I don’t see it, I also don’t see the Mawile resemblance that people are seeing, it looks so unique to me… but at the same time I feel like I have seen it somewhere before…hmm

My personal motto is the more frilly/girly Pokemon the better. It gives me a wider array of them to put on my team.

I love the design for this Pokemon, its super cute! when seeing it it looked like it could be water/poison but could also see other possibilities for it like fairy/poison too, whatever its typing is I can’t wait to learn more about this one something about it draws me in xD

Well considering the campaign has been and always will be a cake walk I don’t really care about type match ups. And just because something might not be competitive doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist. If we utilized that logic then we should just get rid of types, base stats, EVs, and IVs so that everything is good against everything.
I’m just saying. Heck, I don’t even do competative 😛
I must admit though, at this rate IVs are slowly becoming obsolete.

There’s actually a name for this phenomenon in humans! I was reading about it the other day but forgot what it’s called. It’s when the sight of hexagonal shapes and plates make us physically uncomfortable. A result from our past ancestors dealing with insects and disease on a regular basis. The instinct has been passed down

Well, not all pokemon are only based on one organism. It could be inspired by multiple types of urchins. Not all urchins are round though, the shingle urchin has a flat bottom.
It clearly is based on a purple sea urchin if you’ve ever seen one. In the same sudowoodo is clearly based on a tree
But, sea urchins have a solid definitive trait to them: they’re round. Pyukumuku looks more like a urchin than this unknown Pokémon. Seems more like an anemone. Clearly, what this Pokémon is based on is not so clear.

This Pokémon is why I still have two empty slots in my first team-I am holding out for these gems that haven’t been revealed yet.
It’s just fun to preplan IMO, even though I hardly ever stick to the plan.
I agree, I just have a commitment Problem and I feel guilty making changes as if I have betrayed the Pokemon’s trust that I had initially picked.
